Chapter 16
Chelsea and Blake walk into the hotel.
They greet the receptionist behind the desk. "A room for Chelsea Wilson,"
"How funny, a girl and a boy came in here for only 10 minutes ago, and she had the same last name as you." The woman was trying to make some small talk while she typed away on her computer, but she doesn't know they are related.
"A boy?" Chelsea asks, with curiosity. The woman merely nods her head and continues to type away. "Did he had brown hair, along with dark blue eyes?" Her words fall from her mouth before she can control herself, and the receptionist looks at her weird.
"How did you know that?"
Blake can see that Chelsea is about to explode, so he quickly cuts in. "Can we get our keys, please?"
The woman hands him the key. "Here you go. Enjoy your stay."
Blake takes hold, on Chelsea's hand, but before they near the elevator, Chelsea slams, a hand on the desk, startling the young woman. "Which number does the other Wilson live in?"

Mila has just walked out of the shower when she hears a loud bang on the hotel door. She hurriedly puts on some sweats, with her hair still wrapped around in a towel.
When she opens the door, nothing could have prepared her for seeing her mom once again.
Chelsea pushes, the door wider so she can walk in, and Mila quietly closes it after her.
"Why the hell did you bring him here?" Chelsea hisses.
Mila crosses her arms over her chest and narrows her eyes, "Did you bring Blake?"
Chelsea too narrows her eyes and follows her daughters' movement, "Answer my question."
"How is it any different than I brought Kyle when you brought Blake?" Mila questions to her, now fuming mom.
"When did you get so disrespectful to me?" Chelsea answers, surprisingly sounding a little bit sad.
Mila is taken back by the vulnerability in her voice, but she doesn't show it - one of the abilities she had learned from her. "The moment you stopped caring about me." She snaps back.
Chelsea grimaces, which is very unlike her. All the anger she had shown has now faded, and all you can see on her face is regret.
Mila shakes her head as she notices her mom's heartbroken, expression and she takes a step back.
She raises her finger and notes that it is slightly shaking. "Y-You don't get to do this, not now. Not after 2, years." Tears are streaming down her face.
"You, really think I don't care about you?" Chelsea's voice is barely a whisper, but she gets it out.
Mila hurriedly wipes away the tears with shaking hands. "Of course you don't! Who could care about a murderer?"
Chelsea violently shakes her head and takes a step forward her daughter. "You are not a murderer!" Her voice holds determination - leaving no room for argument.
Mila looks at her with wide eyes. "W-What? I-I was the one who pulled Peter into our lives. I-I was the one who thought I could leave him without any complications. I-I was the one who didn't save grandma! You were the one who reminded me of that every single day."
Her mom too looks at her with wide eyes, "I did no such thing!"
Mila lets out a humourless chuckle, "Oh, no you didn't say anything, but I could see it in your eyes. Every time you looked at me, I could see the hatred."
Now it is Chelsea's turn to spill tears. She shakes her head in denial, even though, she knows what Mila is saying is true. "Don't you think I regret that! The moment I slammed that door in your face, I regretted it. These last 2, weeks I have thought a lot about the last 2, years and how I have treated you. Trust me, there is a lot of things I regret, but I want you to know that I never stopped loving you." She wipes away her tears before she continues. "Yes, I blamed you at first. And I guess, I use you as a scapegoat." Chelsea takes a deep breath before she continues. "I was, and still are, dealing with my grief, and I took it out on you. I know I have never been the perfect mom, but I did the best I could."
Mila takes a deep breath as she takes in her mom's words.
"Please, say something."
"What do you want me to say? We should never have had this conversation! I too know I have never been the perfect daughter, but you let me think you hated me. The moment I needed you the most, I had lost you."
Kyle softly knocks on the door and comes in. When he sees the situation in front of him, he quickly walks out again.
"I brought Kyle here because I needed to tell someone. To get it off my chest." Mila says as she notices Kyle walking back outside.
"In our house, you were never allowed to mention that night, and it was tearing me apart." She continues. "Nick is secretly blaming me for having to leave his girlfriend and all his friends. Dad is blaming me for ruining your relationship once again. And you blame me for killing grandma."
Kyle can hear the crack in Mila's voice as she stops talking and he quietly goes around, Chelsea and pulls Mila into a hug.
Mila immediately hugs him back and once again she cries in his arms.
Chelsea watches the exchange with narrowed eyes. "Why couldn't you tell Irina? Why did it have to be a boy!" Her voice sounds frustrated - which is, exactly, what she is.
Mila removes herself from Kyle's embrace. Kyle never leaves her side though. "I don't know..." She answers truthfully. She doesn't know why she chose Kyle. All she knows is that he was there, and he supported her, even though he didn't know what was going on.
"Don't you see what I have been trying to do? I never liked Jace, nor did I like Ryan. Did you, really think Kyle was an exception?"
Kyle and Mila are both taken back from her words.
"I've been trying to protect you. Our family! The first boy you brought into our lives, ruined it! Sometime later, Jace showed up, and he got threatened by Peter along with yourself. Then we move to a new city, and you meet another boy. You tell him and your new friends the outline of our past, and it blows up in your face. Both you and Ryan ended up in the hospital. And now you are here with Kyle, another boy. I wonder what is going to go wrong this time since you told him everything!" Chelsea ends.
Mila's mouth is opening and closing, as she doesn't know what to answer. She never thought, that her mom was trying to protect her.
"So, that is why you were so angry when I came over 2, weeks ago..." Kyle thinks out loud.
Chelsea gives him a disapproving look. "Yeah," Is her only answer.
Kyle quickly closes his mouth, as he discovers what he just said to her.
Mila looks down at the ground and intakes all the new information there has been giving her. Turns out, that her mom was blaming her for that night, but now she regrets it. She still loves her, even though her actions had shown otherwise, and all the times they fought about Jace, Ryan or Kyle Chelsea only did it because she wanted to protect their family.
"Why now?" Mila asks after some time.
Chelsea takes a deep intake, "Why not, now? Peter is going to trial tomorrow, and all this will finally be over."
Mila nods her head in understanding.
"I forgive you."
Both Chelsea and Kyle practically jump in shock at Mila's words.
Tears well up in Chelsea's eyes as she looks at her daughter. "Seriously?"
Mila doesn't answer. Instead, she does something unexpected - she hugs her mom. They haven't hugged for 2, years.
A huge weight has just been lifted from their shoulders.
"I think I'll just go into my own room now..." Kyle says awkwardly.
As he walks by, Mila lifts her head and mouths a 'thank you' to him. He only nods his head and walks out of the door.
