Ruhana is pondering over the two names she heard in her dreams.

Samrat and Ishu! Who are they? Are these people real? What does that conversation mean? Ruhana is perplexed but then hurries downstairs to prepare some tea for her parents and herself. She can't be thinking of her dreams all the time.

Within 15 minutes, Ruhana prepares the tea and moves into the living room with a tray of tea mugs and snacks. She places the tray on the table and jumps onto the couch beside her dad. She rests her head on his shoulder, and her father chuckles at the moment. The girl hasn’t changed one bit, but he’s unaware of his daughter’s inner turmoil.

“So, what’s up, honey? You seemed upset this afternoon,” he asks softly.

“Nothing, Dad! It’s something you wouldn’t believe!” she says softly.

“She’s watching a lot of Netflix, Ronit. That’s why she’s having all these stupid dreams,” Sandhya comments, unaware of what her daughter is going through.

“No, Mumma! It’s not like that,” Ruhana whines instantly.

“Then what is it?” Sandhya glares at her daughter.

“You wouldn’t understand! But it is something unusual,” Ruhana says softly.

“Honey, what is it? Care to tell me?” Ronit asks gently.

“You’d believe me?” Ruhana looks at him.

“Honey, tell me first, then we’ll see. If we can seek help, we will,” Ronit says softly.

Ruhana looks at her parents once. Her mother seems disinterested, but her father is interested in listening to her. He wants to know what is bothering his daughter so much that she has become silent and doesn’t talk to anyone much. Ronit finds her lost and taps her cheek.

“I’m your father, honey. I may not give you enough time, but I know when my girl is upset or happy,” he says softly, and she hugs him.

“Dad, I don’t know if you will believe it or not, but this is what I’ve been facing for a long time. Mumma doesn’t believe me and you….” Ruhana says but stops as his phone rings.

Ronit gets busy with the call and suddenly becomes tense. He tells the caller that he will reach in 40 minutes. Ruhana sighs while her dad pats her cheek.

“I am sorry, honey. Your mom and I need to hurry up. We have to meet your Randeep Uncle. We will discuss it tomorrow, okay?” he says affectionately, and she nods her head positively.

Ronit and Sandhya move to their room to get ready while Ruhana sighs deeply. She knows they won’t help her and will chide her for watching Netflix and reading fiction. Ten minutes later, her parents leave the house, and her mom instructs her to have dinner on time as they may get late. Ruhana agrees, and they leave the house. She closes the doors and checks up on everything. Asking the housemaid to go home and rest, Ruhana moves into her room and locks the door.

Her eyes rest on the books arranged on her side table. She sighs deeply. She doesn’t know how to find out the secrets of her dreams. She’s looking around the room when her eyes fall on a small notebook on her study table. She picks it up; it’s brand new. She decides to write her dream sequences again. It might be of some help.

A beach. A guy and a girl, much in love, spending quality time.

Arguments – two girls.

The guy is trying to convince the girl. He wants her to trust him.

The girl is shocked, wondering what just happened around her.

She falls on the floor, and darkness takes over.

Samrat! Ishu!

Samrat is trying to convince Ishu. His voice seems similar to that of Vineet, the other guy she met at the Central Library.

Ishu? The girl’s voice seems similar to her own. So, did she see herself as Ishu? But what’s the full name?

Ruhana writes the pointers and then begins to read them. All these scenes happen in the same environment. Mostly, she sees a guy in her dreams. It’s the same person whose name she heard in her dream today.

So, the guy who haunts her dreams is Samrat Singh. But she doesn’t know any Samrat, and neither does she know Ishu. But she has met someone similar to Samrat. She doesn’t know if she’s on the right track or not, but she wants to move forward.

She opens her laptop and, as she goes through her search history again, she comes across a term that is hard to believe in the 21st century.

Reincarnation!

Reincarnation is the process when a person takes rebirth. At times, some people experience visions that happen to be of the past, and sometimes they even act or speak as if they belong to some other era or place. Ruhana remembers that dreams often refer to your past life. She doesn’t know if something like this exists, but she wants to learn every bit of it. She needs to find the solutions to her haunting dreams.

As she reads further, she comes across the term “past life.” With this, Ruhana gets conscious; she has begun to believe that a past life exists. She reads the meaning of the same on the Google screen.

“Former period of one’s life.”

“A life lived in a different body.”

These theories have existed for ages. Some people believe it, while some don’t. She now believes that her dreams are signaling her past life.

As she reads further, she learns that people have multiple births; they reincarnate on Earth to fulfill their goals. She’s even read that some people remember their past lives and tend to meet their family from their past life. (A/N: Read from different mythological texts.)

But, in current times, it is hard to believe that concepts like reincarnation and past lives still exist. Ruhana doesn’t know, but the mentions of the names in her dream have startled her. A part of her heart wants to believe that it’s nothing but a mess. On the other hand, she feels that those names are related to her in one way or another.

The question is, how and why did it happen? And if it is reality, then what’s the secret?

Ruhana begins to read the article further, which is about past lives. Moreover, there are some aspects of the human mind. Also, there’s more to the aspect of life.

It’s not just the physical body that we own; there’s a divine energy that drives the human brain. Moreover, there’s intellectual energy, which is one’s intuition, and last but not least, there’s the soul.

They say a person is truly happy when the soul is happy. We should always keep our souls happy.

Ruhana is thoughtful at the moment as she finishes reading the text. She believes in intuition and the soul. Her own name means soul. She’s a person who thinks deeply and soulfully. She makes decisions from her heart and mind. However, she tries to do things when her heart and soul are happy. And here, she believes in the theory of the soul. She begins to read further.

The soul is present in each and every person. And the mind holds all the feelings, emotions, and desires that human beings experience throughout their lives. The mind is of two types – the conscious and the subconscious mind.

The conscious mind stores all the thoughts and feelings that we already know. On the other hand, the subconscious mind controls the conscious mind.

The subconscious mind carries a lot of memories. These memories are related to the incidents that humans face during their lives. Sometimes, these memories are created by significant events during their present or past lives.

Past life experts believe that human beings get reincarnated in every birth to balance the give-and-take accounts. This is the truth as per the mythological texts as well. As humans reincarnate in every birth, their personality is shaped on the basis of all the previous births.

The traits of the personality are stored as impressions in the subconscious mind, and humans experience these impressions in dreams. Moreover, the subconscious mind also has all the memories that are required to achieve destiny in the current life.

However, destiny is that part of life that is beyond anyone’s control. It controls happiness and unhappiness due to karma.

Ruhana is lost in thought as she reads this. It could be the past life when she dreamt about Samrat and Ishu. Now research says that it can be all about past life, but it’s not that easy to believe it.

She tries to jot down the points in her notepad. She’s starting to believe that her dreams have a deep meaning, which is why she’s experiencing them repeatedly. She closes her eyes and sighs deeply when she experiences another visual.

A hazy visual!

She watches herself talking to a girl. There’s a kind of negativity around the girl. There’s a conversation happening between the two ladies. The second lady is threatening her about something.

“Ms. Ishika! Better mind your own business.”

“Stay away from him, or you’ll bear the consequences.”

The visual breaks as her phone rings. It’s Aadhya calling her, and she cuts the call, messaging her that she will call her back in some time. She sighs deeply, pondering over the hazy visual.

“Ishika!”

“So, it’s Ishika! And is Ishika her past birth? Then who is Samrat?”

She sighs as the problem is mystifying and becoming harder with every visual. But she’s hoping to find a solution, and she needs Aadhya’s help.
