You flew to Galuna Island quickly, dropping down onto the shore. You looked around, trying to spot any of them. With a sigh, your wings disappeared and you began to walk across the beach. A few feet away, you saw a mop of pink hair from the sand.

"Natsu!" You quickly ran up to him, kneeling down and flipping him over. He was unconscious and probably will be from the whirlpool they were sucked under. It was a miracle they washed upon the island.

'The others must be somewhere close.' Leaving his side, you walked farther.

"Gray!" Seeing the ice wizard lying face-down into the sand, you jogged up to him and flipped him, checking him over.

'Nothing seems to be wrong.' You picked him up bridal style and walked him back over to where Natsu was, lying him down next to him.

'Where's Lucy and Happy?' Your next search was the cat.
You found him five minutes later almost completely submerged in sand. You plucked him out and dropped him next to Natsu.

'Now, all that's left is Lucy.' You set off looking for her. It took you a little while more, since she was somehow thrown farther than anyone else. You picked her up and also set her down next to the other three.
From the looks of it, they won't be waking up any time soon.
You plopped down against a tree and closed your eyes slowly. Hopefully one of them will wake you up when they regain consciousness.

"Y/n. Y/n. Y/n!"

"It's no use. She's out cold. She probably hadn't gotten enough sleep again."

"I did notice dark circles under her eyes."

"Aye! Y/n hardly sleeps and when she does, it's normally at the guild."
Your eyes twitched, a low groan escaping.

"Oh!! She's waking up!"
Slowly, you opened you eyes. Natsu was right there in front of your face, beaming at you. All three of them were awake and the sun was already beginning to rise into the sky.

"You guys..." You said tiredly.

"Hey. Did you get a nice sleep?" Gray asked from the side. You nodded slowly, rubbing your eyes.

"Yeah. She didn't—" You paused, "—I didn't have any trouble." The others didn't notice your stutter because Natsu stood up.

"Let's go, Y/n! We're gonna go to a village on this island," he said, holding out his hand. You took it and hauled yourself up.

"Okay," you said, shaking your head a bit. "Lead the way, then."

A whole day passed by the time you reached the village. When you arrived there, there was a tall wooden wall surrounding it with a KEEP OUT sign hanging from it.

"It's nice that we made it here, but what's this?" Gray asked.

"It's a gate," you replied flatly. He just deadpanned at you in disgust (same).

"What does it mean, 'keep out'?" Natsu added.

"Excuse me! Please open up!" Lucy yelled. It was silent for a few seconds.

"Should I break it down?" You asked.

"NO!"

"Who's there?!" Two heads poked themselves over the top of the gate.

"We're from the Fairy Tail wizard guild!" Lucy called back up.

"Nobody notified us about the job being accepted!"
A vein popped in your forehead. All three of them jumped away from you.

"THERE WAS JUST A MIX UP WITH PAPERWORK, THEN!"

"Show us your emblems!"
Natsu showed them his shoulder, Lucy showed them her hand, Gray pulled up his shirt, and you also pulled up your shirt where your emblem was on your rib. After that, the gate slowly opened upwards, revealing the inside.

"It's like we're going into a giant monster's mouth," Happy said.

"Stop being a lil' bitch." You led the group inside, stopping in front of a shorter person holding a staff of some sort.

"I am Moka, the chief of this island village," he said from behind the cloth. "Let's get right down to business. Please have a look. Everyone!"

'Oh god please don't whip out your penis.'
All of them removed the cloth, revealing parts of their bodies have turned demonic.

"Just like the man on the boat," Gray said from behind you.

"Yeah," Lucy replied.

"CRAZY SIDEBURNS!!"
You looked at each of them, narrowing your eyes at them slightly.

"Everything on this island is affected by this curse. Even dogs and birds," Moka explained.

"Oh god, not the dogs."

"I don't mean to question you, but what makes you believe it's a curse? Couldn't it be a contagious disease?" Gray asked.

"I mean, you just questioned him, but go off."

"We've consulted dozens of doctors, but they say no such disease exists," Moka replied, "Plus, the moon's magic has something to do with us taking these forms."

"The moon's magic?" You raised a brow at them.

"This island has absorbed moonlight since ancient times. It made the entire island shine beautiful like the moon. However, some years ago, the moon's light suddenly turned purple."

"A purple moon?" Natsu repeated.

"Oh! The moon is coming out!" Happy looked up at the sky. All of you followed his gaze. Moving out from the clouds was the moon, donning a purple hue.

"It's true! The moon is purple!" Lucy breathed.

"Now this is creepy," Gray added.

"It's a curse," Moka said quietly, "This is the moon's magic." When you looked back down at him, you noticed sweat accumulating on his face. A second after that, all of the villagers began to scream in pain. The three of them jumped in shock, looking around at each of them in surprise. You just stood there, watching on.

'They're turning into demons.' You thought, looking around. When they were done screaming, they seemed to go back to normal—well, as normal as a demon could be.

"I apologize for the shock," Mako said.

"What in the world is this?" Gray asked.

"You poor people," Lucy added.

"You're so... you're so cool!!"
Leaving everyone dumbfounded—except you—Natsu continued to rant.

"You're so lucky! I want some horns and spikes too!"

"I can give you horns and spikes too, you know."

"AAAGHGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!" He hid behind Lucy.

"Pull your shit together," you said with a sigh. "They don't like being like this. Learn to read situations."

"Seriously?! My bad! We'll have to do something, then!"
You sighed again and shook your head.

"Anyway, as you can see, we take on the forms of demons whenever the purple moon is out. If this isn't a curse, what else is it?!"

Your head spun around to look behind you. Eyes darting everywhere it could see.

"Y/n?" Lucy called.

"What's wrong?" Gray asked, poking his head in front of Lucy.

"... nothing," you replied after a minute.

'Stay out of this.'

"Come morning, we'll all be back to normal," Moka continued to explain, "However, there are some who lose their minds and never change back."
For a quick second, your façade cracked, but patched right up. No one noticed. Or at least, you thought no one did.

"We've since made it a rule to kill those who transform into mindless monsters."
Your fingers twitched subconsciously. A deep, malicious chuckle echoed through your head. It wasn't yours.
You closed your eyes, a slight pounding presenting itself at the back of your head.

"Hey, Y/n? Are you okay?" Natsu asked, brows furrowing together.

"Yeah, just..." You reached up to massage your head. "... a headache, is all."

"Perhaps the moon's magic is affecting you too," Moka suggested. You looked at him and softly smiled.

"Perhaps it is," you lied.
