Chapter 4: Time to Kick Some Ass
"You frickin' floppin' piece of motherjumpin' tit!" I yelled in my microphone at Ellis's echoing laughter.
I was playing an online game of Call of Duty when Ellis logged in and sent me a message for a one on one duel. Up till now, we were playing for about an hour and a half and that was already extra amount of procrastinating time. Next week, there was this big Physics quiz that I was dreading. Dreading to the extent I was actually afraid to open my book and start studying. And in three weeks, we had a biology quiz, so basically, I was procrastinating in any way possible. Including long talks to Lyanna on the phone, cheering on Liam during his football practice (which I later got kicked out of because apparently 'I'm not allowed to be here' or something. Whatever.), messaging Sean, replying to Jayce's completely inappropriate text insults he sent me(Dont even ask me how he got my number. ugh), going to Starbucks for a latte, and now playing online games with Ellis. Woo-hoo.
I'm definitely not failing. Yes, sarcasm.
Although Bio was my favorite subject, it was pretty hard and needed actual concentration time which I'm not doing any of. And I'm not even going to get started on Physics. Nope
"Calm down girl. You don't want your dad telling you off again," He said through muffled laughter.
My dad has actually threatened to take the Xbox with him on his business trip to Sweden if he hears another one of my 'godforsaken filthy-mouthed' rants. So, for that and only that I was trying to keep my cool, because we wouldn't want that now do we.
"Oh, shut up! I was reloading and you shot me! And for your information that's first class cheating okay?" I countered. No one is permitted to beat me in my own territory, and I'm prepared to act like a baby if my skills were in anyway threatened.
"Yea yea whatever you're just butt-hurt I won."
"Please. I won like six times and you only one twice so what does that tell you, huh?" I said, still trying to defend my dignity that has just shattered. "And one of them was by cheating so if you're satisfied by that then that means you're kinda pathetic to be honest."
Ellis guffawed loudly that I had to take the headphones off for a little while. When I heard him speaking I put them back on. "You are one competitive little thing aren't you?" He said.
I took the chance of Ellis's lowered guard while he rambled on about how he hadn't cheated, and motioned my character slowly towards his, with my newly purchased AK-47 in hand. I zoomed in straight to his character's head using the scope fixed to the rifle and I was aiming for a headshot, for extra bonus points.
Yea that'll show him who is boss. Who's laughing now?
In the same moment I was about to pull on the trigger (or press the button), Ellis's character turned a three hundred sixty degree turn, and shot my character squarely in the head, causing it to fall limp and dead to the ground, which meant I had lost the whole entire game. This time Ellis's laughs were higher than ever and he was almost choking when he said, "Yo, I'm not an idiot Ash."
I groaned and yelled loudly, cursing all that is around me. Involuntarily, I threw my Xbox controller harshly all across the room and it hit the opposite wall.
His laughter wouldn't seize so I just took out my headphones and threw them on the floor too.
When my controller hit the wall, it made a loud crack so I was about to go pet it and mutter some wordsof apology when my phone rang this horrific ringtone.
I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world.
Life in plastic, it's fantastic.
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere.
Imagination, life is your creation.
Come on Barbie lets-
"Hey Aly," I groaned, partly because of my embarrassing loss and partly because of how Aly always manages to change my ringtone even though I try to keep my cell as far away from her as possible.
"Ash! Hey what's up? Why the tone? or should I just get used to that that's your normal voice?" She said with a chirp.
"No its not," I replied boringly, "It's just that I lost a game to Ellis in Xbox."
"Ouch you're really losing your touch aren't you?"
"Hey! Don't even dare go-"
"Anyway, I need a tan for Sean's party. Don't wanna be a looking like a snowball. So wanna hit the beach? The weather is a-mazing!" She said, cutting me off as per usual.
When I came back from the Pizzeria diner three days ago, I crashed at Lyanna's and told her everything that has happened. From how I first met Rude Cashier -Jayce- at the hospital and how later on I met Sean and how I met all of Sean's friends and how Jayce happened to be one of them and how Sean told me to sit with them because he saw me as that huge ass loner in the corner of a deserted diner, and then how he invited me and my friends-aka her and Liam- to his party and blah blah blah.
Of course that was after I got a lecture from Lyanna that I shouldn't leave my phone without service and on my unfaithfulness because I ditched my 'best friends for other friends' or shit like that. Like always, I just nodded and didn't go into how they're the ones who ditched me because that would be a long conversation.
It didn't take much to calm her never ending motherly lecture though. It was always my specialty to buy some cheesecake flavored ice-cream for Lyanna when she was in such a mood, and she would totally transform into this nice little cute person. Hell, when I asked for cookies she quickly got up and made some, while humming. And I only asked once. Yes, that's saying something. Ice-cream does miracles, even to people like Lyanna.
So after that, we basically chattered normally and I went into full detail on what happened that day. She would throw in the occasional comment such as 'snobby bitch' when I mentioned Rina, 'cute and sweet' when Coral came up, 'troublemaker' on Derek, 'nice and funny' on Ellis, the obvious 'charmer' comment on Sean, and the expected 'ugh cocky' on Jayce.
Lyanna has all people figured out doesn't she.
"Uh... I don't know Aly, I got some studying to do and a shitload of homework," I said, responding to her request.
I'm a huge beach lover but I'm honestly not a fan of going with Lyanna. Mostly because I get bored easily when the same old conversation happens on how I should apply sunscreen to keep my skin nice and moisturized and how I should use that hair protectant she just bought for forty dollars.
Who buys a protectant for forty dollars? Definitely not even the queen of England. I mean, for forty dollars you can actually buy a decent Xbox game or some new headphones or something. Come on!
"Don't be such a baby! Get up your lazy ass and come with me to the beach or I will come to your house, up the stairs to your room, and drag you all the way to your car!" She said. I could see the redness of her cheeks from right here.
Geez. Some people say I'm scary, but in my opinion they should fear Lyanna.
I sighed, accepting my loss, "There's no escaping you is there?"
"Na-ah," she said in a sing song manner.
Groaning I said, "ugh fine Ill be there!" I shuffled off the bed, dreading that I have to change out of my tank top and sweats. "I'll pick you up in twenty."
"Um, actually Coral is picking me up."
Did I hear that right? I froze for a second. "Coral? When did that happen?"
"Why the sudden change of mood?" She said, laughing. "Remember that day when we three hung out at the school cafeteria together?"
Nodding, I started digging in my drawers for my swimsuit then I realized she couldn't actually see me. "Yeah?"
"Anyway, we exchanged numbers and we've been texting and talking on the phone a lot! Turns out she's basically a copy from me!" She chuckled, "but you know I'm a redhead and she's a brunette."
"Uh-huh."
Coral is a really sweet person but for some weird reason, I felt kind of jealous. Aly and I had this relationship of 'sisters from another mister' kind of thing, and suddenly she was talking about how she and Coral were like copies or something. But she was right; they were similar in so many ways.
"You don't mind do you?" She said, cutting off my wandering thoughts.
"No no of course not Coral is fun to hang around with."
"Okay then that's great! See ya there. And wear something nice!" She concluded, before hanging up.
That was always Lyanna's last words to me on the phone when we were meeting up somewhere. Wear something nice. Well that's too bad isn't it? Denim shorts and flip flops are my to go pieces for a beach hangout so Aly should just get used to that already.
↜↝↜↝★↜↝↜↝
"Ashton Jamie Reagan, give me your arm!" Lyanna yelled at me for the millionth time. She was squeezing out this gooey sticky cream from the Give me Protection! sunscreen tube. It looked disgusting. Coral and Lyanna basically almost drowned in it from the huge amounts they applied to their bodies.
"Give it to me!" She yelled, again.
"That's what she said!" I said, grinning at my own remark.
"Ash, Ill deck you."
"Geez, hakuna your tatas mom." I mumbled, stretching my arm towards her. She grabbed it roughly and squeezed out tons of that horrible looking cream onto it, and smeared it all over. Grabbing my other arm, she emptied the last of the sunscreen over my right arm.
I was now officially a walking tube of goo. Great.
"Stop scrunching your face, Ash." Lyanna said when she glimpsed me staring at my arms with disgust. "It's not a good look on you honey."
"I already have one parental figure, I don't need another."
She shot me a glare and resumed her tanning session. Both Aly and Coral were laying on their beach blankets, wearing their two piece bathing suits, with their shades on, and apparently they were having a great time being boiled by the Californian sun. Coral had her long gorgeous brown hair collected in a loose ponytail and for some reason she checked her phone every few seconds, and I caught a hint of anxiety and worry in her eyes.
Deciding that there wasn't anything else to do; I laid myself beside Lyanna.
My phone buzzed and I picked it up and checked the screen. It was from Sean. For some reason, a smile crept up to my lips when I read his text.
S- Heyyyy! Whats up?
Me- Nothing much. Just hanging at the beach with Aly and Coral. I have two more minutes to officially become a fried prawn :) what about you?
I was actually serious. I could literally feel the sweat trickling down my face and my short strands of hair were basically sticking to my forehead. Attractive huh?
S- Haha quite an interesting metaphor. I'm with the guys and I was thinking of coming over ;)
Why did that stupid winking emoticon make my heart flutter for a second?
Me- It's not a metaphor. I'm being boiled like a lobster and all because of Aly. Uhhh the guys...?
S- oh... Jayce and Ellis. Is that a problem???
Of course I wouldn't be telling him that Jayce is considered a problem in my dictionary now would I.
Me- no no its fine :) come over we can all have some fun too! (But don't get Ellis if he's going to brag about how he beat me today grrr)
S- Hahaha don't worry I got him under control ;)
I turned my attention to Coral and Aly and spotted Coral texting furiously. "Hey, Coral? You okay?"
Her head shot at me and her face softened, "yea um... I'm fine I just have to take this call."
She got up quickly and moved a couple of steps away when she answered her phone. Okay, weird.
"What's wrong with her?" Aly said, lifting herself up on her elbows.
"I don't know. She seems anxious." I replied, my gaze still raking over a very frustrated Coral talking on the phone. Her cheeks were flushed and I was guessing she was on the verge of crying. "Anyway, the guys are coming here by the way."
"Seriously? I barely have any makeup on and my hair is in a stupid bun!" Lyanna yelled, her hands going up to her bun to free it from its band.
I shrugged, letting myself lay back on the mat. I was wearing a simple navy swimming suit with cutouts at the waist, topped with simple denim shorts for some cover up. That is going to leave one hell of a tan-line. Watching how Aly rummaged through her 'beach makeup' bag was a very amusing scene.
My eyes were starting to close and I was about to drift off to sleep when a hovering figure above me called my name. "Little miss Ashton! Hey you don't wanna be falling asleep here or you'll wake up as a sundried tomato."
My eyelids fluttered open to find Jayce's piercing midnight eyes staring at me with amusement. I quickly sat upright and took off my sunglasses. "Oh my god why are you towering over me? You blocked out all my sun!"
"You should be thanking me for that, shortcake. Do you want to become a peeled orange?"
Shoving him roughly aside, I stood up and dusted the sand from my thighs and waist. "Wasn't I supposed to be a sun- dried tomato? Why are you here anyway? Where are Sean and Ellis?"
"Wow, you almost sound like you're not happy to see me Ashton."
I shoved him again, this time a bit more roughly. "Oh no Jayce I am delighted to see you! I have been awaiting your arrival so eagerly and now that you're here I can finally cross off one thing off of my wish-list. Thank you god for sending him to me! Thank you!" I said, with the most sarcastic tone I could muster.
A grin spread on his face, But it wasn't a genuine one, instead it was that of amusement and surprise. "I'm glad you finally admitted to that. It's not a good thing to keep your feelings bottled up."
I shoved him for the third time and he merely laughed. I was supposed to hurt him, not make him laugh. Deciding to ignore his continuous sarcastic remarks, I looked around for Sean and Ellis and spotted them coming over with some soda cans in a plastic bag. They must've been in that cafeteria getting some drinks.
I wore my flip-flops, picked up my sand filled mat and dusted it purposefully in Jayce's direction, earning a 'hey what the hell!' from him as he tried cleaning out his eyes from the many particles of sand that just flew at him.
Hey, he deserved it.
Innocence was plastered all over my face when I said, "oh sorry pretty boy, I didn't see you there!"
He just grumbled and continued cleaning his clothes from the sand. I couldn't help but notice how his shorts were perfect length, a couple of inches above his knees. He was wearing a tight fitted white shirt that wasn't quite opaque and I could see some abs peeking out.
What? It's too obvious not to notice!
His already messy raven-black hair was even messier than usual because of the beach currents. And it didn't help that he ran his fingers through it a lot too. From the excruciating hot weather, his pale face had hints of pink dusted on his cheeks and it made him look slightly more intimidating in my opinion.
"Hey! I got you some drinks."
Averting my gaze from Jayce, I felt Sean placing an arm on my shoulder with a sweet smile on his flushed face.
"You didn't have to do that. That's really sweet," I smiled back.
"I figured you must be thirsty since you were being fried," he said, his smile growing wider.
I chuckled and I noticed his eyes flicker for a second to my lips but he quickly returned his attention to my eyes.
Were they chapped? Did I need more lip balm? Oh, no. Oh, shit.
Ellis spoke up, taking my attention away from Sean's emerald colored eyes. "So you decided to come to the beach to relieve the pain of losing to me?"
"I swear to god I'm gonna drown you right here and now with my bare hands." I said, breaking away from Sean's grasp and he cleared his throat, backing away.
Jayce chuckled his annoying chuckle, "You've awoken the beast."
"Woah, Woah Ash I know it hurt but don't let your sorrow get the best of you!" Ellis said, putting up his hands in surrender.
I sighed. Ellis was actually pretty good in Xbox and he was the first guy ever to beat me that easily. I mean, I put up a pretty good fight. "Okay fine, I'll admit you're good."
He raised a fist in the air, as if in victory, "Yes! I am approved by Ash the Great!"
We all laughed at his words simultaneously.
Their group seemed to be missing someone and I couldn't help but notice. "Hey, where are Derek and Rina?"
Jayce had his arms crossed and he shrugged, "Probably having some really heated sex session."
My eyes widened, "What?"
"Sex session. You know, banging for a simpler term?" He replied with a half-smile.
Sean gave him a rough jab in the ribs and muttered a shut up to him.
"I thought Derek was Coral's boyfriend?" I said, confused by the whole thing.
Jayce was eager to make more fun of the situation but Sean answered back quickly, "Yeah, Yeah he is. Ignore what Jayce said."
Ellis looked uncomfortable and after a while he broke the tension with some lame puns that we all couldn't help but laugh at, and the whole thing was forgotten.
I suddenly realized Lyanna wasn't around. Some distance away, I found her standing with Coral as she gave her a comforting hug. I wonder what's happening. They were starting to approach us and Coral was wiping away some tears.
"Oh hey guys you came!" Coral squealed, perfectly concealing that she was crying a couple of minutes ago.
She hugged each of the three guys and Jayce made this choking voice, causing her to pull back and slap him on his chest. Rubbing the spot she hit him, he said "I told you I hate hugs. Stop hugging me!"
"Can I kiss you then?" She countered, as she leaned towards him playfully.
"No! Get your thirsty ass away from me!" He said, ducking away from her. She simply laughed and looked at me when she said, "See? I can make him uncomfortable just by a simple move."
I laughed at this scene that was happening before me. They all seem to have a pretty strong relationship and it reminded me of our trio, Liam, Aly, and me.
Lyanna was playing with a strand of flaming red colored hair as she stared at Ellis. She must be daydreaming again. That happens way too much with Aly. I nudged her on the shoulder and mouthed a 'what was wrong?' but she just yelled an 'Owwww! You have the punch of a man!'
Isn't my best friend the sweetest?
Sean draped his arm over my shoulder again. "You guys wanna play some volleyball? It should be fun." He said, looking behind me at the beach volleyball area that they put there recently.
"Yes! I am a pro at volleyball you don't even wanna cross me." I yelled in excitement, freeing myself from his grasp again.
That wasn't a lie. I was actually pretty good and I would play every time Aly wanted to go tan at the beach or something. Because of my constant wins, and my frightening skills, some people didn't even want to play when they were assigned at the opposite team.
"Oh my god you're trying to see Ash's competitive side by your own free will? Are you crazy?" Aly said, almost too dramatically. She has told me more than once before that she would actually stay away from me when I'm in any form of competition because apparently, I turn into this crazy, sweaty form of abnormal being.
Ellis and Coral both jumped up enthusiastically chanting 'Yes! Yes! Yes!'
Jayce shrugged and Sean smiled broadly at my enthusiasm.
"Okay so here goes," Ellis started, wanting to divide the teams for our game. "Lyanna, Coral and I in one team. Ash, Jayce and Sean in another. Okay? Come on lets-"
Jayce cut him off abruptly, "I don't wanna be in the same team as Ashton."
"Why not?" Ellis said, offended of the non-approval of his teams' division.
"Because," Jayce looked me straight in the eye, a smirk playing on his tinted lips, "I want to be the one kicking her competitive all-too-knowing ass."
↜↝↜↝★↜↝↜↝
"Aly it's a ball not a highly radioactive bomb!" I yelled in Lyanna's direction. She was holding the volleyball with one hand and a disgusted look on her face.
"It's just so... gross" she said almost inaudibly, eying the perfectly normal volleyball. Oh my god if I roll my eyes can she see me all the way from the opposite side of the net? Well, at least she wasn't in my team. I know she's my best friend but having her on my team would cause me a loss and I definitely can't have that right now.
The way Jayce wiggled his eyebrows arrogantly at me when he said those words made me want to slap him so hard and pull on his hair. I was going to make him pay so bad he's going to run away crying. I can't wait.
Ellis reassigned the teams after a lot of protest by me. Firstly I didn't want to be Jayce's teammate and second, I wanted to erase that smug look on his face so fast he wouldn't know what hit him. So, Sean, Coral and I were in one team, and Lyanna, Ellis, and Jayce were in another. My team was on one side of the net and the other three were on the opposite side. Ellis borrowed a ball from the previous players when they were done with their game. And for now, it was in Lyanna's hands as she regarded it slowly, scrunching her face.
"Just pass it over for god's sake!" I yelled back at her, again.
"It's full of dirt and sand!" She cried out, throwing it on the ground. "How in hell is this better than tanning at the beach?"
I rolled my eyes for like the millionth time and felt even more infuriated when I spotted Jayce, cross armed, letting out a chuckle while he shook his head.
"Hey Pretty Boy! Pass that ball over so I can smack you with it." I said.
He walked irritably slow towards the ball and picked it up with one hand. "I know some people may have told you you're good but I think they were lying to you." He said, passing the ball from one hand to the other. "Probably because they were afraid you'd devour their flesh for supper."
Lyanna gasped and said, "Oh my god you don't wanna go there. If you doubt her abilities she'll probably kill you too."
Coral, Sean and Ellis laughed, while I was starting to fume up. Okay, he was definitely going to get his cocky ass kicked.
"I don't mean to brag but I haven't lost any match in my entire life." Jayce pressed on, still passing the ball from side to side. "Oh wait, I do. I do mean to brag because well, I'm pretty damn good."
His grin stretched up even more and I'm sure my frown was growing deeper. I was eager to throw back an insult but Sean spoke up from beside me, "Yo man let's just play! Pass the ball to Ash."
Jayce threw the ball and grunted annoyingly, "Man, she got you so freaking-"
"Heyyy! Let's play shall we?" Sean cut him off quickly as he caught the ball midair and passed it over to me.
I caught a glimpse of Sean running a hand through his hair nervously and shooting Jayce a glare but I brushed it off. Its time to kick some ass, especially that belonging to a dark haired idiot.
↜↝↜↝★↜↝↜↝
We were playing for about forty five minutes now. I didn't exactly keep track of the time because I was so into the game that everything else was blocked out of my mind. If it wasn't for Aly whining every few seconds that 'oh my god it's been forty minutes! I wanna go tan!' I wouldn't have known how long we've been playing at all.
Coral was panting since the first ten minutes and she wasn't much of a help in the game anyway, but she didn't complain like Aly did. That's a relief.
I mostly relied on Sean and he relied on me. The sweat was trickling down his bare chest all the way down to his shorts and it was in fact an enjoyable sight if I wasn't so consumed in the game.
When Lyanna wasn't complaining, she was eying Ellis carefully from head to toe, absentmindedly twirling a strand of hair on her finger. She missed a couple of shots because of that and Jayce nearly went crazy when that happened.
The score was pretty close but my team was winning by three points and I couldn't help but gloat about it every few seconds.
Yes I love to win, but I also enjoyed the sight of Jayce cursing angrily, red faced, with his jet black hair sticking out in every direction. His torso was in no way tan, but instead it was so pale he almost seemed he was glowing.
What is wrong with me? Why were cute pink tinted cheeks making me lose my focus?
"Full on stare mode doesn't look good on you Ashton. Stop gaping and get your head back in the game." Jayce said, all the way across from the opposite side of the net, with a smirk playing on his lips.
Realizing that my mouth was in fact slightly hanging open, I quickly closed it and cleared my throat, "I wasn't staring. I was just wondering when you'll receive the godly revelation that you should pass the ball before we all grow old."
"I just received a revelation that you can actually become cross eyed if you stare too much." He replied back, casually.
I breathed out angrily not wanting to pursue this conversation. He wont suck me in into his stupid ways. I'm stronger than that. So I just shrugged and placed my hands on my hips, waiting for their team to resume the game.
"Yo, Aly chick! stop drooling over Ellis. We have a game to win," Jayce shot in Aly's direction, the ball in his possession. "You guys can get a room later but for now, we got to kick some ass."
He was done annoying me and he moved on to someone else. Isn't he just a hoot?
Lyanna snapped out of her bubble and her cheeks flared up. Her mouth hung open but no words came out. I'm guessing she finds Jayce so annoying by now too. Ellis shot him a glare but I caught him smiling slightly to himself.
Jayce scoffed and threw the ball high up into the air and slammed it with full force onto our direction, catching the three of us off guard. Coral quickly launched for it but missed it by mere inches, and it hit the ground, gaining their team a point.
I grunted angrily and definitely in an unladylike manner, "What the hell! We weren't ready!"
"Oh okay then. Please notify me by a text thirty minutes before when you are," Jayce said, smiling arrogantly. "Fairly earned point for The Scavengers."
I raised an eyebrow, "The Scavengers?"
"Yeah. We need a cool name since we're going to win. Think about it, The Scavengers mercilessly humiliate and crush Pink Butterflies." His smile was growing.
"Who in hell named us Pink Butterflies? And no, Scavengers is not a cool name so shut up and resume this stupid game before I come over to you and knock you down to the floor."
He laughed.
Laughed. Those weren't empty threats okay? I was so serious.
"Whatever you say, shortcake."
Oh my, he's going to get it.
I marched over to Coral and grabbed the ball that fell at her feet. She actually looked a bit frightened when she jumped away from my way.
Sean smiled in my direction, "Let's do this, Ash."
↜↝↜↝★↜↝↜↝
Ten minutes later, we were on the last set, and they managed to tie with us. I say they but it's actually a he. Jayce scored all the three goals. He was determined to beat me and that somehow suddenly gave him amazing volleyball powers. Each time he scored he would make this freakishly torturously annoying high-pitched noise and follow it by 'Ha! Suck it losers!'
This time it was Sean's turn to serve the ball. He threw it up in the air and smacked it with his hand to the other side. Jayce quickly jumped towards it and sent it back flying towards us like a bullet. I ran as fast as I can to where its supposed to land, shoving Sean away in the process. He staggered backwards a little but regained his stability shortly.
Pulling my hand backwards, I shot the ball with full force. My hair, being stuck to my forehead disgustingly, blurred my view a bit, but I ignored it. I didn't even have time to move it away.
Lyanna was standing boringly, admiring her newly manicured nails and Coral was trying to play but I always stole her shot so she just gave up and went to buy some drinks.
I saw Ellis running to get to the zooming ball, but Jayce jumped in front of him for like the hundredth time and slapped it himself so strongly it passed over the net swiftly and crashed onto our side of the floor.
Ellis grunted and shook his head, bored by Jayce's constant steals. For the first couple of times he would whine about it but then he let it go because no one can get their way with Jayce. It was simply impossible.
"Ha! Suck it losers!" Jayce yelled in amusement.
They were a point higher than us right now.
Sean stole a sideways glance towards me, probably making sure I wouldn't rage again. Thankfully, I contained myself.
I grabbed the ball from the sandy ground. I imagined it as Jayce's head and that gave me satisfaction. With full determination I threw it up and with all the force I could muster, I smacked it in Jayce's direction. It flew straight like a rocket and it collided with his stomach, causing him to grunt out. It then fell swiftly in front of him, making me jump in joy at our just gained point.
"Yes baby yes! Wow, you couldn't even stay in the lead for a minute!" I yelled out in excitement.
"What the hell! That's supposed to be a foul!" He yelled back, still rubbing the spot the ball just hit him. "You smacked me!"
My laughter was erupting and I was sure everybody in a one kilometer radius could hear it. "Aw JayJay contain you tears, it's okay it's okay."
"Calm your tatas, Ashton. You still didn't win the game. We're still tied."
I marched towards the net, wanting a closer look at this jerk.
"Well, I was the lead for a whole ten minutes and you couldn't keep it up for one. What does that tell you?"
"That basically tells me that you have Sean on your side to help your sorry ass, and I have Barbie and an idiot who cant stop staring at her."
Ellis suddenly shot his head towards Jayce and his face was flustered, "What the hell, man!"
"You think you're so good don't you? You think that because you shot your serves at my weakest player you'd win easily huh?" I shot back, still walking closer to his team's side.
"Ash!" Coral whined, knowing that she was the weak player on my team. Come on, it wasn't a secret.
"Actually, I think I'm so much better at this game because you basically missed every single one of my Fury serves so I thought maybe Coral could hit them back. Yea, imagine that; you're even worse than her."
"Fury serves? What in god's name is that?"
"It's something you can never accomplish at your current level." He shrugged, casually.
I realized I was now stomping towards him, my blood bubbling under my skin. He was standing right in front of me, his hands crossed, his hair sweaty, and his eyes daring. There was only the net between us and I was pushing it to the extent that it was stretched across my body. Threateningly, I pointed a finger at him, my mind giving me the green light to pounce and shred him up to pieces. "Don't you dare go there!"
"Really? Or what? You'll scratch me up with your pretty nails?" He said, chuckling with sarcasm dripping from his voice.
"Actually, I'll beat you up with your own leg, after I chop it off."
"Why must you turn so psychotic?"
"Because you're a bastard whose making me go crazy!"
"Yeah I can see that. You should see yourself in the mirror. Oh god."
"If it was for me, I would crack your head open like a peanut." I growled at him.
"Again with the psychotic threats. You should see a therapist."
"No, what I need is for you to stop being a walking lump of arrogance for one minute."
"I have one's number you can see. He's really helpful. Ill text it to you."
"Stop it, oh my god youre such an annoying piece of-"
Sean grabbed me by the shoulders with both hand seconds before I was about to jump over the net, and strangle Jayce with it. "Hey, I guess that's enough volleyball for today what do you think?"
"No I wanna beat his sorry-"
"Come on, let's just chill, have a drink and watch the sunset." Sean said.
"Okay..." I let go of the net and shot Jayce a disapproving look.
He chuckled annoyingly as he ran his hands through his hair. Couple of seconds ago, I was so fumed up I basically needed a bucket of ice to drown in, while he just looked so indifferent and cool about it all. That's what made me even more infuriated. How in hell can he do that?
We'll see who'll eventually win Pretty Boy. We'll see.
