Part 5- Falling Apart

Kassy's POV

"I got it!" I shout so loud that the librarian has to shush me.

"What did you find?" asks Kerric.

"It is a pagan book that talks about a cult."

"So know we are doing occult research." says Kerric with a dorky grin.

"Okay, so it talks about a group of ancient witches who were killed."

"The Salem witch trails?"

"Long before that. Were are looking at 1300's England."

"How is it relevant to what we're doing?"

"Just listen!" I shout, causing me to be shushed again by the librarian.  "These witches were killed because of their strong beliefs and practice of the dark arts but, not all of them were killed. The surviving witches vowed to take revenge upon the world and went into hiding."

"Well, I get that but wouldn't they be all dead?"

"Not necessarily. Because of their ties to the occult and their satanic ways, the book states that they were granted immortality, so that their terror would be everlasting."

"That does not sound good at all."

"I know. I think the secrets of this school much deeper than we thought."

I then glance up at the clock.

"It is pretty late." I state.

"What time is it?" he asks.

"11:42 p.m."

"Maybe this would be a good time to investigate outside again?" he suggests.

"But what if we encounter him again?"

"I don't know. We will figure it out if it happens."

"Fine but only for a short period of time. We don't want to sustain any injuries or get caught." I state.

Kerric and I then exit the library and head out into the woods that surrounded the school.

Leslie's POV

I cried out in pain as my hands were chained down. I could hear chanting in the background. I was afraid of what was to come. Then, a woman with a powerful voice began to shout to what must have been a group of people, perhaps a cult of some sorts.

"Today we gather to awaken another soul! A soul lost in the depths of this young lady's body!"

I then could hear the women walk over somewhere and pick up a heavy object, as it clanged against a surface.

"This sacred dagger is the key to transcendence! Now awaken!"

I scream as the dagger penetrates my chest, piercing my heart. Blood poured out of the wound and started to ooze out of my mouth. My whole body pounded in pain, as the dagger was drove right through my heart. Then, I slowly slipped away.

Kerric's POV

"Come on." I say to Kassy, urging her to follow me.

"I have a bad feeling about this." she murmurs as we continue walking.

Then, I spot a light shining in the distance.

"We are getting close, just a few more feet." I say in a quieter tone.

We then arrive, hiding in the bushes so that we are not spotted. Once again, the hooded cult was performing some sort of ritual. Another person was chained up as well.

"What are we going to do?" asks, Kassy quietly.

"I don't know. We can't really confront them. We could die." I whisper back.

Then, the leader of them all begins to ramble like the other day. The person with the sack over their head struggling to break free. Then, a dagger pierced their chest. The person let out a loud, painful scream. Kassy then gasped.

"Oh god." she murmured. "It can't be..."

"What is it?"

"I-I think it is Leslie..." she says, sounding a bit shaky

"Stay calm, we have to-"

"LESLIE!" she screams out, giving away our position.

"RUN!" I yell as I turn and run, Kassy following close behind.

We weren't being followed but quickly enter the school anyways.

"Leslie.." murmurs Kassy.

"There isn't anything we can do. We just have to go to sleep now."

She nods and heads to her dorm as I head to mine.

Leslie's POV

I sit up and pull the sack off of my head. My hair was disheveled. I blinked a few times and stretch. I then licked my lips.

"Blood....."
