New Lands

Alex awoke the next day or a few days later, it didn't matter to him. He made sure his hat was on correctly and looked around the crate. His eye was glowing more vibrantly. That was a warning sign. He growled quietly and spotted a heavy jacket, sliding it on.

Alex climbed up to the deck and sprinted across it, leaping over the edge and landing on the port. He felt proud of himself until he realized he had created some attention for himself. He shrank away in his jacket and took off, not wanting the attention anymore.

His plan was going smoothly, run, find forest area, hide. But he ran right into someone and fell to the ground, right on his sensitive tail. That generated another small growl from Alex as he looked up to see who it was. It was a kid around his age with dark skin and chocolate brown eyes.

"Are you okay?" They asked, looking at Alex and offering a hand to help him up. Alex nodded and took the offer, getting up. It took a good amount of willpower not to check his tail to see if it was okay.

"So uh, I'm Aaron Burr! Who are you?" Aaron pointed to Alex and Alex gave a small smile. "A-Alexander Hamilton." Aaron smiled back. Alex didn't want to reveal too much with the fear that Aaron might end up like some of the kids from his old school. They bullied and shamed Alex relentlessly for being a hybrid. It was Alex's fault for them finding out but those insults stuck with him up until now.

"That's a cool name!" Someone called Aaron over. "Aw man, I gotta go. Maybe we can talk later?" Alex nodded and Aaron pressed something into his palm before skipping off.

Alex looked at it, it was a number, a phone number to be exact. Alex slid his slightly outdated phone out of his back pocket and put in Aaron's number in before continuing on his journey.

The sun was setting and Alex knew he was pushing his boundaries. Alex walked through an abandoned area, growling as he tried to look for something to eat. This feeling was going to be the death of him, he knew it. He didn't notice how bad it got when a pain shot through his head for a fourth time now. He fell to the ground and scooted as much as he could off the road, which wasn't much. He curled up into a ball and held his head, trying not to give in.

A hand on Alex's shoulder caused him to jump and growl at whoever it was, glaring at them with the faint glow from his eyes barely forming details of the stranger who found Alex.

"A wolf hybrid.." They muttered and Alex's widened as he sat up and scooted away from the person. "Nono I won't hurt you, I promise." They pleaded and for whatever reason Alex trusted them. Maybe because he genuinely trusted them? Ha, no. Maybe because he wanted to trust someone other than Mary.

They carefully picked Alex up and put the boy into their car. Normally Alex would've fought back but he was much too weak to do anything. As Alex looked around, the gentle embrace of sleep overtook the boy.

He awoke on a couch in the house. He didn't notice it but his hat and jacket were off. He seemed to be relieved for a few seconds before for whimpering again and holding his head. He heard scattered phases like "George are you crazy you can't just bring a hybrid in our house!" Or "Of all types why a wolf hybrid??" But that all stopped when Alex started whimpering. George came running in next to Alex.

"Are you okay?" Alex weakly shook his head and pointed to his stomach then the door. "You're hungry..?" Alex nodded and tried to crawl off the couch but was held back, which caused Alex to glare at George with burning eyes. "How bad is it?" Alex was slipping between control of his other side and held up his hands. Normally when he was calm he could change between nails and claws at will but in extreme cases such as this, they stay as claws.

George nodded in understanding and helped Alex to the door. "Could you try and come back, it's dangerous for you to be alone out there." Alex froze then sniffed George before nodding and running off into the darkness, finally losing control as Mary took over. George sighed and closed the door.

"Da?" A small voice with French accent said from the top of the stairs. "Who was that?"

"No one to worry about yet Laf, if they come back you might find yourself with a special brother" George said with a smile.

The smol French bab gasped excitedly and in seconds was sitting next to George. "I wanna meet them too!" Laf demanded and George couldn't help but say yes as they waited for Alex to return.
