Seonghwa...I'm so sorry

Seonghwa woke to hear loud pounding on the door and jumped out of bed in surprise.

"SEONGHWA! LET ME IN RIGHT NOW! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!"

Seonghwa flinched at the volume of Jongho's voice.

Hongjoong had started to wake up but Seonghwa felt like this was something Jongho didn't want to share so he told him he'd handle it. Hongjoong made a move to help him but Seonghwa insisted it was okay.

He tossed on a pair of sweatpants and his sweater from the night before, rushing to the door before Jongho knocked again. He opened it and stepped into the hall, shutting the door behind him.

He gasped at the sight before him.

Jongho's eyes shone with tears and his face was wet with them. His eyes looked frantic. He stared up at Seonghwa and Seonghwa felt guilt in his eyes. But mostly, betrayal.

Pain.

Seonghwa pulled Jongho into a hug, still not sure what was wrong but knowing it was what he needed right now.

Jongho tried to talk but Seonghwa silenced him, stroking his back until he let everything out into Seonghwa's chest.

Seonghwa decided they might be making too much noise in the hallway so he asked Jongho if they could go to his room. This just made Jongho cry more so Seonghwa ended up taking him down to the lobby and into one of the public bathrooms.

Finally Jongho had calmed down a bit and Seonghwa waited for him to talk.

"Seonghwa...I'm so sorry."

"What happened?"

"I—I trusted him. I thought—I thought he loved me."

"Who?"

Seonghwa started to realize he already knew the answer.

"Yeosang."

Seonghwa felt his heart drop seeing the heartbreak in Jongho's eyes and he placed his hands on Jongho's cheeks and held his face gingerly.

"What did he do to you?"

"It's not his fault. I'm the one who was manipulated. I was the fool."

"Manipulated?"

Jongho bit his lip and looked away. Seonghwa pulled his gaze back.

"Yeosang...he's not really a KQ employee."

Seonghwa pulled away.

"What? What do you mean?"

"He's...he's the spy."

Seonghwa staggered backwards.

There was a spy. There had really been a spy. Hongjoong was just to throw them off. He'd been fooled. He'd been tricked.

And not to mention...Yeosang might have heard his real name. On the bus.

But Wooyoung and San...they trusted Yeosang.

And so did Jongho...

Seonghwa turned back to him, ready to stay firm. If Jongho trusted him that much, he might have said something he shouldn't have. He trusted Jongho but...Seonghwa had let his own secrets slip to Hongjoong so he wouldn't blame him if he had.

"What did you tell him."

Jongho looked away.

"Jongho. What does he know."

"I trusted him. I—I loved him."

"What did you say, Jongho??"

"I told him everything! Anything he asked about, I told him everything! He's probably been keeping an eye on us from the start!"

Seonghwa couldn't believe what Jongho was saying.

"You didn't tell him..."

"I did."

"You didn't tell him...you wouldn't have..."

"I told him your real name."

"Jongho...that's the one thing you've sworn...if you ever tell anyone...you have to resign."

"I know."

"Jongho...."

Seonghwa pulled Jongho into his chest again, surprising the younger.

"He must have really been special to you."

Jongho started to cry again and Seonghwa held him firm.

"I'm so sorry hyung, I shouldn't have been so careless!"

"You were tricked. It's not your fault."

"You really don't hate me?"

Jongho pulled back and Seonghwa felt tears welling in his own eyes at how sad Jongho looked.

Seonghwa shook his head.

"How could I ever hate you?"

Jongho smiled lightly, using a shaky laugh to hide a few tears that fell from his eyes.

"I'm so sorry—"

"I know. You don't have to keep saying it. I know."

"I do—I messed everything up! They're going to bring down your company!"

"That's my problem. Not yours. I'm just glad you told me."

"There's...there's something else I haven't told you yet."

Seonghwa didn't think Jongho could look more upset but a shadow had fallen over his face.

"You can tell me anything—"

"Not this. This will destroy you."

Seonghwa felt his breathing speed up. Surely he couldn't be so sure.

"Just tell me, Jongho."

"I can't...I know I need to..."

"Tell me. I can handle it."

"You don't understand."

"Try me."

"I can't bare to see you hurt in the same way as me."

Seonghwa felt his breath catch.

"What are you saying?" he asked, trying to remain calm. He couldn't let his thoughts get ahead of him.

"Hongjoong...he's a spy, too."

Seonghwa knew the answer already. The little voice inside of him had never left, the voice that worried he'd been fooled this whole time. He should have listened.

"So you're saying...I've been played this whole time."

"Seonghwa..."

"This whole god damn time—he's just been playing me! And I kept letting him slip by! This whole time!"

Seonghwa felt sick. Knowing he'd let him kiss his lips, let him violate his body. But it hadn't felt like a violation. It felt real. He shook his head. He had been played. Everything was a lie.

"He's not going to get away with this. I'm going to him now, he needs to see how he hurt me!"

Seonghwa started to storm off but Jongho grabbed his arm firmly.

"Seonghwa think about this! I know you're upset but—we can use this to our advantage—"

"I don't care about a fucking advantage! They already know my name there's nothing we can do now. We're already fucked. This is all I can do."

"That's not true—if we use this information to our advantage we could—"

"Jongho, please. I have to do this. He has to know how much he hurt me. And...I have to know...I have to know if it was all really an act."

Jongho wanted to hold him back but the heartbreak in Seonghwa's eyes caused him to let go. He watched as Seonghwa stormed out of the bathroom.
