-----/-----

If it wasn't for the constant throbbing of my head, I wouldn't have woken up. It honestly felt like it was pulsing for some reason, and I couldn't do anything than clench my jaw to try and relieve some of the aching.

Life in plastic

It's fantastic

I knew I was sleeping, because of the warm pillow under my head. It smelt like green meadows and daffodils, and it was a bit cold.

You can brush my hair

Undress me everywhere

I dug my head further into it and took a deep sniff. Mmm it certainly made the throbs halt for a second.

Imagination

Life is your creation.

Why is this song following me everywhere? I should really remember to remove this ringtone that Aly installed on my phone.

I forced my eyelids open with the greatest effort I could muster. My vision was met with a plain white ceiling. Instantly, I squinted at the sudden rays of sunlight that dove into my eyes.

Is it morning? When did that happen?

My mouth and throat were so dry; it almost felt like I swallowed sandpaper. And my stomach was twisting and turning in knots. I could hear my phone violently vibrating somewhere, probably on a nearby surface or something, but I had no energy to get up and see where.

Okay, let's try recalling what in hell happened yesterday. Most of it was a blur to be honest. Well, first we drove to Sean's place for the party, and then playing this retarded drinking game with Jayce. That was so stupid of me. Seriously, how did I agree to such a thing? Usually I would pass out from two cups of beer but yesterday, it was a whole other story.

No really, drunken Ash is not a pretty sight. At all.

I remember going up to Jayce's room too, and him sneaking up on me like a shady wolf. Okay, he wasn't sneaking up on me but it felt that way because I was the one doing something really shady. I guess there were files of some sort; maybe something to do with money? Sean's name? Vegas?

Guess I'm the one with the memory of a half-witted goldfish.

But why was my head throbbing so much? Is this what they call a hangover? I've never had one and let me say, it feels like straight up torture. I groaned and rolled to my side, causing my head to ache even more. After getting my vision in focus again, I realized I was staring at black bedside tables. I was even covered in black bed sheets. Am I in a horror film? Will some random scar faced psychopath lunge on me and rip me up to pieces? Maybe I'm even strapped to this bed! Never mind, I can move my arms.

I should really get imagination therapy if that even exists.

But seriously where am I? It looks familiar. Did Jayce's room look like that? Or was it Sean's? Idiot, you haven't even been in Sean's room. Wait... Have I? I ask too many questions, and what's worse is that they're all directed at me.

After making ridiculously impossible scenarios in my head, a freakishly loud snore erupted from somewhere. I squealed like a ten year old and quickly sat upright on the bed.

"Fucking hell," I heard a murmur from somewhere at the foot of the bed.

Oh my god Scarface is coming for me.

Stretching myself so I can see further, I saw Jayce sleeping on the ground, with his arm over his face, covering his eyes.

"What the hell are you doing on the floor?" I exclaimed after a near heart-attack.

"Would you lower your annoyingly loud voice? Geez," He mumbled, his arm still covering his eyes.

"What?" I breathed angrily. "What are you doing down there?" I repeated, even louder, my heart still going crazy from the jump scare I just had.

"Oh my god!" He said a bit louder this time. "You're ridiculous."

"I'm ridiculous? You're the one laying there like a dead log."

After a long sigh that clearly indicated annoyance, he sat upright. Rubbing his eyes, and running a hand through his already messy hair, he looked at me. His lips tugged into a smile and he said, "You look stunning."

My eyes widened at his remark and I opened my mouth to say something but closed it hesitantly without uttering a word. This is Jayce we're talking about; there's no way in hell he's serious. Is he? If anyone said that they look bad when they wake up, I would always counter and say I look like ten times worse; there's no question. I basically do a three sixty degree turn when I sleep, and my hair transforms into a mop of ridiculous looking straw.

"Are you making fun of me?" I said, glaring at him angrily.

"Why would I be making fun of you, shortcake?" His grin grew wider as his gaze raked over me. "You're gorgeous."

Yup, he's definitely being sarcastic. This much amusement is never innocent with Jayce.

I grabbed the nearest pillow and threw it as hard as I can at him. He caught it right before it hit him and simply chuckled.

"Idiot," I mumbled as I threw away the black covers from on top of me and got off the bed. Making sure to give him a kick on the way, I ushered myself to the bathroom to have a look of myself in the mirror.

Wow. Who's that ogre who replaced you Ash? The little bit of mascara I added to my lashes earlier had seeped down all under my eyes. It created the most absurd blotches of panda eyes. My hair was sticking out in all directions and if anyone saw me right now, they'd think I just got out of an intense safari mission. There was an odd smell of tangy alcohol erupting from somewhere and I guessed it was coming from the outfit I was wearing.

Great. I must've dropped like a whole glass of alcohol on myself. I groaned and opened the tap of water to try and clean my face up a bit.

Jayce was chuckling from outside and I heard the shifting of his feet, meaning he got up.

"That little piece of shit." I mumbled again as I continued rubbing my face as hard as I can.

This seems a bit too weird though. Seriously did I sleep in Jayce's room? When did that happen? I don't remember coming in here and taking a nap or something. Oh shit, that's the last thing I needed; snoozing in this mansion on Jayce's bed. Maybe I was too drunk to remember. Where's Sean? Why didn't Lyanna drag me by my hair to my house? I'm in big trouble. Oh, god.

Drying up my face with a towel, and trying to keep my cool, I went back into the room to find Jayce standing by the bedside table. He was wearing a black shirt with nothing but boxers underneath. I woke up ten minutes ago and I'm already uncomfortable; a record.

"Would you mind putting on pants, idiot?" I snapped at him.

"Why?" He questioned simply, his eyes fixed on the phone between his hands.

"Why? Maybe because I don't feel like getting my eyes burnt off," I said, smiling not-so-sweetly.

His gaze moved over to me and he smiled back smugly. "So you're saying you don't like what you see?"

My eyes widened. Man, this dude's arrogance has hit the ceiling. Heat crept up to my cheeks causing them to blush, but I quickly regained my sarcastic, stern face.

"This might strike you as a surprise," I said. "But no, I don't like what I see."

He let out a chuckle. "Where's your honesty gone, shortcake?"

"First, you better stop using that nickname. And second, my honesty is there don't worry, but I think your sense of acceptance is a bit lacking, JayJay," I shrugged simply.

He chuckled again, "Did you just lie two times in a row Ms. Reagan?"

"Is it hard to believe that I don't swoon over you Mr. Stryker?" I countered swiftly.

He threw his phone on the bed and turned around to fully face me. "How did you know my last name?"

I was taken aback by his sudden change of tone. I don't even remember where I know his last name from. It just struck me at the moment he said mine. Was I not supposed to know that or something?

"I don't know. You probably told me when we met," I said.

"I didn't even tell you my first name when we met," he answered. "Back then, your whole concentration was on those candy bars. So even if I have mentioned it, there's no way in hell you would've remembered."

There's that annoying tone again. I rolled my eyes at him. "You're annoying."

"You know you like it," he smiled.

I rolled my eyes again.

Oh wait; I remember where I saw his last name from. I guess they were in those files I claimed I didn't read any of, but I decided to lose the subject one way or another.

"What am I even doing here?" I asked, looking around and trying to look unaffected by his earlier question.

He shrugged. "After you stormed out of my room wanting to create a majestic creation in the-"

"Oh my god you remember that?" I said, embarrassed.

Jayce grinned and said, "Why wouldn't I remember? I didn't realize normal adults pass out after three shots of alcohol."

"It wasn't only three shots!" I exclaimed. "And that thing you made me drink was definitely not regular tequila. I bet you got it from some cheap ass market for ten dollars. It's probably not even safe to drink."

"Why would you think I would get something other than that for like a hundred drunken idiots who don't even realize what they're gulping down their throats?"

I grunted, "Oh my god, talking to you is intensifying my headache. I pity Sean and the others for living with you. I really do."

He smiled again and quirked an eyebrow. "That's really nice coming from the girl who was drunk out of her brains last night. You know I found you roaming the hallways after you barged out of my room? Not only that, you were singing. It was fucking hilarious."

"Singing...?" My eyes widened.

Please, I hope I didn't do something extremely embarrassing.

"Yeah. You were humming 'I vomited in a bathroom, I vomited on a rug, and I vomited on myseeeelf'," he chuckled, "Or something along those lines."

I could feel my face heat up and I just wanted to crawl under a bed and hide there forever.

"And when I came to talk to you, you started screaming 'You shall not PASS'." Jayce said, trying to contain himself from bursting out laughing. "Man, best thing I've seen in a while."

"Holy shit. I'm so damn embarrassing." I put a hand on my mouth, watching Jayce's amusement intensify.

"If it was for me, I would've just left you there and watched you forever," He continued. "But Coral made me pick you up and put you to sleep on my bed." He said the last part while rolling his eyes. "Wait, wait!" He laughed suddenly. "Do you remember what you said when I picked you up?"

I shut my eyes embarrassingly, suddenly remembering a shred of last night. "Put me down you scavenger, how dare you lift up Princess Zelda." I mumbled, my face flushed.

Jayce burst out in laughter, his voice ringing throughout the room.

"Oh, my god please shut up." I protested.

My eyes flickered to the black bookshelves I inspected yesterday and found them completely empty. That was weird. I definitely remembered them crammed with shit load of stuff. Was that all just a hallucination from my intoxication? Or could Jayce have hid them because I attempted to snoop around?

"I really need to go. My dad is going to frickin' kill me." I said.

I suddenly realized it was probably late and I needed to leave. I don't even know how I was going to explain this to my father. I'm so dead. My father can be pretty damn scary sometimes when I don't follow his amazing "rules".

"Did Liam and Aly seriously leave me here alone?" I asked, while looking around for my other stuff.

"Lyanna tried to wake you but you were completely out. She even gave you a couple of slaps but you simply snored." He shrugged. "She said you should call her when you wake up."

"I'm going to slay her," I grunted. "Where's my phone?"

"It's right here on the bed. I hope you don't mind me checking your messages." Jayce smiled mischievously, nodding at the phone he just threw on the bed, minutes ago.

"What the fuck? You went through my phone?" I said, stomping over to it.

"You have a message from Sean," He mused wickedly. "He's checking up on you, saying 'Good morning beautiful' or something."

My cheeks flushed and I grabbed my phone to find no messages from Sean; only Lyanna.

Realizing Jayce's annoying little stunt, I turned around to find the broadest smile I've ever seen on him.

"Just kidding, shortcake." He stated slowly. "But if you want, I'll tell him you have a thing for him."

I shoved him roughly, annoyed and pissed. Was I that obvious? I didn't even know it myself. "You are so GODDDAMN annoying!"

When Jayce was about to reply, the door slung open harshly, showing a red-faced, panicking Rina. "Stryker, you've got a call in. It's urgent. You need to go down to the-" she stopped suddenly when she saw me standing there confused and wide-eyed. "What the hell is she doing here?"

Jayce stared at her and I couldn't figure if there was a hint of anger or worry.

For a couple of seconds, I stared back and forth at the both of them. "I was just leaving." I mumbled, grabbing my shoes, bag, and phone, and I hurried through the door, past Rina.

----------
"I seriously can't believe you would leave me like that!" I said to Lyanna, who was looking very guilty. "You even left me sleeping in Jayce's room! Don't you know how much this creature annoys me?"

The weekend had passed by very quickly and boringly after the party. Most likely because my dad has decided to ground me for a whole week because of my "irresponsible highly immature" stunt I pulled on Friday. We argued for a long time back and forth, it was actually becoming pretty intense until I decided to lock myself in my room, before I started to cry. In fact, I get pretty emotional but I hated showing that part of me, especially to Mr. Jamie Reagan, my dad.

And on top of all of that, he didn't even know the real story. He thought I just slept over at Lyanna's and fell asleep before being able to text him. I don't even want to imagine what would've happened if he knew I was at a party, drunk, vomiting all over the place, and slept over on a guy's bed. Wow.

"I'm sorry!" Aly whined, "You just looked too peaceful! And besides, I slapped you, shouted your name, and even pulled your hair but you wouldn't wake up."

I sighed, "You don't even want to know what happened back there. Some weird ass shit."

"Oh, my god! What happened?" Lyanna said excitedly, knowing some gossip was about to ensue.

We were both having lunch at the cafeteria, in our usual spot. And in this usual spot, Lyanna loved to give and receive gossip.

I scoffed, "Well apparently, Rina and Jayce are sleeping together."

Aly gasped. "Nowaaaaaaaaaaayyy!"

"If you stretch the word more it'll still be true," I shrugged.

"How did you know?" She whispered, like it was a big secret.

"I heard them."

"Heard them?" Aly said, exasperated. "Did you like... hear them do it?"

"Hell no! Ew, what the hell?" I laughed. "I just heard them making out on the bed. Long story." I waved a hand.

After many begging from Aly, I told her the whole story just to shut her up.

She was quiet for a while, then she whispered, "So, did you talk to Jayce?"

"Why would I wanna talk to him exactly?" I arched an eyebrow. "Anyway, yeah I did. I went up to his room after that."

Lyanna mimicked my quirked eyebrow. "Didn't you say you were mad because I left you at Jayce's room? You went there yourself, see?" She mused.

I rolled my eyes. "I thought it was Sean's room. Where's Liam by the way? Haven't seen him since the party." I said, wanting to lose the subject. I don't think I was ready to tell Aly exactly what happened and the weird shit I might have seen.

She shrugged, "He's at practice. He didn't speak to me much either. Dunno what's wrong with this goon."

"That's weird. He never misses a chance to be a pain in the ass." I smiled. "Anyway, I need to go speak to Mr. Florence so see you-"

"Wait!" Lyanna said, cutting off my ramble. "Um... Can I ask for a favor?"

"I'm not going to help you buy push-up bras again Aly," I rolled my eyes. "By now, I know your boob size by heart, thank you very much.

She gave me a slap across my arm.

"Owww!"

"Ugh be quiet. I want you to go on this... date with me, as like my wing woman." She said, with her shy tone.

"Uhhh, a date? Haven't you been on those like hundreds of times already?"

"Ash, I'll slap you again."

I chuckled, "sorry, sorry. So who's the guy? Do I know him?"

"Um..." Her cheeks flushed. "It's Ellis."

If I had a drink in my mouth, I would've spat it out. "ELLIS? How did THAT happen?"

"We spent the whole time together at the party, and... He asked me out." She continued, shyly. "Please, don't make that face Ash! I really like him and I want this to go well!"

I tried to remove that stunned expression of my face. "Okayyy... so wouldn't it be awkward that I tag along with you?"

"No, on the contrary it will be less awkward. He'll get Sean too."

Unwillingly, my heart fluttered for a bit but I cleared my throat. "Ugh, okay fine. But I won't be enjoying this!"

"Thank you, I love you so much Ash." She ruffled my hair. "Now, I allow you to go to that weird biology teacher."

I rolled my eyes again. Maybe this is going to be fun; Aly and Ellis, Sean and I.

----------

"Ashton, you don't need extra credits in Biology. You're already on ninety two percent. That's pretty good." Mr. Florence said, sitting across of me, in his office.

"For me, ninety two percent is not good enough," I repeated, for the third time now.

Not good enough for my dad most likely.

"I really need to boost my average Mr. Florence." I said. "Please, if there's anything I could do; community service, research projects, or anything else."

He regarded me slowly. "You know, you're a great student Ms. Reagan. You really need to realize that."

I smiled weakly. If only my dad would hear that.

"I think I might find you something," he said, as he searched between files. "You can tutor weaker students." He pulled out a couple of papers. "Aha. You have Oliver Bernz, and..." He pulled out another paper. "and Jayce Stryker. Both on the verge of failing."

It was as if someone slapped me across the face.

Tutoring Jayce. Are you serious?

"You do these successfully, and make them pass their exams, and Ill add to your average." He said.

"Um, I..." I stuttered. What in hell was I supposed to say? Please, teacher would you please change that student because I would rather pull out his guts than tutor him? Thank you.

"Is there any other students I can tutor?." I said.

"Why is that Ms. Reagan?" Mr. Florence crossed his arms. "Do you have a problem with any of those students?"

"No, it's just... I don't really..." I stuttered stupidly. Oh god Mr. Florence will think I'm such a loser.

Mr. Florence's eyebrows shot even higher.

How bad can it be?

"Fine, I'll do it." I mumbled.

I don't even want to think about how this is going to go.
