Chapter | 5
Hey guys, just wanted to inform you, there's a slightly heated moment in this chapter up ahead.

Here's your coffee, Miss." The waiter smiled charmingly at her, handing her another cup of black coffee. Her third one, to be exact.
"Thank you." She mutters, sipping her coffee, her eyes focused on her tablet, as she scrolled through the news.
She found nothing interesting as she scrolled. Celebrity scandals, new trends, politicians making fools of themselves... The usual mediocre stuff you read every day.
But then something sparked her interest.
Something about her.
'HER ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCESS ALINA RUNS AWAY FROM HOME'
"What in the world.." She mutters as she read the article. Without thinking further, she slammed a hundred dollar bill on the table and stormed out, calling her brother's number.
But he simply ignored her call. Angrily, she texted him.
Where the hell are you? Have you seen the news?
Without waiting for his reply, she stood, slammed a hundred dollar bill to the table and furiously made towards her Mercedes, and set off.
There was only one place where she could go and calm herself, the one place she had found relaxing enough to spend time in, the only calming spot that she had the pleasure to come across in Gotham.
The bay.
There was something about the waves, that calmed her. She enjoyed listening to the sound of the sea, ever since she could remember.
As she stood there, nothing mattered anymore. She closed her eyes, inhaling the familiar salty scent of the sea. A scent she was sure she'd never forgotten.
The sounds of waves crashing were music to her ears.
She stood so close near the edge, that if she took one more step, she'd fall into the sea.
She hated the attention. She couldn't understand why people loathed her that much.
Well, she knew why, and that is probably due to her bossy, ignorant self. And that she may have a bit of attitude. Okay, a lot.
But that did not give the people any kind of right to repudiate her.
"Are you trying to kill yourself?" Damian's familiar voice appeared behind her and startled her.
"Huh? What? No!-"
And it was too late. She slipped near the edge, her small body falling into the cold, deep sea water. She felt shivers down her body, as she felt the freezing water enveloping her body.
And then she felt it. His two strong hands, pulling her towards his chest, getting her out of the water.
As he got her out of the water, he delicately placed her body on the asphalt, kneeling down beside her, ignoring the fact that he was soaked as well.
Alina's eyes opened wide, as she started coughing, letting out all the sea water. Water oozed down her nose, the irritating feeling of having sea water running up her nose irritated her. And what made it worse, it was freezing.
"You scared me to death, Wayne!" She shrieked as she stood up, removing her jacket furiously.
"Yeah, well, I jumped in there to save you." He murmurs, as she notices he happened to also be soaking wet. How could he handle the cold water of the sea?
As she removed her sweatshirt, her T-Shirt accidentally got caught in it, entirely revealing her waist to her black lacy bra to Damian.
"Oh God." She wheezes as she felt her hands stuck.
Damian's gaze traveled from her covered face to her bra and saw something else entirely.
A scar.
An old scar, deep and red, just below her left breast.
How did she get that scar..?
Realization hit him. Damian's face instantly reddened, seeing something he wasn't supposed to.
He quickly looked away, and walked to his car, taking a spare T-shirt he happened to carry in his car.
"Here. I have a spare shirt." He said, still looking away and handing her the spare shirt.
"Thanks." She replied quickly.
Alina removed her wet clothing and accepted Damian's black shirt.
"You can look now. I'm done." She sighs as she finishes putting the top on.
Damian looked back, nodding. They stood awkwardly for a few seconds before she yelled.
"Are you out of your mind? Scaring me like that? Jesus!" She yells, throwing her arms in the air, droplets of water dripping from her drenched head.
Damian raised an eyebrow.
"I wasn't trying to scare you. I had business to attend.. here." He mutters.
"What kind of business you do here down at the bay?" She responds, bewildered. There was only one bar and a few dozen cargo containers by the bay.
"As I said, I'm a stripper and I'm gay. As you can see, I'm also a prostitute. And this is where I get to work without anyone recognizing me." He replies simply, smirking slyly.
Alina stared at him as if he had grown two heads.
"You're shitting me." She answered.
"I'm not." He sighs. Alina wanted to believe him for a second, but she just couldn't. He was lying. He had to.
"I can sense you're lying, Wayne. And one day, I'm going to find out that tiny little secret of yours."
Owhh! Will she though? Perhaps ;)
Alina : 1 | Damian : 1
If I could, If only, I'd fly to Hawaii with my cats. My family is stressing me out. Yep.
But I can't, my finals are coming up soon.
And then goodbye Highschool!
So I'm going to University in August. Guess what major am I taking? Arts. Yep. I've always enjoyed painting and drawing sketches, and especially reading books.
In other words, I enjoy activities that do not require social interactions.
Anyways thank you for reading, as always! Writing this book makes me forget about my real life problems, and I don't plan on stopping writing anytime soon.
Love,
Sophia ⚜️
