Chapter Fifty-Five

I begin to stir awake to the feeling of warm, soft lips on my cheekbones and temples. The warmth of his breath and body next to me keeping me content in the chilly hotel room. His long fingers run through my hair to give him access to my shoulder as he does his best to gently wake me.

I'm fully conscious, but why on earth would I let him know that and stop him from freely giving all of this affection? When we lived together, mornings like this were a common thing. Not to say I took it for granted, but not being able to wake up to this every day anymore certainly made me appreciate these moments even more.

"I know you're awake." He smiles against my shoulder, but continues to plant kisses.

"Mmhmm." I groggily reply before clearing my throat. "So?"

Turning on my back, I smile up at him with eyes that will barely open. He chuckles at my fatigue and peppers kisses along my jawline and lips, only aiding to the difficulty to find the strength to actually get up for the day.

But when a knock on his hotel room door makes my heart damn near fall out of my body, all the energy I'm looking for suddenly appears.

Crap! I'm going to be the one caught by one of his parents this time. It won't be him trying to steal my virtue, it'll be me being the little American whore willingly giving it away.

The fact that I'm actually willing to is beside the point.

With Taehyung being partially on top of me, I push him off as hard as I can and make a beeline for the only semi-hidden place in this room.

The closet.

Even though that's where he was caught hiding in my room, I'm hoping that they may not suspect that I'd be the one hiding like I'm on an episode of Cheaters.

"Jagi..." He says through a barrel of laughter, "baby, baby. It's okay! It's just room service."

Reaching into the closet to pull me out, he's barely able to hold back his giggles. Especially when he sees my disheveled bed head and overly round eyes with dilated pupils.

"Room service?" I murmur, beginning to giggle myself with my heart still feeling like it will beat out of my chest.

"Yeah babe. Just room service." He starts to calm down with his smile refusing to leave his face as he smooths out my hair and kisses my forehead.

He opens the door so the hotel staff can wheel in the white cloth covered cart with three covered dishes on top.

I feel like an idiot, but oh well. At least he got a good laugh out of it. Even if it was at my expense.

He tips the employee and smiles back at me while he pulls me to sit down to eat. "My parents texted me saying they were going out for breakfast before we fly out. We're good. I told them we'd just have breakfast together in one of our rooms."

I smirk and shake my head at his little idea to keep our slumber party a secret. It may not be the best plan that one has come up with, but we won't be caught and that's all I care about.

After breakfast, he walks me back to my room so that I can get all of my things packed. As much as I loved our little short vacation in London, I do actually miss Seoul and wonder if Jimin and Jungkook enjoyed their time off as well.

The long flight back to Seoul yesterday wasn't so bad. Since Taehyung has school tomorrow, he ended up sleeping most of the way to try to fight the jet lag before it can set in. Unfortunately, his school doesn't get as much of a holiday break as I do but at least I'll still get to see him whenever he's not in class.

It was a rainy day in Seoul so our plans to spend the day outside by the Han River came to a screeching halt. The thunder rolled through the dark gray sky making it seem like it was much later than it actually was while fat rain drops smacked against the hotel window.

Taehyung and I laid in bed most of the day watching movie after movie. Thankfully most of them had subtitles available so I wasn't completely lost or we'd end up finding an English movie that we thought we'd enjoy. Spending the afternoon curled up next to him with my head resting on his shoulder after such a long flight is honestly just what I needed. But as the day rolls on, I'm starting to grow bored with the laziness.

"Getting sleepy?" He asks as he hears me yawn for the third time since the next movie began.

"A little but I'm just tired of watching movies." I respond when craning my neck up to look at him.

His eyes grow softer as they meet mine and a small smile curls up at the corner of his mouth.

"You're beautiful." He whispers as he kisses my forehead.

Knowing he thinks I look beautiful even when my hair is a disheveled mess, I have no makeup on and I'm lounging about in sweatpants and and his oversized T-shirt makes me feel so cherished. Like even on my worst days, he'd still find me attractive.

Propping myself up on my elbow, I look back up at him with puppy dog eyes when my chin nuzzles on to his warm chest. His eyes go into slits as his smile widens at my innocent expression.

"I'm hungry babe." I stick out my bottom lip.

He looks over to the window on the other end of the hotel room and then back at me with a shrug. "If you don't mind the rain, we could go out otherwise we can just order in."

Since there's no way in hell I'll be walking around a foreign country by myself when I can barely speak the language, I know I'll be cooped up in this room while he's in class and laying down all day has my body sore. I give it one more thought and ultimately decide to brave the storm.

It's not like it's a typhoon or anything...

The rain completely soaks us by the time we run inside of the small cafe he recommended from the closest parking spot we could find. The umbrella did absolutely nothing for us with the wind blowing as hard as it is. Taehyung's wet hair only added to his sexiness while mine made me look like a drowned rat with some of it soaked and other parts just frizzy.

Thunder shook the walls of the cafe while lightning shot through the dark overcast sky as I sit down at the two person table. For it to be such a large city, the heavy storm made the ambiance feel more like a small town with only a handful of people in the cafe with us.

"Are you cold?" Taehyung asks noticing me shivering and rubbing sleeves over my arms. He drapes his coat over my shoulders and it instantly begins warm me.

"Thank you." I smile fondly before looking down at the menu.

"Is there anything you're in the mood for?" He asks knowing I'm struggling to be able to read everything available. I'm mainly just going by what looks good on the picture.

"Some kind of stew or soup. It's one of those days." I murmur while continuing to browse.

The front door chimes and makes my ears perk up at the noise but otherwise we pay it no mind. With there only being so many people out, I'm surprised anyone else decided to get out in this mess.

"Kim Taehyung?" I hear a female's voice say just moments later.

"Oh fuck." He groans and rolls his eyes trying to pretend he didn't hear anyone speaking to him.

"Who is it?" I whisper while glancing over the edge of my menu.

"My ex." He grimaces in response.

As if summoned, two thin females stroll up to the table smiling and finger combing their partially wet, but still straight tresses. One in particular carrying a Louis Vuitton bag, stares directly at Taehyung with a wide smile while the other young woman looks me up and down as if I'm in unwelcomed territory. Refusing to cower down under her gaze, I smile sweetly and bow my head.

"Park Eun-ji." Taehyung bows to the one who has been staring at me. "Kang Da-mi." He flatly acknowledges the other girl who I assume is the ex by his tone.

"Annyeong!" Both females bow and smile towards him in unison. "Jaljinaeyo?" Da-mi questions, still not acknowledging my presence.

"I'm fine." He responds in English. "This is my girlfriend, Ava Young. Ava this is Kang Da-mi and Park Eun-ji."

I bow my head again once Da-mi finally looks my way.

Her expression turns into overly dramatic shock as she locks eyes with mine, her hands coming up to press against her cheeks. Eun-ji smirks and cocks her head to look me up and down. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't even see you!" She responds in a thick accent coupled with horrible acting.

"No worries. Bangawoyo." I say cooly.

"Oh good Korean." She gives nothing short of a fake compliment. "Taehyung must be preparing you to move here." Looking back over to him, she almost unnoticeably narrows her eyes.

"I'm actually moving to the states after school. Ava mainly learned Korean for when she met my parents on Christmas." Taehyung smiles with his eyes remaining emotionless.

"Bumonim? Jinjja?" Eun-ji speaks up in an exasperated tone before giggling and covering her mouth.

"Ne. Jinjja." Taehyung responds.

"But she's a foreigner." Da-mi looks over at me and furrows her brow as if she's showing some kind of fake sympathy. "No offense of course."

"Why would I be offended?" I curiously question, "It's not like his parents didn't approve of me."

The look on her face was priceless. His mom and I were just texting each other this morning actually about how we should go shopping again and get some facials done together before I have to leave. So even though Little Miss Bitter wants to get under my skin, I have zero reason to allow her to.

"Was there anything else you wanted, Da-mi? You know I blocked you. Obviously we're not friends or anything." Taehyung adds during the awkward silence.

"Aniyo." Da-mi replies with a saddened tone and the rims of her eyes reddening. For a moment, I feel bad for her. But she is clearly just one of those girls who must have who and whatever they want and when they can't get it, it hurts their pride.

"Annyeong." Taehyung bows as a way to let them know this interaction is over with.

Both of them walk away and sit down at a table adjacent to us. Far enough away so that we can't hear their conversation, but close enough so that they can stay focused on us.

I get it, she's curious about his new girlfriend and how he interacts with me, but the whole ordeal just seems a bit juvenile and stalker-ish. All we wanted to do is have lunch together outside of the four walls of the hotel room and now we're being watched as if we're the accompanying show to their meal.

"Sorry we ran into her." He smiles over at me while reaching over to grab my hand.

"Babe, it's fine and she ran into us. Anyway, what do you suggest from this place?" I wink and pick back up the menu.

He smiles at me and squeezes my hand before letting go and looking back over the small book of laminated pages filled with many delicious choices. Throughout the rest of our lunch, we continue to chat about our lives and what we're excited about. We reminisce about the past summer we had together and the adventures we shared.

If I didn't know better, I'd say we were coming around full circle. Unknowingly closing some sort of chapter on our lives and time together. Maybe it's simply because my time in Seoul is drawing to an end and we don't know when the next time we'll be able to be in each other's presence again. But as I watch him smile at me and hear the sound of his giggle that almost doesn't match his normal baritone voice, my heart feels full and for once I don't worry about the future.

Because as for right now at least, I'm where I'm meant to be and who I'm meant to be with.
