FAIR, DAY 2

3  r  d     p   e   r   s   o   n   s     v   i   e   w

the next day weijung made her way to the field, wearing a plain black shirt, pairing it with some black pants and white vans. she held onto her backpack strap as she got closer to her club's booth. once she arrived, jeno and jaemin greeted her with a smile. "hey, pretty." jaemin grins and takes her bag and places it with theirs.

weijung scoffs at his comment, "i ain't pretty, handsome."

jaemin chuckles, "and i'm not handsome either."

"what did you eat for breakfast?" jeno tilts his head, resting both of his hands on the side of his hips.

"i haven't." weijung flashes him a sheepish smile.

jeno rolls his eyes in a playful manner, "as usual."

"i'm not used to it, yet." weijung shrugs, "how 'bout you guys?"

"i've already eaten, but jaemin here, hasn't," jeno says and jabs his thumb towards the boy beside him.

"wanna have breakfast together then?" weijung smiles making jaemin's heart flutter as he returns the smile, answering, "yes! of course."

"be careful, okay?" jeno tells the two as jaemin nodded, "i've got everything in control!" jaemin replies with a wink before slinging an arm around the girl then leaving their booth.

"um, i heard what happened yesterday, jisung and donghyuck took you home, right?" jaemin opens up. "is everything all right?"

weijung pokes his left cheek, "yes, jaemin." she chuckles and looks down.

the girl presses her lips into a thin line before sighing, "i guess i'll just avoid the news for now."

jaemin frowns and gave the girl a squeeze, "i'm right here, don't worry."

weijung gave him a weak smile before pushing the cafeteria door open. the two enter the slightly crowded space, once students started to notice them, whispers and gossips filled the air. it seemed like the news about chenle and hyeri was still going around, and it doesn't seem like it won't stop any time sooner.

weijung avoided their stares and just talked to jaemin. "just ignore them." jaemin whispered as they approached the stalls. jaemin quickly bought their food as they decided to settle somewhere far from some students. luckily, there was an empty spot that didn't seem to be surrounded by many.

as the two ate their lunch, the cafeteria door bursts open revealing chenle, with a hyeri following behind him. it seemed like chenle was really pissed and didn't even bother to spare a glance to the girl following him. he had a cold glare plastered on his face as he walked down the cafeteria, quickly ordering some food before looking for a table.

weijung hissed and looked down, jaemin noticed that and reached for her hand beneath the table. weijung flinched at the sudden warm contact with her cold hands, "i'm fine."

"you know, you eyes say otherwise." jaemin told her and squeezed her hand to comfort her. weijung gave him a look, "thanks."

"no problem, wei. you need it." jaemin said and pats her head before eating his breakfast. weijung ignored everything around her and tried to eat her breakfast in peace, but unfortunately she couldn't.

hyeri just had to come up to their table, dragging chenle with him. "can we sit here? there aren't any more available seats." hyeri questions.

jaemin was about to speak up when hyeri slams the tray onto the table, making weijung flinch and look up to glare at the girl. "yes? we can? thank you!" hyeri grins and takes a sit, pulling chenle down to sit beside him, unfortunately, across weijung.

weijung groans silently, looking around, seeing that there were plenty of empty tables, why choose to sit with them?

"there are a lot of empty tables, why bother sitting with us?" weijung spoke up, staring coldly at hyeri.

hyeri smiles, "i'm gonna become a part of your club anyways, might as well get to know each other."

weijung lifts a brow, "who says you're getting accepted?" she whispers to herself, however jaemin still manage to hear, making him laugh a bit.

"you're lee weijung, right?" hyeri tilts her head.

weijung shrugs, "isn't it obvious?" she questions, pointing at her name pin.

hyeri chuckles, "oh, i just wanted to hear it from you."

annoying. weijung thought.

"i'm going." weijung rolls her eyes, pushing her plate away before leaving the cafeteria, jaemin following her after a few bites.

jaemin quickly caught up with her as they both walked back to the booth. "are you okay?" jaemin questions her again.

weijung nods, "positive!"

"i just don't get it." she chuckles dryly.

"what don't you get?" jaemin raises a brow.

"why the fuck jung hyeri is here."

"you know her?" jaemin looks at her, shocked.

weijung scoffs and crosses her arms, "why wouldn't i know her? she goes to my school, she's an art major."

"you seem to despise her a lot."

"she always gets on my nerves," weijung sighs, "i don't even know why."

jaemin thought for a bit, "maybe you did something to her?"

weijung furrows her brows, "i literally only pay attention to my part at that school, i do nothing but eat, sleep then go to class. she's the one who constantly appears in our department, bumping into me or so."

once they arrived at the booth, she stopped and watched jaemin. "probably because our parents were rivals."

"what do you mean?" jaemin raises a brow.

"well, i talked to my dad about the 'hyeri situation' and he said that he used to be enemies with hyeri's dad, however he also told me that they are good friend's now. i just, i don't know about her mom, and about her on why she annoys me so much," weijung mumbles.

"speaking of the devil." she sighs and walks to back of the booth to get inside.

jisung who was also inside, came up to her to greet her and give her a hug. "how are you feeling?" he asks, running his fingers through her hair a bit.

"fine, i guess," weijung utters and glances at the outside. "just annoyed." she grunts and turns to the other side, grabbing her laptop and started doing her work.

jisung averted his gaze to where weijung glanced and saw jaemin talking to hyeri while chenle was sorting some flyers. he looked back at weijung and saw how engrossed she was with her laptop, and decided that he won't bother her for now. jisung made his way towards chenle, "hey." he murmurs.

chenle looks up to him, "hi."

"so, you have been recently hanging out with her." jisung utters, gesturing his head towards the petite girl who was talking to jaemin.

"no. believe me, i don't want to." chenle disagrees, eyeing hyeri. his gaze went up higher to examine jaemin's expressions, he seemed annoyed as well.

he turns his head back to look at jisung, "i just don't get why she keeps on clinging onto me."

"maybe she likes you." jisung sighs and grabbed a pencil, "we're supposed to be partners, but you've been spending your time on her instead of the club."

"i spent time with you!" chenle says.

"you literally just wrote three words yesterday, i had to write everything i saw suspicious, and i even covered you from mark." jisung scoffs and crossed his arms.

chenle sighs, "i'm sorry. it's just that, everywhere i go, she's there."

jisung glanced at hyeri, narrowing eyes at her, "i'm suspecting you." he whispers lowly.

"jisung? chenle? who's this?" nayoung raises a brow, pointing her pen towards the girl who was now done talking to jaemin.

jaemin cleared her throat, "some new student," he says before leaning closer to nayoung, "remember the article? she's that girl." he murmurs.

nayoung's eyes widened before her face went all bitter and expressionless, "ah, so she's that girl who's been clinging onto chenle lately, huh?" she utters, clenching her fists.

"correct." jeno pops out from the other side, giggling a bit.

"where'd you go?" nayoung questions.

"with mark," he jabs his thumb and mark walks in, a box in his hand.

hyeri's eyes trailed onto the box mark was holding before her eyes landed on chenle. "can i borrow chenle for a bit?" she questions.

but with no one answering her, she took it as a yes, quickly dragging chenle with him as chenle tried to pry her off, but it was no use when she gripped onto his wrist tighter, her nails digging onto his skin a bit making him wince in pain.

meanwhile, weijung rolls her eyes and just stared at her computer screen intently. "and there she goes, off with chenle." she chuckles dryly, giving them a wry smile.

mark sighs and gently placed the box on one of the tables. "i found a note."

weijung's ears perked up, "where?"

"outside the club room. it was just... there." he utters and grabs the note laying on top of the box, handing it to weijung.

weijung furrows her brows in confusion, "it's in chinese again."

"what are these?" mark tilts his head.

"they are clues, we have more back at the headquarters. i'll talk to renjun about this, i'll inform you guys if we've solved it." weijung mumbled and stuffs the note in her pocket.

weijung was about to stand up when her pocket buzzed. she fished out her phone and it was a new contact, another unknown contact.

UNKNOWN.
— that's your last clue.

UNKNOWN.
— a hidden message awaits you.

UNKNOWN.
— you and renjun must go to the fountain
at 3AM later, there, another note waits for you.

weijung blinked a couple of times before stuffing her phone back in her pocket again. she stood up, "i'm gonna go look for renjun."

"he's in the library." jeno informs.

weijung nods, "thanks."

she quickly left the booth and went straight to the library. however, what she didn't notice, was that someone was watching her again, smirking as the person's plan finally worked again.
