Chapter | 33

I watched Justice League two times in the cinema. Two.

Taliana sat, facing me, restless. Her hair was disheveled, and she wore the simplest clothing.

As for me? I was chaotic. Hours ago, Aria had contacted us, explaining what had happened to Alina. The next thing I knew was the explosion at the Vanderbilt tower.

I can't lose her. I can't lose my sister. And now we were here, on a private jet, on the way to Gotham.

"When will we arrive?" I ask the butler, standing by the door. He disappears into the cockpit, and comes back again.

"In a few hours, my Grace."

"Very well, you are dismissed. Leave us alone, please." I mutter, as Taliana sends a curious glance. I extend my arm towards her, and she quickly nods, standing up, sitting next to me.

I breathe into her hair, calming myself down. She smelled of jasmine, which I adored.

Liana had been a mess for the past hours, knowing what had happened to my sister. But according to Ariana's call, there was someone taking care of the situation;

Someone who'd risk it all for Alina.

"Any news?" The woman took a sip of her wine, contemplating the night sky. Her fingers twitched, aching for a fight.. A blood fight.

"She's almost awake."A voice replied, standing behind her. She turned around, closing her eyes, taking a deep breath.

"The new antidote better work, Hayden." She breathes out, throwing her wine, the glass smashing against the window.

As he was about to open his mouth, a beeping was heard, loud, busting through the building.

"Get the assassins on guard. She must be awake." She mutters, running through him, grabbing her sword by the door.

Screams echoed by the main hall, covered by the sounds of explosions. Assassins screaming, fighting  the unknown force. A few are left dead, spread on the floor.

"What is this?!" Talia yelled, covering herself from the smoke. Hayden stood beside her, inspecting the area. They noticed the dead men laying on the ground, the blood staining the wooden floor.

A figure emerged from the shadows, striding towards Talia. Her eyes widened for a second at the sight, before she grasped her sword tighter, leaning forward, ready to attack. A group of assassins emerged behind her, ready to defend their leader.

"How is this.. possible?" Hayden murmured at the sight.

"Alina, what are you doing?!" Talia shouted, as the figure, Alina, stopped in her tracks.

"Doing what I should've done long ago." She muttered, blood in her eyes, as she raised her fist.

"And the statistics?" Damian asked, putting together his suit.

"Nothing." Alfred mutters, typing on the keyboard, as Damian sets his mask.

"Are you really doing this?"  He mutters, only to be answered by silence. "Right." Alfred continues, rolling his eyes.

"How is he?" Damian asks, as a gate opens, the Bat-mobile rolling in. "Your father's doing fine. Sends his best regards." Alfred adds, standing up.

Damian nodded, getting into the Bat-mobile, clenching his jaw. He hated doing this, but he had no choice.

"What is she to you?" Alfred asks, walking towards Damian, his steps calculative.

"What?"

"You're willing to go this far for a girl. You must be head over heels for her." He teased, a little smirk spreading.

"Mind your business, Alfred."

"Just like your father." Alfred states, as Damian storms out of the cave. Titus barks, flipping his tail, as he stood next to Alfred.

"And what do you want? Treats I suppose?" Alfred made his way to the Manor, followed by an eager Titus.

Gripping Talia by the neck, she struggled, pressing a blade against my waist. "What are you doing?!" She seethed.

I woke up earlier, in a lab, my body feeling..stronger. I could feel the adrenaline rushing through my veins.

I didn't know what took over me. I just needed to fight. She must've done something.

"You know what you've done!" I yelled, as she struggled in my grip, gasping for air. I didn't really know what I was doing.

The only thing I knew is that I was thirsty.. for blood.

I felt another blade now pressing against my neck. Knowing who it was, my other hand grasped it forcibly, throwing it into the assaulter's  neck. It was Hayden, Talia's little assistant.

"You killed my assistant.." She murmurs,  running out of breath. Letting her fall to the ground, I stop, catching my breath.

Looking around, I realize what I did. I.. killed people. My bare feet was covered in blood, and my clothes, a hospital robe, was stained too.

A few other assassins rushed into the room, pointing their weapons at me. I took a few steps backwards, processing everything.

Talia stands up, grasping her knife. "I sedated you. I put you under a drug that made you lose your senses." She finally speaks, looking at Hayden's dead body without remorse.

"And you still have the audacity to talk to me?" I gritted out, raising my hand at her. She was slumped into the air, as the assassins ran towards me, threatening with their weapons.

Letting her fall once again, I lifted my finger, as their bodies were thrown backwards. As they stood up, ready to attack again, Talia stops them.

"Stand down! I'll have a talk with her." She sighs. The assassins backed away, leaving us in this empty area.

"You don't understand this.. ability. This power is unstoppable, if you want it to! Let me teach you how to control it."

Lifting my hand, I gestured for her to stop. She did, cautiously. "I'm not going to be your killing machine, and this is final."

"Well then. I guess it's no more use." She mutters, throwing her sword away. "I guess I cannot change your mind." She continues, taking slow steps towards me.

Arching an eyebrow, I contemplated her. She wasn't the type to give up.

"If I can't persuade you, then I guess I'll have to end this. This is my mistake." She mutters, before running towards me, picking up her sword, lounging at me.

I looked around, trying to find something I could protect myself with. My eyes met with a sword, a bloody one, in the grasp of a dead assassin.

I make my run towards it, grabbing it, before shielding Talia's hit.

"You were supposed to be dead!" She rages, pointing her sword at me. "I guess I have you to thank." I mutter, pointing back at her.

She moves swiftly, cutting my leg. I yell out in pain, as I was about to hit her again, before we both stopped, hearing a thundering voice behind Talia.

"Enough! Stop! This instant." Talia stops, frozen, unable to speak. She drops her sword, frowning. Her hair whistled by the wind, her fingers shaking.

"This can't be.. I.." She mutters dumbfounded, turning around.

Laying my eyes on the tall man, I gape, recognizing who it was.

"You have to end this." The man strides towards us, hands behind his back.

"I thought you were dead." Talia murmurs, teary eyes staring towards him. I stood up, pressing a hand against my bleeding leg, throwing the sword away.

"You've done enough, Talia."

That man, was none other than Ra's Al-Ghul.
