Chapter 11: Fieldtrip Or Camping Trip

The days blur faster than I can even scream. It been what loosely two weeks of planning and it's completely supremely to see how fast one can adapt. I don't think I was acting weird honestly that I observed Noah like someone working in the zoo. How he dressed crisply and attractive to a normal guys. He changed his ironed blazer to a sweater and his loafers for scruffy sneakers or vans and sometimes he didn't wear a tie.

Adaptation of the male species is so peculiar. One thing I know which trended through the girls dormitory. Which they chat about his accent like is some turn on and it's hot. Dude, it wasn't even close to PG.

I sat on one of the round tables and ate some food. It was so white. Noah and Nova were having a very dark chat.

"No, the best way to kill someone is poison them. "Nova concluded as Noah laughed. "No, you stab the neck and the heart. Or the thigh to stun the thigh to buckle their legs so they can't run "He snapped as I flinched.

"Do you guys watch Criminal Minds, CSI or something. "I asked, arched a brow and stared at them.

"No, I watch Buzz feed Mystery on YouTube. He sighed heavily and cackled like flames.

"So if everyone hates you. You will simply get rid of most of them. "She said while she nodded.

"Yeah."

I jerked my head and tried to think. Nothing really seemed to irked me or surprise me anymore. Noah joined the swim team after five or six days. He joined after he did six laps on the pool and now he's a backup and knows a lot about pools.

The vans rolls into Arcadia National park as we prep for our camping trip and get ready to get into town. The sun raises high in the sky as I spotted familiar stone bridges and gurgling water as we trudged further. Since I joined in school in March, it wasn't easy for this but now is literally May.

We weaved through a dirt, entered deeper into the forest, and set up camp, which the teachers barked, orders but helped us when needed but other than that. They were as still as statues that seemed to only move when necessary.

Noah wore a flannel shirt, jeans and boots that was allowed since we'll be spending time. Eleventh graders and twelfth graders were staying further but they were allowed to go into town for business strategies and try to sell products made by the school.

***

We trudged into the town and set up for our little adventure. The pier was flooded with tourists and locals as we shared brochures, announced as we chat on the grass, and laughed.

"Ok, so how does this work?"I asked curiously, darting my head as everyone shifted, shuffled and exchanged worried glances. My face fell they didn't want me here. I nodded and bit my tongue.

"Um, Heather. Maybe you should this one out, for a sec?" Clara said as she bit her lip.

"Why? "I demanded, flailing my arms, "Isn't this a group assignment?"

I nodded and left.

"Wait. What is going on? "Noah demanded, pounded his fist. She leaned to his ear and whispered .His shoulders sagged as he bit his lip and lo and behold, he chases me.

"I don't think you're crazy? Their bitches. You didn't come to school for them. "He said, his face hard with determination as I nodded and pinched myself.

They shifted. "I call data. "I said smugly as a small smile plays on my lips. Noah raised his hand and tagged his bracelet. A pink one with an orange bead.

They sat on the bench and chat as I rested my back on a willow three as I was shrouded with darkness. With a back pain, I grabbed a pen and scribbled notes. Sketching and analysing stones and checking weather patterns.

"For group six project us fieldwork and nature. "The Head boy concluded intertwining his fingers. He was a tall and lean boy with copper coloured skin, black shiny hair and twinkling black eyes. He held a check board as he truced to numerous groups' .I was wondering why they made the seniors scout us for time to time. While the teachers chat and relaxed in a secluded cabin probably relaxing. If you what I'm saying.

After angrily munching on a burger and glowering, we head to the campsite.

Clara barked orders at the group but completely ignored me like I'm some plague. I breathe in the salty air and gaze down the lake. As strands of bright orange claw into the dull blue sky as the sun sets. So beautiful and breath taking.

We were five in a group all doing different tasks instead of learning. It was I, Noah, Clara, Philip and Jessica. Three girls and two guys. And it was group work but they shunned me like a virus but they gave me pleading and apoplectic looks from time to time.

Clara was girl from Scotland and she is an honour student. Philip was from North Carolina but he was normal student a bit younger and liked chatting Portuguese with me just to tick them off. And finally jess lovable and energetic Jess, she just turned sixteen and is completely educated about this subject but she's nice. With flowing strawberry blonde hair and small blue eyes from Vancouver.

It ripples and shimmers but when I look at it, I froze. Something black wisps around like tentacles and hisses through the water and as I peered closer. I see two great Greek columns broken and discarded.

I blink and retreated, rubbing eyes. And darted my head. To the sound of chirping.

We camped next to the rocky coastline enclosed by boatful mountains and formed a beautiful curve of pine trees. My bare feet scraped the gravel as it injured my soles.

Clara arms were on her shoulders as I bobbled my head and grabbed the pieces and tried to figure it out.

Clara had tanned skin, light blonde hair in a high ponytail and deep chocolatey brown eyes. She was dressed in a light flannel, a tank top and uggs.

A huge green tent ringed a gorgeous clearing. Small tents were specked around as they set up the bonfire. A student, maybe a tenth grader grabbed a herb, mashed it the sprinkled it into the fire as its flames cackled and licked in the darkness.

"What is she doing? "I whispered, leaning to Noah. "She's throwing herds to ward off mosquitoes and superstition warded off spirts or demons who might be lurking in the darkness."

"Deep. "I mumbled as I recoiled. Wrapping my arms on my legs and swatted the ticks as I sat by the bonfire as a sharp and spicy scent wafted into my nostrils. Some people were lucky they brought mosquito repellent and bug spray. I wiggled my toes as darkness-swallowed us whole.

And the only light we saw was the fire and the coastline and the rippling sea,

I moved from the itchy blades of grass, wore a pullover over my tank, and stared at the reflection of the stars blinking and twinkling on the sea as a small smile tugged my lips as I relaxed on a log.

Through the darkness, I could hear howling, chirping and muttering voices of teens laughing simply or making jokes. Dresed as if we're lumberjacks but camping and learning instead of sleeping.

We did sing-alongs and scary stories, which sounds scarier since we are alone all the way in a reserve with no adult supervision with teens. Hopefully no one gets frisky or smokes.

Suddenly, everything changes as a shadow chances then everything muffles till I froze and my blood rans cold. I see a black shadowy figure staring at me. She gestures with her glowing red eyes to enter the forest then she pointed to the flames as it grew into a column as everyone screams and disperse.

I nodded, crawled on all fours over getting dirty wet and itchy and followed her into the infinite darkness. I rested my arms on a trunk of a tree and breathe heavily.

The curvy figure emerges and laughs. I ball my fist as she placed ha finger on her plump lips as I attempt to growl.

"My name is Avalorian and I have a message for you, Heather McCarthy." She said, her voice raised and bitterness laced in her silk and deep voice I freeze as I get a cold look at her. She was short but curvy, with tanned skin and red glowing eyes and long straight black hair that ended at her waist. She held a dagger as the butt of it was on my throat as I choked and gagged.

Yay.

It turns out I'm extremely popular in the Supernatural world. Goodness knows why but I am so now everyone wants my head on a literally stick.

Wisps of smoke grows and billows in the night flashing the navy blue sky red with smoke. It thickens as I choke and staggered.

"Heather!"

A familiar deep voice cried as I tried to scream but I only cough harder and there stood the massager checking her nails, as she stood there unbothered. She grabbed my collar and dragged me like I weigh nothing and no voice comes out not even raspy or hoarse. I wave my arms frantically a figure emerges, covered in smoke as he forcefully coughs as if he wants to vomit his food or the lining of his lungs. He was sweating profusely and covered in ash and smoke.

"Finally, my distraction worked. "She cried happily, squealing and jumping, he stared at me then me again.

She clapped and whistled.

The screams die down, the smoke vanishes, burning trees recover like time-lapse video and everything seems to move on jelly. Noah knees buckled as he ran his long fingers through his coppery curls and he staggers to realise the evidence is gone the ash, smoke and signs of suffocation has vanished. He held me tight as Avalorain face scrunch in disgust.

She screamed loudly as the strong gust of wind moves her hair. "Heather McCarthy, your mere existence into stepping into this town has opened the portal that has been sealed for centuries. "She bellowed as she snapped her attention to Noah with hostility in hr eyes as it glowed like red flames hungry for blood, "Noah Franklin the extents of your favour shall injure you to your deaths. "She concluded as it dies down and the storm clouds vanish. The ley lines have been disturbed. "She whirled to the both of us and screamed. It felt as if my eardrums were drumming and shattering as I closed my ears, "now, you two can see through the glamour, you are no more ignorant mortals now your eyes are opened. "She did sound like a wounded animal and ear-shattering screams and calm down. The scene wavers and blurs as a roar shatters through the eerie darkness. Noah was trembling as he tried to protect me as we slowly got up and sprang then she vanished. We checked before se bolted only to stop as our hair blows and spins.

"Oh, shit." We exclaimed and bolted deeper into the woods ,twisting ,turning dodging and leaping but quickly I was out of breathe. A giant black bear chase us as it stopped then turned into ashes. Now Noah was ashen and the colour has drained from his skin, as I wanted to scream. Too much illusions and creep-a-zoids.

There was a crowd of familiar-looking teens they shifted uncomfortably and staggered.

"Help, a crazy girl and a bear is chasing us. "Noah yelled, waving his hands frantically and surrender as he choked.

"What bear?"

"There."

"You're mad."

He whispered his eyes wide and bloodshot as he started biting his nails. He grabbed my shoulders and shook them. Avalorian reappeared sitting on a log and laughed. The cabin mates called on their walkie-talkies as familiar people squeeze through the crowd as their eyes went wide.

"Don't you see her, she's laughing..."Noah screamed, staggering and pointed to her with trembling arms and croaking voice. Her icy laugh get high pitched and shriller. I grabbed his arm and yanked him.

I shook my head and stared at the kids all dressed pyjamas woken up from our shrill screams and echoing freighting footsteps. "You're crazy now. Whether you want or not. "I snapped. He choked, breathing heavily and forced a laugh.

"My ma was right, I knew she wasn't crazy she's gifted and cursed and now we are. "He forced a grin and shook like he was having a seizure or laughing hysterically like a demon clown.

I patted his shoulder softly as we sagged on the hollow moss covered log. They stared at us then the truck they shook their head.

"More people are arriving shortly, stay put."Avalorain shouted angrily , as she reappeared, sitting cross legged on the mossy grass while playing a flute as her back-painted nails played elegantly on its long wooden body. Noah was fazed, confused and mesmerized as he nodding one could see hr but us or hear the sweat melodic sound of music. Still unbothered by the cold, the darkness just like Noah if it wasn't for him I would have tripped, scraped or injured myself. Or heard or seen anything as he lead the way.

Well, strange. I didn't notice till now.

"Heather and ...Noah want the hell are you guys doing here, "A familiar girly voice yelled. "Nova. "I screamed happily as a small smile played on my lips , she crouched wearing a tank top and cotton pants the Sadie sprinted and tackled me into a big hug then staggered then fixed her flimsy night gown then smiled. We laughed loudly.

"O.M.G." Nova exclaimed her face going ballistic, clamming her mouth. "T-that was you guys. "Nova drawled, shook her head. "Why are you guys holding hands and Noah looks like he can have a heart attack. "Nova said, looking concerned at us. Then we recoiled and flushed.

"Hey. I'm here."Avalonian butt in, squeezing her head in as they screamed. She snapped fingers and grinned. She stared at us.

"You four can only see me, "Then her face hardened as she looked at me in disgust, "Your fate is sealed. "She growled as she disappeared.

"Did...D-did she just vanish. "Sadie drawled her eyes wide as she stammered. We nodded curtly as the crowd retreated to their assigned cabins further into the woods. We nodded as Sadie imitated the poof sign and giggled nervously.

"So Heather isn't mentally challenged or crazy. Thank goodness. "Nova sighed heavily pulling her purple jumper closer as cold air prickled her skin. I shot daggers at her and shamelessly rolled my eyes.

A spine-tickling message loomed through the darkness like a hiss penetrated our minds. "You are no more ignorant, your eyes are opened and your fates are sealed. "Then I felt a cold, hollow and icy fingers trail my cheeks. It was invisible but should at the same time. "Your fates are woven and intertwined and your choices can be your downfall or you're appraising."

I shivered and twitched as we all screamed. We stared at each other as we concluded we all heard it then scrambled away.

Good ole horror movies.

And to make matters worse than we already know. We see a kid on the gravel and shingles pointed to the lake and the moon as howls and cackling surrounds us.

What the fuck.

The kid looked like Annabelle had a sister and she looked a living corpse.

Again, what the fuck.

She had stringy light brown hair that was cropped short, a pink puffy dress with a brown smock over the puffy dress as she held a shabby, tattered teddy bear to her heart as she croaked and cried. She wore milk white stocking and pink flats. We stared in total shock as we screamed then we exchanged looks. She was pure white and her skin was like cracked marble as her back solid eyes darted.

Its confirmed. I'm not crazy and we're in all in this together whether we like it or not.

Moon and ocean.
