Chapter 4: Reconnection
It felt weird for Hiccup to accept the fact that his own father, the chief of Berk had lied to him. There was a precious secret he never knew about.
The fact that he has a sibling. A sister who that his father never mentioned to him for all his life, and out of nowhere, by some unknown luck, she was standing right in front of him, alive and well during her "death."
How could he mange to grasp that? "Hiccup?" He turns to see Rose who was looking at him with pure sadness in her eyes.
It must've been harder on her, as that knowing that this was the first time that he was meeting her, and that their lives are completely different.
It felt like they weren't completely siblings at all, more like compete strangers to one another.
The dragon trainer took a massive breath to control his emotions, as that he knew that he has bunch of questions that needed to be answered.
"I don't understand, this. If you are what you say you are, Rose, then what exactly happened to you? Why you weren't in Berk with me or Dad?" He asked.
Rose knew that he needed to hear her side of that night, as she looked at the horizon, to relive that night Firewind had taken her.
"Hiccup, it was a raid attack. You probably be most mad at who would attack our village. It was Alexis."
Hiccup was shocked of hearing the very person that the Haddock siblings met was the same person who separated them in the first place.
"I tried the best I could, Hiccup, to protect you from her. What amazes me that the dragon that saved me from Alexis, was Firewind."
Hiccup looked at the dragon, "Wow. That is amazing, huh, I guess that we have something in common, we tame a species that nobody ever dream of.
Dad had some... delicate feelings when Toothless first came to the village. It took some time for him to adjust to dragons aren't-"
"Evil as he thought they were? I know the feeling. The fact is, Firewind is actually a rare dragon, she's a Titan Nightwing."
"A Titan what?" He yelps, as to discover what species that she belong to. "You should've seen your face, Hic!
Your reaction was priceless!" She laughs as Hiccup makes a pout, "Glad you're the one laughing. Still, you were all alone with Firewind all this time? Are you going to come back home?"
"To Berk? Hiccup, I don't know about that option. Alexis is still a threat, and as long she's around causing this mess, I don't want any of the wild dragons to suffer because of her."
Hiccup thought, "She is amazing. I kind of expected her being so stubborn, it looks like we are truly are siblings."
"Hey, I think Trent missed you for a long time. He hasn't used of Dragons yet. I think that night traumatized him.
Do you think that once it's all over... can you at least talk to him for me? You know him better than anyone. "
"Do you really think he'll be thrilled to see me again after all this time? It feels odd to be reunited after all this time." She asked.
"You'll be fine, Sis. Trust in me, like you trust Firewind. You'll make up." Hiccup said, reassuring her.
Back on Berk, Trent was thinking all alone, as that he was thinking about his childhood friend, as that he heard a voice.
"I figured you would be out here, Trent." He turned around to see it was Astrid. "Oh, hi." He greets her as she sat down.
"You seemed distracted. I can see it. Is it because of someone you have a crush on?" She guesses as Trent said in stuttering tone, "C-Crush?!? Whoa, Astrid, why would you say something like that? I don't have any..."
"C'mon, look how long that Hiccup and I finally admit that we have a relationship. We didn't tell anyone about it until later on.
If you really have a crush on someone for a long time, you shouldn't wait."
Trent never imagined that he would get advice from her. It felt completely weirded out, as that she used to be mean.
"You know what i think? You and the others completely changed over the years. Those creatures completely changed you." He said.
Astrid said, "Oh, you can thank Hiccup for that. Hic really was the one who knew how incredible dragons truly are.
Of course, of knowing him, he's bound to be in trouble. Let's go before Stoick finds out about him and Toothless were missing."
Trent wasn't fully trusted with riding a dragon, as he reluntly climbs on, as the Nadder flews off in search of the rider and dragon.
