Dear Jesús Manuel,

I finally decided to get a job.

Ever since we started dating, you told me I could stop working and that you would be able to provide for me without a problem. I never liked living off your money, no matter how much of it you have. It has made me feel useless, and almost like you pay for my company. But you convinced me one day, saying it would be temporary.

Though I love you with all my heart and I know you won't very pleased with the idea (in Mexico, you once mentioned to me, it is more customary for women to stay home and men to work, or at least back then it was true), I couldn't stay in our apartment all day. Being without you for so many days of the week and then not having anything to do at home (you made sure to hire a maid that comes by every week to do all the chores for me), I get bored.

I needed something to do, so I was hired at a local grocery store, bagging groceries and occasionally taking them out to a client's car. Its nothing heavy, so I'll be okay.

I still know how it will surely bother you, but as much as I love you, there are some things I have to decide on my own.

Sincerely,

Edda Van Horn.
