Lucy's POV

"You said... My name.." Natsu mumbles.

I don't speak, finding I have no words.

"Luce, you said my name." He repeats.

"Yeah, but-" he cuts me off by placing both of his hands over mine holding them down and leaning closer to my face.

He stares at my eyes.

"What does that mean?" He asks.

"It, well it means my heart wants you..." I whisper almost inaudibly.

I squeeze my eyes shut.

"But I know Lisanna likes you and that you have a crush on her! So it's pointless really!" I gush.

Suddenly Natsu's hands lift from mine, and I hear my door open and shut.

I don't have to open my eyes to know he's gone.

Because I can feel the ache in my heart triple, and the familiar comfortable warmth he gives off was gone.

I burrowed into my blankets and let tears seep from my eyes.

~*~ Timeskip: next day ~*~

I woke up feeling like a bag of bricks.

There was a heavy weight on my chest, and the ache hadn't dulled.

I push myself from bed and change, and then eat some food. I grab my keys and slowly start to walk back to the guild.

"It's better this way Lucy." I tell myself.

"He will have his childhood crush, and they both like each other so they will both be happy."

I practice putting on a smile.

I get to the guild and notice it's not as rowdy as usual.

"I wonder what's going on.."

I walk over Mirajane.

"Why does it feel different today?" I ask her.

"Hm? Well Natsu and Lisanna just left. They didn't say where to though." She sighs.

My heart plummets. "Lucy, get a grip!" I yell at myself.

"Natsu said to tell you not to do anything while he was gone." Mirajane tells me.

"I'm usually the one telling him that!" I can't help but giggle.

"Why don't you stay here at the guild today?" Mira asks.

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." I nod.

I walk over to a table where Happy, Levy, Erza and Gray sit. "Hello minna!" I greet them.

"Hey Lu-chan!" Levy grins at me.

"Where's Wendy and Charle?" I ask looking around.

"On a mission." Erza says.

"It seems she's keeping busy." Levy comments.

"Charle..." Happy sighs.

~*~ Timeskip: end of the day ~*~

Some of our guild mates where already heading home. I sat alone at a table, not sure what to do.

I stood up.

"I'm going home Mira." I tell her.

"Lucy, why don't you wait here a little longer." Mira suggests.

"Thank you, but I'd rather go back to my apartment." I turn her down.

I get outside when I see Natsu and Lisanna walking back.

"Lucy!" Lisanna waves to me.

I smile at her and wave, she was still my friend.

"Natsu told me what happened." She tells me.

"So is that why you were gone today?" I ask her.

"No, actually I wanted to go visit the forest where we used to play together." She laughs.

"Oh, well I'm going home." I wave to them and start to leave.

"Wait, Luce." Natsu's voice makes me freeze.

"Lucy, I used to like Natsu, but I don't anymore. Not like that. And he feels the same." Lisanna says from behind me.

I turn around. "But I thought-" Lisanna shook her head.

"Thank you though Lucy." She smiles and runs into the guild, leaving me alone with Natsu.

"I'm sorry I left last night, I just didn't know how to handle it." He says rubbing the back of his head.

"Baka, you made me think you didn't like me at all!" I shake my head.

"But I do like you Lucy." He tells me.

My breath catches.

I turn around so he doesn't see me blushing.

"You could have explained things." I mutter.

I was suddenly turned around and Natsu held my arms.

His face was only inches from mine.

"Well I am now, and I like you Lucy. A lot."
