Chapter | 19

"I just can't seem to understand as to why Master Damian felt the urge to throw his katana onto the wall." Alfred sighs as he walked into the kitchen, where everyone was currently enjoying breakfast.

Tim raised an eyebrow at Damian, whilst everyone could hear Jason's dramatic sigh.

"Bad dream, I suppose?" Dick asks playfully, sipping his cup of coffee.

Damian sat still, eating his breakfast, which consisted of tofu and seaweed. He sighs, ignoring them.

He woke up, in the morning, panting, realizing he'd threw his katana through the wall. Perhaps a reflex, due to the nightmare he had experienced.

Seeing his mother, in that dream, was beyond terrifying. Was she dead? Or alive?

"Thanks to Master Damian, I now need to find someone who can repair the damage."

"I can repair it." Jason offered, standing up. "The last time you tried to repair something, you've set the whole room on fire." Tim slurs, shaking his head.

"Why are you here?" Alina huffs, her position straightening up.

She was having a pretty good day, all dressed up, ready to go into town, but what she didn't expect, was to meet David on the lobby. He was still the same aggravating looking man.

"Your Majesty, I'm simply here to be your bodyguard again." He smiles, a naughty grin hidden behind it.

"On whose orders?"
"King Nathan. Your brother." He mutters, bowing.
David looked surprised, to say the least.
The usually fabulous-looking Princess had now turned into a.. casual one.

Her long brown hair was tied into a ponytail, she wore jeans, a grey T-Shirt and sneakers. She still looked gorgeous to him.

"Ahh. Really?" She teased, crossing her arms. He nods, his gaze dropping onto the floor.

"Well I have a task for you then. I've simply forgotten my book. Can you please grab it for me?" Alina asks, no expression on her face whatsoever.

"Of course, Your Highness. Where is it exactly?" He asks, a hopeful expression plastered across his face. Alina noticed the slight change of hair. His hair wasn't brown anymore, he dyed it black.

"Well, come, let me show you." She grins, motioning him to follow her, as she walks towards the left side of the building, hands in her pockets.

David follows closely, behind, and as she abruptly stops, he frowns.

"The basement, Your Grace?"
"Yes. I don't want to go down there. It's dusty. Go on, now." She ordered, opening the basement door. David stops, as if considering for a while, then nods.

"It's the blue covered book. With the brown edge." Alina adds, holding the basement door, urging him to go inside.

Somehow, he believed it, and entered the dusty old underbuilding. Immediately, Alina closed and locked the door from the outside, and retrieved the key.

"What in the world?!" David bellows, banging on the door. "Your Highness! This is a very bad idea! I respectfully remind you, this is a terrible idea!"

"And I simply have to thank Wayne for this." Alina grinned mischievously as she placed the key carefully in her pocket, and walked away.

"No! You locked him?" Olivia gasps, as she and Alina were enjoying a casual stroll through the park. Alina nods, looking around, enjoying the cool breeze. The trees welcomed the new season, its golden-colored leaves tumbling down. She enjoyed stepping over the dry leaves, hearing the satisfying 'crunch' sound.

"Mhm." She mumbles, breathing in the cold air, looking around the park, where a lot of kids were playing with their mothers. She felt a sting, a long wound opened once again. If only her parents had spent time with her.. Maybe she wouldn't turn out like this.

"So, where were you born?" Alina asks, breaking the silence. "Oh, well, I was born here. Pretty sad, right?" She laughs, her curly black hair styled into a bun. "I can't really say that.. This is an interesting city, for sure.." Alina sighs, remembering a few events that had occured a while back.

"I possibly can't find anything interesting about this city. Except for Batman, perhaps." Olivia snickers, turning around, sitting on one of the benches available.

"Have you ever seen him? Batman?" Alina joined her, zipping up her sweater, the cold air hitting her.

"Well.. Yeah. He saved me and my family in a fire once. Not too long ago, actually. Perhaps two years ago."
Alina nods, remembering the fact that Olivia had a slight scar, near her elbow. Probably due to the fire.
"He saved my parents, whilst Robin saved me and my siblings."

"Robin?" Alina asks, straightening up at the mention of the legendary vigilante.
"Yeah. I don't know, but something about him makes me remember about Damian Wayne."

"What? What do you mean?" Alina asks, bedazzled. That's impossible, Olivia couldn't know.

"I don't know.. his black hair, perhaps? And he's definitely dreamy. The way he walks, how he's always mysterious..
I keep remembering, one day I accidentally bumped into him, it was definitely something I wouldn't forget." Olivia explains, her cheeks reddening at the mention of Damian.

Alina stayed quiet, feeling a bit guilty. She should've told her about Damian.

"That's why I keep hoping that one day, he'll maybe willing to be my boyfriend." She chirps, shrugging.

"Yeah, you too definitely make a great match.." Alina nods awkwardly, glancing at the trees, swaying their branches, their leaves blown away by the wind. A few children were playing volleyball near them. She'd rather watch them play; she'd do anything to get out of this conversation.

She suddenly stopped, a sudden sharp pain growing in her lungs. "Oh god.. My pills, my pills.." She mumbles, grasping her neck, and started coughing. "Alina, where are your pills?!" Olivia panics, her eyes widening. Alina tugged at Olivia's shirt, her head motioning to her pocket. Her hands went numb, her vision went blurry and tears started prickling her eyes.

She took the pill from Olivia's grasp, and swallowed it. She winced, forgetting to swallow it with water. After staying calm for a few seconds, the stinging slowly vanishing. "Oh, thank goddess." Olivia mutters, patting her friend's back.

"Let's just go back, Olivia."

~

After bidding goodbye to Olivia, Alina had finally arrived in front of her suite. She reached for the key in her pocket, but realized that David was probably still in that basement. She shakes her head, knowing David, he probably would've called the authorities by now.

She retrieved her suite's key, and unlocked the familiar wooden door. As she opened it, she was greeted by the darkness of the room.

As she turned on the light to her suite, her eyes went wide, seeing Damian standing in the middle of the place, hands in his pockets, staring out the window.

"Damian? What are you-?" And before she could comprehend what was happening, he strides towards her, and forcefully slumped her against the wall, closed the door, and locked it.

Her steely eyes stared directly into Damian's, a raging storm clear in those glassy green eyes of his. She eyed him carefully, he looked worn out.

What happened to him?

She tried to move, but fails hopelessly. His single arm held her still, whilst the other one wandered towards her face, slowly caressing her cheeks.

"Why. Why didn't you tell me?" He breathes out, closing his eyes. Alina furrowed her brows, baffled, as his free hand still caressed her.

"Tell me what?" She asks, as she felt her heartbeat accelerated. Damian inhaled, before facing her eyes once again. Those eyes, who made him feel.. weakened. This time, his gaze was unreadable.

"About your health complications." He spoke, his voice slightly breaking, his arms still preventing hers to move.

"Like you didn't tell me about you?" She replied.

This time, his grip softened on her, a confused look plastered across his face. "What?" He murmurs.

"You..you.." She mutters, her gaze dropping, unable to say it.

If I say it, will he walk away..?

"Say it. Say it, Alli." He insisted.

"You're Robin."
