Six years later...

Axolotl swam through the cave river. It made her wonder what the rivers of the above were like. Were they bigger or smaller? Were they fast or slow? Did they even move at all?

 Axolotl's best friend, Murky, swam up to her. "Are you thinking about the above world?" Murky asked. 

"How did you know?!" Axolotl exclaimed, "Are you a mind reader?! I wonder if there are mind readers in the above world?"

 Murky laughed and smiled at her friend. "Axolotl, there are no such things as mind readers." 

"There might be," said Axolotl, "There might be all sorts of things in the above world! Like giant salamanders or something! There might be mind readers. One day, when I'm queen, I'm going to see what the above world is truly like." 

"Shhhhhhhh!" Murky exclaimed. "Don't say stuff like that. Everyone knows what happened the last time someone was curious about the above world." 

Axolotl's face fell. When she was only one year old, her sister Abyss, had gone missing. No one knew why, so technically no one did know what happened the last time someone was curious about the above world, Murky, but anyway, Abyss had always been curious and everyone thought that she had gone to the above world and was killed there. But Axolotl refused to believe that. Something else had happened to Abyss... and Axolotl still had nightmares about it. Something, in the caves was chasing her, and then she'd see Abyss's blue gray eyes looking at her as if they were going to be gone forever. The caves had always been full of secrets. Then Axolotl heard something. She saw that Murky had heard it, too. Something in the darkness let out an angry roar...
