Chapter Eleven

Jason glanced at the clock in Sky's office as the group filed out of the room. He nervously ran through the plan as he followed the other Generals to the lake. He knew he would have to take off his spacesuit soon. As fancy as it was, it was too bulky for him to run around in. He needed all the flexibility and speed he could get today.

Calm down Jason, he told himself. All you have to do is stand with Sky and the Generals. Your father and uncle will take care of the rest. What could go wrong?

Sky stood by the lake with Ty and TrueMU on his right and Quentin, Mitch, Jerome, and Ian on his left. The new recruits were talking quietly as they waited for the Welcoming Ceremony to begin. Selene was off doing Notch-knows-what since she didn't particularly like public speaking.

Ironic, isn't it? One of the few people who acted almost daily had stage fright.

Sky gazed out at the crowd standing in front of him. He glanced back at Ty, who nodded. Sky stepped forward and began his speech.

"Welcome recruits!" he declared, and the recruits quieted down immediately. "I- er, we are glad to see you all. My name is Adam, and I am the current Commander of the Sky Army. My Generals," he said as he gestured behind him, "will introduce themselves."

Adam stepped back as Ty replaced him. "I'm Ty, or as you will call me, General Deadlox. I take care of the patrol and the schedule that keeps the Base running. If we need a spy team, I will be the one leading that group." Ty walked back to his place and pushed TrueMU up to the center.

TrueMU laughed as he waved at the recruits. "Hello! I'm General TrueMU, and I also help with the schedule. I'm in charge of you all, or at least until you have chosen your division." He stepped back for the next general to introduce himself. Shadowy figures moved around next to the hospital.

"Hey there," Quentin said. "I'm Quentin, otherwise known as Doctor Mudkip. I work in the hospital, and I also teach recruits how to fight in water since a lot of our battles take place by a body of water."

Ian stepped forward. "I'm General Ssundee, but call me Ian. I work in the kitchen, where we make breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the whole Base."

Mitch and Jerome jumped forward. "Hey doods! I'm Mitch, and this is my partner Jerome."

Jerome grinned as he continued for Mitch. "We will be your trainers here at Sky Army Base. Let me warn you right now, not all of you will be fighting. Some may work in the kitchen with Ian, and some may work as medics in the hospital. You may even simply be a messenger."

"However, for those of you who will be fighting, there are several divisions you can chose to join," Mitch said. "You will have to chose between being a Guard, Archer, Swordsman, or our new division, Warrior. I will be teaching Archers how to use a bow, and Jerome will show the Warriors how to wield a battle axe."

Jerome broke in. "Most of you will choose a sword as your weapon. That's why both Mitch and I teach sword fighting. It makes it easier to teach when you have someone helping out."

"Guards are a special case," Mitch said. "The majority of the recruits in the Sky Army are trained as soldiers. Soldiers don't really do all that much until a battle. Guards are always on duty. They keep the Base safe between battles. You usually see a guard stationed at the Gates." Mitch and Jerome stepped back as Adam moved forward once again.

Adam said, "As I said, I'm the Commander of the Sky Army. I lead the soldiers in any battle. You can easily spot me or the Generals during a battle since we are the only ones who will be riding a horse. I show up to training sometimes to help Mitch and Jerome teach recruits. Otherwise, you can usually find me in my office." Adam noticed the cloaked figures near the hospital were starting to move towards the crowd.

"Now that we've all introduced ourselves," Adam continued, keeping a wary eye on the figures, "TrueMU and Deadlox will take you on a tour of the Base. They will give you your room number and temporary schedule at the end of the tour." TrueMU and Ty stepped forward with a large amount of papers in Ty's arms. "That's it! I will see... you..." Adam trailed off. He paled as he finally noticed the white, glowing eyes.

The generals glanced at Adam, confused. They had failed to see the two figures nearing them. "Adam?" Ty asked. When Adam didn't respond, Ty waved his hand in Adam's face. "Hello? Anyone there?"

Adam turned to his generals, scanning them quickly. His eyes landed on TrueMU, who folded his arms. Adam quickly moved in front of TrueMU. "Take off your helmet," he ordered.

The recruits glanced at each other uneasily, and the generals watched Adam in shock. No one had ever seen TrueMU's face, and Adam was acting very unusual. TrueMU slowly took off his helmet, and Adam stepped back and placed a hand on his sword. "Jason," he hissed.

Jason's blue eyes glittered mischievously. "Hello Sky," he purred. "Did you miss me?"

Recruits yelped as Sky drew his sword from its sheath. "You brought them here, didn't you?" Sky demanded.

Jason smiled as a sword formed in his hands. "What else was I supposed to do?" He circled Sky, who watched him carefully. Jason stopped and pointed his sword at Sky's chest. "You aren't getting away this time."

The two figures had reached the crowd and were growing closer to the Generals and Commander. Sky glanced nervously at the two and made a quick decision. He lunged at Jason, who jumped back at the sudden action. However, he was too slow, and Sky slashed at Jason's arm. Sky quickly teleported away as Jason grasped the bleeding gash.

The two cloaked figures finally reached the front of the now panicking crowd. The man in the brown cloak rushed over to where Jason was standing. The other figure in the black cloak stood in front of the crowd, waiting for a reaction from the Generals.

Mitch spoke first. "W-what was that?" His eyes were wide with terror.

The white eyed man chuckled, gaining the attention of the Generals. They backed up slowly to get as far away from him as they could. "That would be Sky attempting to escape his judgement," Notch said. He had removed the hood of his cloak.

Everyone immediately bowed towards the black eyed god. Notch waved his hand carelessly and said, "There's no need for formalities. Herobrine and I just want to retrieve Sky as soon as we can."

Ian looked at Notch curiously. "Who's Sky?" he asked.

To the mortals' shock, Herobrine answered. "Adam, or more better known as my son."

A/N

Welp, uh, this is out late. Whoops.

Oh, everyone is shocked that Herobrine spoke because they all think Notch had taken away his voice. More explanation for that in The Beginning.

I'm starting to feel bad for Jason. Oh well. More pain for him.

Oh gosh, this is almost halfway done already. I need to start preparing to write Book 1.

I have no clue when I'm posting Chapter 12. Maybe this weekend, but I don't know. It all depends on how tired I am by the end of the week.

See you next time!
