3 - Close Isn't Close Enough

Lia's P.O.V.

"Fuck! I'm late." I say to myself in slight panic.
I started up the engine of my little smart car.
It was limited edition blue with white details. I looked like the snow queen.
It's exterior is bright blood orange, a little different from the outside.

Nevertheless I loved it and it was dead expensive.

I arrived at the school gate 5 minutes quicker then usual, the school was dead, everyone was inside.

I fixed my makeup and hair, adding another ring to my already weighed down hands.

I got out of my car and proceeded to the cheap, painted doors.

This school could do with a lick of paint - I thought to myself peeling a small piece of cracked paint as I walked past.

As I walked down the corridor, I could see the principles office in front of me.
I'd be sent there anyway, whether I go straight in or detour to main office first.

Miss Milligan worked in main office and she was bound to be on her own in there.

She's a quiet lady that rarely wears nice clothes or ANY jewellery.
To be honest, if you didn't pay close enough attention, you'd think she was a man. She had short shaved hair and she always wore over-the-knee shorts no matter what weather.

I decided to go see her first.

As I walked in the office, Miss Milligan is reading on a HUGE pile of papers. I could barely see her behind them!

"Late again?", she asked, unsurprised.

"Yeah, sorry Miss, shower stopped working, had to wait for the boiler guy." I stumbled across a few words.

"Principles office."
She said it quite sternly, although I didn't blame her with all that paperwork.

I took a red slip from her desk.

"Thanks" I replied, sarcastically.
