POV Person 3rd

After James had left, Alex started to feel weird. Like, weird beyond comprehension. Not to mention he was a lot more hungrier than usual and nothing seemed to be satisfying him.

He complained to George about it and he was allowed to stay home until whatever was happening would calm down. George would just bring Alex his homework when he got back from work, which Alex was grateful for. Days went by without no signs of feeling better for Alex.

Tonight, however, was one of the more painful nights as Alex whimpered in his bed, trying to calm down and suppress whatever was going on with him. He decided to just go out to the forest to calm himself down since the forest seemed to be the only place where he could truly be free without the restricting rules enforced on hybrids like himself.

Meanwhile in the Jefferson household, James was sitting on Thomas' bed as Thomas paced back and forth in a panicked manner.

"I don't know what came over me, it just felt so right...too right..." Thomas thought more about Andre's words growing more frustrated with every passing minute.

"Thomas, how about you go take a walk in the forest? That always calms you down, right?" Thomas sighed and nodded. "Then go do that, I'll talk to Aaron about this," James got up and gave Thomas a quick hug before leaving. Thomas hopped through the window and trekked his way through the darkened forest, his illuminating eyes being the only sign of him there.

Alex sat in the center of an opening, eating an unfortunate racoon who just happened to stumble upon the boy. He didn't even care at this point, anything to dull that urge he had. A rustle in the leaves caused his ears to perk up and he looked around, growling quietly.

He spotted a pair of glowing red eyes through the trees. Normally, he would tense up more thinking of the fact that it was another hybrid that would be there to attack him, but no, instead he felt calmer. In a sense he felt as if he could trust the person.

"Thomas?" Alex said quietly, hoping his guess was correct.

"The one and only," Thomas grinned and hopped down the tree, landing in front of Alex. "Whats got you here shortstack?" Thomas pat Alex on the head, to which Alex let out an angry huff.

"I could ask you the same thing," Alex mumbled and smacked Thomas' hand away.

"I've been having some...problems lately and I came here to calm down and fix whatever it was," Thomas explained while looking around. He spotted the remains of the unfortunate racoon then looked back at Alex. "I'm assuming it's the same thing for you too?"

Alex sighed and nodded, sitting down on the ground and looking up at Thomas. "Its the cravings...they have been getting worse and I don't know what to do."

Thomas sat in front of Alex and stared at him. "Its been the same for me too, and uh," Thomas trailed off, not wanting to explain what he did.

Alex just waited for a response, looking into Thomas' eyes. He never realized how similar they were to each other, and he liked them.

It starts with a small bond, noticing common aspects of the other and feeling a sense of calmness around them.

"I uh...may have gone too far but I don't want to explain how..." Thomas looked down but felt a gentle hand on his cheek. Thomas sighed and leaned into Alex's hand, closing his eyes.

"Its fine if you don't want to talk about it," Alex said simply, not moving his hand.

They stayed in silence for a bit, it was a comfortable silence.

A sense of trust, as if you've known the other all your life.

"This isn't so bad, kinda nice actually," Thomas mumbled, reaching over and rubbing Alex's fluffy ears. "Holy shit these are soft."

Alex almost immediately started purring as his tail swung lazily behind him. "I get that a lot, nothing can top them," Alex grinned and twitched his ears a bit.

When a bond is finally established, the two hybrids will work together to accomplish any goals they may have.

Another rustle in the forest caused them both to snap up.

"You think they'll be here this time?"

"Hopefully, boss will pay us big time if we can catch those darned creatures"

The steps trudged closer and Alex looked to Thomas.

"Y'know..." Alex mumbled, letting animal instinct take over easily. "I am quite hungry, what about you?"

A sly grin spread on Thomas' face, revealing his sharp fangs. "Same here, and there's just no way I'd be able to handle them on my own, mind you helped?" Thomas got up and so did Alex, who grinned as well, revealing his own sharp canines.

"It'd only be rude if I declined, so sure," Alex responded, flexing his fingers and fiddling with his claws.

They both linked eyes again as if they formed a telepathic plan, they stepped into the forest. Thomas engulfed himself into the shadows and Alex ran silently around the trees.

Alex met the group of men first. Normally, he'd back off knowing he wouldn't be able to take them by himself but today he wasn't alone. He glanced around and yanked the closest person into the trees and gripped at their throat, ripping their throat out before they could even scream.

1 dow- another was yanked back with a small yelp before they fell silent. Make that 2 down.

3 more to go.

The remaining 3 looked around warily as Alex set the corpse down and circled around them. He met Thomas' gaze and nodded. They both lunged at the two hunters standing there and Alex snapped one man's neck and Thomas did the same.

They began to feast on their new catch as a team happily. They felt very successful and whatever urges they were having earlier seemed to melt away.

Alex got up and went to retrieve the other bodies when an alarming thought came up.

"Wait I thought there were 5 hunt-" He let out a loud yelp and fell to the ground, gripping his already bleeding side as he glared up at the male.

"You might've killed my crew, but I got you now hybrid," the hunter grinned. He took another stab at Alex's stomach and Alex whimpered, trying to scoot away.

The hunter didn't get away, however, as Thomas aggressively bit down on his neck. He waited a bit to make sure the hunter was dead before scrambling over to Alex, who had managed to lean against a tree as he tried to stop the bleeding.

"Thomas...it hurts..." Alex whimpered and shut his eyes, wincing everytime he moved as tears rolled down his cheeks.

"Fuck...sorry this is gonna hurt," Thomas mumbled, picking Alex up. Alex groaned in pain but relaxed in Thomas' arms as Thomas dashed off towards James' place.

"Aaron open up!" James knocked on Aaron's window until it opened.

"Okay damn, come in," Aaron motioned James to get in, which James did.

"What did you want to talk about Jemmy?" Aaron crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow.

"I'm assuming you know about Thomas and Alex being hybrids, right?"

"Yeah, they trusted me enough to tell for some reason"

"Okay good, have you noticed them acting strange lately? Like, more animal Like if that makes sense?"

Aaron thought about it then nodded.

"Alex would always growl to himself when people he hated passed by, which was a lot of people. Not to mention his eyes seem more...red?"

"Ah, odd. I was wondering if you knee anything about what it meant because Thomas uh..." James trailed off, which only made Aaron more curious.

"Thomas what?"

"He may have...killed someone?"

"...wHAT?!"

"I don't know but it was that Andre kid. He said something about their symptoms getting worse? Something about mates or whatever"

"I think I've heard of that before," Aaron muttered and went over to his bed, pulling out a laptop. He typed something in and motioned for James to sit next to him.

James obliged and sat next to Aaron and looked on the screen.

"Hybrid cravings?" James asked, confused.

"It would make sense, what else could drive Thomas to murder without a second thought to it?"

"Yeah true"

"It says that wolf and bat hybrids are usually the worst when it comes to this, which coincidentally Alex and Thomas are," Aaron pointed out.

James nodded and his gaze averted to Aaron's face. How serious he looked, eyes on the laptop and brows drawn in concentration. He had a crush on the boy for a while but never had the courage to tell him.

"You're quite pretty..." James mumbled quietly, unaware that the two were literally sitting right next to each other.

Aaron's cheeks heated up and he glanced at James, who seemed to have noticed his mistake and looked back at the laptop.

"Thanks...you too," Aaron muttered, holding back a grin as James became flustered.

"Uh, anyways if they do have this craving thing then maybe trying Andrew's approach with the mating thing would work? Hybrids are so confusing, you'd think it would be easier with the advantages it gives you but no, you have to be at perfect harmony with both sides to function well," James stated, trying to shove down any flustered feelings he had.

"Yeah, but if I were a hybrid, I would've already found my mate"

"And who would that be Aaron?"

Aaron glanced back at James and without a moment's hesitation pressed a kiss to James' lips.

James tensed up then relaxed into the kiss. He was almost saddened when Aaron pulled away.

"It'd be you," Aaron smiled and closed the laptop.

"Does this mean you..." James looked hopeful and beamed when Aaron nodded.

"Damn that was fast," Aaron mumbled, silently scooting closer to James.

"Fast, yes. Amazing? Hell yeah," James pressed another kiss to Aaron's lips with a bit more passion.

The kiss heated up but didn't get far as someone began knocking on the door.
