Chapter Fourteen
Sky followed Selene as she walked up to a tall tree. Hecate jumped down from a branch she had been sitting on and landed on a hidden button. An opening appeared in the tree, leading to a small drop. Selene glanced at Sky with a small grin on her face. "Ready?" she asked.
Sky snorted. "That is not a big drop Selene, we are not going to get hurt or anything."
Selene laughed. "I know," she said as she jumped down. Sky shook his head and mimicked her actions, following Selene into her home.
Selene collapsed onto her couch almost immediately. "Well, that was certainly... interesting," she commented.
"Yeah, I didn't expect them to be at the Base," Sky said. He frowned. "I still can't believe I did not recognize Jason. He is my own cousin!" he exclaimed.
Selene yawned. "Well, it has been so long since you last saw him. Do not stress about it too much." She curled up on her end of the couch.
Sky grinned when he saw the position she was in. "You tired?" he teased.
Selene threw a pillow at him. "Shut up," she mumbled. "I have not had a proper night of sleep in a while."
Sky rested his head on the side of the couch. "I do not blame you," he murmured. "I have not been able to sleep well this month either." He yawned as he closed his eyes.

Notch swatted Herobrine. "Stop scaring the mortals," he hissed.
Herobrine frowned and glanced at the wary generals. He shrugged. "I will be at the Gates when you are ready," he said.
The generals watched Herobrine as he walked to the front of the base, still holding onto the struggling wolf. "Erm, what did he mean by 'when you are ready'?" Quentin asked.
Notch laughed softly. He answered, "Herobrine does not like to waste his time. He is waiting for us to get ready to leave."
"Us?" Ian echoed.
Notch frowned. "I assumed you wanted to come with us to retrieve Sky, but I guess I thou-"
"No no, we want to come," Jerome quickly interrupted. "Right?" The generals nodded to Jerome's relief.
Notch smiled. "Then I suggest you grab your weapons. Sky will not go down without a fight."
The generals exchanged uneasy looks before running off to the weaponry. Mitch stayed behind, confused as to why Jason wasn't moving. "Jason, aren't you going to get your sword?" he asked.
Jason gave Mitch a mysterious smile and snapped his fingers. A diamond sword with an orange sapphire gem on the handle appeared in his hand. Mitch stared at Jason for a moment before running after the others.
They returned quickly with their choice weapons. Mitch with a bow, Jerome with his diamond axe, and Ian and Quentin with an iron sword each. Jerome, Ian, and Quentin stared at Jason's sword and quickly focused back on Notch.
Notch briefly looked them over and appeared satisfied with their choices. "Let's go," he said. He led them to where Herobrine was standing.
The Nether god looked up in annoyance as they approached. "Hguone gnol uoy koot," he muttered. He pointedly avoided Notch's glare as he set Luna on the ground. "Be freee!" Herobrine yelled, catching everyone off guard.
Notch burst into laughter as Luna ran off into the forest. Herobrine grinned and sprinted after the wolf. The mortals stared at Notch in bewilderment. Notch shook his head and tried to speak but could not stop laughing. Notch eventually gave up trying and followed Herobrine.
The generals exchanged confused looks as they entered the forest. They found Herobrine chuckling and Notch breathless with laughter. Mitch was the first to speak up. "What was that about?" he demanded.
Notch looked up and answered, "That... that would be Oreh lightening up the mood I believe." He looked at Herobrine for confirmation, who nodded.
Ian tilted his head. "Oreh?"
Herobrine's eyes lit up. "Ooh, can I?" he asked.
Notch shrugged. "Sure."
Herobrine grinned at the confused mortals and bowed. "Hello, my name is Herobrine, god of the Nether. Anyone who truly knows me knows me as Oreh, one of the three Creators. I helped create the Council, which I am part of."
The generals stared at Herobrine, baffled at his words. "Then why do you kill innocent people?" Quentin asked softly. He flinched as Herobrine turned his gaze to him.
Herobrine gave him a sad look. "I am afraid I cannot answer that right now," he replied.
"But," Notch said, glancing at his brother, "we can answer other questions you have on our way to Sky." Herobrine nodded and began walking through the forest, following an unseen path. Notch walked beside him, Jason and the generals close behind.
Jerome glanced at Jason before asking his question. "What exactly is going on?"
Notch smiled. "Starting out simple, huh? Oreh, Sky, Jason, and myself are all part of the Council. Sky ran away about a century ago and we are trying to bring him back."
"It sounds like Sky is immortal then," Mitch muttered.
Herobrine looked over his shoulder and said, "He is."
Mitch looked up in surprise. "What?"
Jason laughed a little. "Sky is the son of Herobrine. He not only has Herobrine's powers, but he also is immortal. One of the perks of being part of the Council."
Mitch narrowed his eyes. "So does that mean that you are immortal too?"
Jason nodded. "Yeah, I am."
"How do you become part of the Council?" Ian asked with genuine curiosity.
"For the most part, there is a hierarchy for the Council," Notch answered. "Unless a Council member betrays Minecraftia and there's no replacement for them, you have to be either created or born in the hierarchy to have a chance at becoming part of the Council."
"If you don't mind me asking, what do you mean by born in the hierarchy?" Ian asked.
"Well, being a descendant of the Ender Dragon is one example. In fact, Ty is the grandson of the first Ender Dragon," Notch added casually.
The generals froze in their tracks. "TY?!" they exclaimed.
Herobrine chuckled at their reaction. "Yes, Ty is part of the Council. Why did you think he had those wings and tail?" he asked.
With no answer, the generals resumed following the two brothers. "Actually, why did you say Ty was not to get involved?" Quentin asked.
Herobrine hesitated and Notch answered for him. "It will all make sense soon, but that is yet another question we cannot answer right now."
"You mentioned something about a Council member betraying Minecraftia," Ian started. "Has it happened before?"
Herobrine lost focus for a moment and stumbled. Notch glanced at him cautiously as Herobrine regained his balance. "Yes," Herobrine answered shortly. His tone warned the generals not to continue with that particular topic.
Quentin asked another question. "What is it like being a god?"
Notch chuckled. "I should have seen that one coming. Well, it is quite useful knowing all the secrets of Minecraftia. I do not believe there has ever been a mortal that knows as much as we do. But it does get boring after a while, doing the same thing everyday. That is probably why most of the Council has a reputation of being at least slightly mischievous. Stuff similar to what Oreh said earlier helps to keep us entertained."
The group entered a spruce forest as they continued following Herobrine. "So why did Sky and Jason not tell us who they are?" Mitch asked.
Jason sighed. "For one, do you want to be pestered to do magic tricks all day? Secondly, I like to make real friends, not people who want favors from me all the time."
"But how do you manage to keep a secret as big as that for so long?" Ian asked.
Jason snickered before answering. "Practice, practice, and more practice."
Jerome spoke up, asking, "Can yo-"
Herobrine suddenly stopped in front of a large tree. "Of course they would come here," he muttered. He knelt on the ground and felt around for something. He pressed a button, and an opening appeared in the tree. The generals watched him as he turned back to them. "After you," Herobrine said, gesturing to the tree.

Ummm... Whoops? *dodges flying object* ACK I'M SORRY
I'm so sorry for taking so long. I don't really have an excuse this time, besides maybe working on some one-shot ideas.
Speaking of one-shots, the one-shot book is now called Book 7: Forever Immortal. It'll basically have all one-shots, behind the scenes, and extra info of the series. There's currently a place saver published in Book 7 so you can take a look at the cover. Tell me what you think! :)
Now that school is starting soon, I should be getting an upload schedule up and running soon.
OH WAIT I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THIS! Thank you so much for 800 views! <3
Annnd I want to do this real quick. Thanks to SparklingSorcerer, ToxicWolfie183, and @ColorBlast for those questions! Those really did help me out with this chapter, and hopefully everyone learned something new :3
Until next time! :D
