~Raindrops Uncover Secrets~

ODIE DESMOND

*So, I have a song for this certain scene in this book, if you slide the picture you'll find it, "Oh My God" by Jaqueline Irvin.I thought it was eery like this scene so that's why I chose it, ENJOY!!!!!:D

~~~~~~~~~||CHAPTER:TWO||~~~~~~~~~
           If I'm going to tell you what happened, I would have to start all the way at the beginning.It's a mouth full of information to retain, but it's worth it, it's worth having someone listen to OUR side of the story for once, maybe you'll believe us.
~~
I think it's safe to tell you about my life, about me, about my family, everything.
~~
My full name is, Clarissa Evince Manor, and I am the daughter of two jet black haired people-Abilene Manor and Mortimer Manor.No, I'm not from ROMANIA like those horrid kids from Vixen High said.I'm from Poitiers, a small city in France.I'm only seventeen years old, but I am apart of one of the wealthiest families in existence .How much money we have and make will remain a secret as it is not sweet to the ears of the envious.
~~
We came here to Willow Pines, to escape the covetous souls that lurked the streets of Poitiers.
~~
...I...should...have...stayed...in...Poitiers...
~~
...As Willow Pines was not as generous as I imagined...
~~
I am the new transfer student to the school of Vixen High school, I've only been here for a year, but somehow, people decide to notice me now because of "what we have done" - very fascinatingly doltish.
~~
But Willow Pines itself... is beautiful, it's a shame that I cannot say the same about the people here.Live with greenery.The smell of the fresh pine trees always seem to find the entrance of my nostrils.The rain here smells delicious, earthy, it's lovely.Although, there is much fog here, I don't mind it.The fog is what gives Willow Pines it's mystery and secrets, it just flows and swirls around the air like a dust storm.
~~
What have we done is the question that may be loitering around in your mind.Don't ask me that question, As I do not know the answer to that myself.
~~~~~~~~~TWO MONTHS AGO~~~~~~~~~

          Digging my toes into the moist gravel that is located in Willow Pines is my calling.Satisfying to feel the little pebbles tickle  the gaps between my toes.Thats how I passed time, enjoying the earthy feel, the earthy view, the earthy mind.

~~

----------and that's when I met him--------------

No, he wasn't a lover, he wasn't the boy I fell for, I fell for him, but not in the way you're thinking.
~~
      I fell for his lies, deception, fin, falsehood, and poetic words.
~~
                           Odie Desmond

     "The Pines remind me of people."  a random boy with scruffy, silver dyed hair walked up to me and stuffed his muted white hands into the pockets of his grey hood
~~
   "How so?" I spooned a handful of crushed pebbles into my palm.My charcoal, smoky pupils dilated as his figure approached me leisurely.
~~
  "The Pines are covered in thick, bristled, razor edged needles.You are clueless, but you're conscience is compelling you-'touch it's piercings', so you do.You stroke the hard edges of the Pines as your mind is engrossing on only the tree.With people, we focus on the exterior shell, but we truly never wonder what may beneath, in the exterior." he fixated his eyes on mine.
~~
   "That's beautiful.Clarissa Manor."
~~
     "Odie Desmond."
  ~~
     Odie Desmond was the reincarnation of Shakespeare in my head.His poetic words captivated the attention of my mind.As my actions, speech, sleep, were simply fixated on only him.I was not falling in love with him as a person, but with his creativity and wit.Sometimes I wonder, maybe that helped influence him into not believing us.
~~
   I remember the clothing that wrapped my body the day of the discovery.I was wearing Grandmother Manor's pearls, white as my skin, my dress was made by the finest Taffeta and Velvet, corduroy fabric with blood red lace trimmings.My black hair spread all over the sod of the woods that Odie and I would meet at after school.I looked up at the grey clouds and the fog that cascaded into swirls down the sky as he read aloud from his thick, hard cover book, "Hamlet" By William Shakespeare.
~~
"Doubt thou the stars are fire, Doubt that the sun doth move, Doubt truth to be a liar..."
~~
His voice was as peaceful and serenity like as the jays that chirped in the distance behind my ears.I lay on the earthy floor, listening to him and Shakespeare.
~~

      Suddenly, raindrops thudded onto the ground with forceful hits.Splattering all over my face.Odie covered his face with the hard cover book, careful not to expose the delicate pages to earth's waterworks-rain.He clutched my hand as we ran through the densely packed shrubs and pines, trying to find a dry area.The earth's soil was now becoming thick, watery and muddy.I could no longer feel the warmth seize around my fingers, as Odie slipped on the mudded flooring.
~~
       The water is under appreciated, just something we drink and bathe in.What we never knew is that mother nature's tears also reveals dark truths.
~~
   The mud was more watery that imaginable.Odie didn't stand up, he lay on the mud as I stared at him perplexed.
~~
  "Odie, what are you looki-" I fixated my vision at the floor's view.Water uncovered something horrifying.
~~
Water ran down in drops over something  I could not make out.As the mud uncovered the thing, it was finally easy to make out what it was.
~~
  I became more pale than I already was, not pale actually- green.Greener than the Pines, greener than the grass, greener than the ivy.A vile substance escaped my mouth.Putrid.
~~
Odie's face still haunts my dreams to this day.His eyes drooped down to the sides and his mouth hung open, with no sound- he was muted.
~~
     An rotten corpse.Covered in water and mud.It's flesh was peeling off like a coat of paint.Although It's hand was the only thing that appeared from the surface, My gut told me it was a full corpse underneath the gravel.It's debris covered fingers twitched and curved in odd directions and the fingernails were completely gone.
~~
     Odie fell back, his knees trembled as he quickly stood up, still shaking.His eyes looked at me horrifyingly, as he lifted his index finger in my shock stricken face, whimpering like an injured Rottweiler.
~~
  "Y-you d-did th-is." His jaw clenched, "You-you.You-Clarissa-you-did th-this." His eyes fluttered in panic.
~~
     I still ask myself why Odie accused me of something that I never did, and something he had no proof of anyway.
~~
"Odie, why say such a thing?" My tears rolled down my cheeks, as the raindrops did.
~~
  "You always spent your t-time here in the woo-ds.You PROBABLY KILLED THIS PERSON AND PUT HIM OR HER TO ITS MISERY." his voice was no longer soothing and sweet like honey to my ears.I stood back.
~~
"I didn't do it, Odie.Why are you falsely accusing me of hiding a corpse?" I wrapped my fingers around his, "Why?"
~~
  He threw my hands against my chest, and pushed me away, "Do not touch me, Clarissa." His eyes were watering, "No wonder you spend your time here, You've told me that people here have been-been cruel to you and treating you like an outsider? You probably killed one of the people that have been treating you and-nd your family tha-that way.." without warning, Odie ran away, deep into the vegetation, without looking back.
      ~~

    His book lay flat onto the ground, cover up.
    ~~
   That day, I lost the only friend I've ever had in my life over something he thought I did when the truth is- I wouldn't dare touch a corpse.Ever since, I can no longer enjoy the pleasurable, earthy smell of rain.It is no longer delicious to my nose.
~~
                        Sincerely
                                           -Clarissa.E.Manor
