Chapter 1

Jang Wonyoung stood outside the tall skyscraper.

The Park Group owned this building, one of many, and ran businesses that gained millions a year, internationally too.

There were many companies and departments under Enhypen Company. Jewellery designs, fashion designs, including bags and shoes, children's toys manufacturing, restaurants, bakeries, sports facilities and equipment, and technology manufacturing. The last one, was the company's main business, with fashion being second. All this was owned by the Park Group, one of the richest families in the whole of South Korea.

Currently, Enhypen Company was being run by the two sons, Park Jong Seong and Park Sunghoon, the younger of the two taking the position of CEO of the main business while his older brother dealt with most of the overseas business.

Wonyoung didn't know how she managed to land an interview with the company, but here she was, standing outside Lab-BE Technologies.

Entering the building, Wonyoung was in awe at everything she saw. It was spotless, smart and advance in decorations and in everything else.

"Hello. May I help you?" The receptionist at the desk asked, smiling.

"Hello, I'm here for an interview for the job of the CEO's secretary and assistant," Seo Beom replied.

"Oh right! You're name?" The receptionist scrolled through a list on her computer.

"Jang Wonyoung. The interview is at 11:30," Wonyoung said.

"Right, if you come with me, I'll take you to the waiting area," The receptionist stood up and lead the way.

In the lifts, the receptionist spoke again. "You know, this is the fifth time we've had to post this job offer in the last three months. The others quit or were fired," She said.

       "Oh? Why's that?" Wonyoung asked.

"The CEO can be quite strict about certain things and stuff, especially rules," The receptionist explained, "like he doesn't tolerate people or employees getting drunk at his place because of personal reasons. The last secretary was fired for going to his place to hand over business documents but was so drunk and she also had a complete stranger, also drunk, with her."

     "Oh," Wonyoung was surprised.

"But don't let that deter you from taking on this job. The CEO is very kind and caring, though he tries to keep that fact hidden," The receptionist said encouragingly.

Wonyoung was offered a coffee as she sat making sure she had brought everything with her. While checking over her portfolio, someone tapped her on the shoulder.

Turning around, a tall man dressed in a suit stood, an almost panicked and frantic expression on his face.

"Excuse me, ma'am, sorry to bother you, but have you seen two kids around? A boy and a girl, around this height," The man gestured with his hand.

      "Sorry, I haven't," Wonyoung apologised.

"Oh help us all, hyung is going to kill me!" The man exclaimed, raking a hand through his dark hair. "Sorry for bothering you again." Bowing, the guy left in a hurry.

Wonyoung was about to call after him to offer her help when a lady appeared, calling her name.

"Miss Jang Wonyoung? Come this way," The lady bowed.

Wonyoung gathered her things and followed the lady into the interview room.

"Hello, Miss Kim, have a seat," A guy smiled warmly at her.

   "Hello," Wonyoung greeted back.

She took out her portfolios and her resumes and handed them over.

As the man looked through them, he asked questions and commented on them.

"So, you majored in Computer Science, Art and Design, and Design and Manufacture," He said.

"Yes sir," Wonyoung nodded, "After graduating from university, I went into designing clothes for a small company for a couple of years."

"These a really good," The man said, looking through her designs.

"They're from my portfolios that I have done during university and in my spare time," Wonyoung explained.

"I believe you're perfect for the job as you have several degrees. You will be the secretary for Mr Park, and he'll be seeing to a lot of the work, not just the Tech Company," He said, "Do you think you're up to it?"

     "Yes," Wonyoung said confidently.

The man nodded, "Right then, if you sign this, you can start working tomorrow," He pushed over the contract.

Wonyoung picked up the pen and signed in a couple of places.

"By the way, my name is Lee Heeseung, I'm the head of the fashion department," The man introduced himself.

"Hello, nice to meet you," Wonyoung smiled, shaking his hand.

"Um, this might be an odd question, but," Heeseung looked nervous for a second, "how good are you with children?"

A man sat at his desk going through a mountain of paperwork. He rubbed his forehead in exasperation.

Project after project was coming through: clothing and jewellery for films; gowns for red carpets; hosting a sports competition in Busan; planning and creating the entire menu for the dinner party at the Blue House.

      He just wanted a break.

Dropping the pen, he buried his face into his hands, sighing.

"Dad? Are you okay? I brought you cookies!" A little voice piped up beside him.

Subconsciously, he smiled and lifted his head. The little voice was certainly familiar. He turned his chair round.

There, a small boy, about six years old, stood holding a box of chocolate chip cookies.

"Han Seo! You sneaky terror, what are you doing here?" Park Sunghoon scooped up the boy onto his lap and hugged him.

"Ni-ki hyung brought us here. He said you might need cheering up," Park Han Seo beamed up at his dad, "we brought cookies!" He repeated, holding up the box.

"Where's Mi Cha then?" Sunghoon asked, taking a cookie and eating it.

"She's coming. She's just looking at all the pictures. Don't know why, she sees them all the time when we come here," Han Seo shrugged.

Sunghoon looked suspiciously at his son.

"Did you two run off from Ni-ki again?" He asked.

Han Seo tried to look innocent.

"You two are absolute terrors," Sunghoon laughed, ruffling his son's hair.

"Daddy!" Another little voice screamed, the doors flinging wide open.

Sunghoon had just enough time to place the box onto his desk before a little girl came barrelling into his arms.

"Hello princess!" He kissed her forehead as he pulled her up to sit next to her brother.

"Do you like the cookies? I helped cook bake them!" Mi Cha said proudly.

"Did you?! I love them!" Sunghoon smiled, bopping her nose. She giggled.

He then reached out and pressed a button on his telephone set.

"Jake hyung, please find Ni-ki and tell him to come to my office, the kids are with me," He requested.

"Sure! Tell them I say hi!" Jake's voice came through.

"Hi uncle Jake!" The two kids yelled into the intercom.

"Hi Han Seo, Mi Cha! Hope you're cheering your dad up! See you later!" Jake said.

    "Bye!"

Sunghoon lead the two kids over to the couch by the big window and sat with one on either side, eating cookies.

"Ni-ki hyung said that he was going to take us to the ice-skating rink later!" Han Seo exclaimed excitedly.

"Really?! Without me?" Sunghoon pretended to sulk.

"Oh, you can come too if you want!" Mi Cha piped up.

Before Sunghoon could reply, the doors were flung open once more and Ni-ki stood breathing heavily.

"There you two are! I've been looking all over for you," He pointed at them, a small smile escaping from the corners of his lips as he saw the scene in front of him.

"Hyung! Hyung! Can dad come with us when we go ice-skating? Pretty please!" Han Seo and Mi Cha jumped off the couch and ran up to their bodyguard.

"Yes, pretty please!" Mi Cha pleaded.

Ni-ki looked up at Sunghoon with a raised eyebrow.

       "Hyung?" Ni-ki asked.

Sunghoon didn't reply, instead, walking over to his desk, and pressing the button for his intercom.

"Hyung, clear my schedule for the rest of the day," He said, smiling at the children.

"I'll prepare the car seats then," Jake's voice came through.

"Yay!" The two children celebrated, dancing in circles round Ni-ki's legs.

Sunghoon chuckled. A little break wouldn't hurt, plus, he desperately needed it.
