Chapter 9

Kayleigh decided to take a walk on the abandoned school garden which is on the back part of the school, "No trespassing" sign was placed so she went in. She sat on the bench and looked around the garden, she didn't find anything unsual, then she spots an house dwarf who was cutting the grass. She went near him and talked to him.

"Um... hey, sir. There is no need to cut that" She said to the dwarf who was cutting the grass. The dwarf stoped cutting and answered.

"No, Its because this garden has been my home for almost 30 years." He answered.Kayleigh curiously stared at him.

"You mean you live in a garden?"

He shooked his head.

"This is a secret from the past, but am I gonna tell you?" He asked while looking into her eyes to see if she can be trusted.

"Its not like it's a really deep secret, is it?" She asked, he nodded.

"I worked here in this garden ever  since I was a kid, Its just so happened that 23 years from now, wizards and witches fought each other, there  were 2 sides and it's like a war. Which caused the school to collapse, they regenerated the school and all, except for this. "

"Why 'except this'? What'd you mean? What's the war all about?" She asked curiously.

"Its 'He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named------" he stopped, realizing that he almost spilled a secret. "shouldn't said that" he continued while slapping his mouth. Kayleigh stated at her.

"What? Who is he?"

"Im sorry Ms. that's all I can tell. But promise to keep this all a secret, Professors don't like hearing the past. And you don't want me to go in trouble, cause if I do, you will too." He told her softly so no one could hear. And as Kayleigh nodded he snapped his fingers and disappeared. Then she heard someone called her.

"Ms. Black!" She looked behind and saw Professor Aims calling her. "What were you doin there Ms Black? She asked as Kayleigh approaches her. Kayleigh looked at her directly in her black deep set eyes.

"Could you tell me what happened 23 years ago?" She asked curiously, she didn't take her eyes off Ms. Aims but Aims looked away.

"Why couldn't you tell me?" Kayleigh continued as she noticed that Ms. Aims was hiding a secret from the past.

"We. Can talk about that in my office. " Ms. Aims answered and walked away.

"Why not here?" Kayleigh murmured.

She entered their History of Magic class, she was late but she just entered anyway. She sat next to Lavender who reserved her a seat. The class was completely boring which cause the other students to sleep while Professer Feeman was discussing. Kayleigh couldn't stop thinking about what happened 23 years ago so she raised her right hand causing Feeman to notice her.

"Um, yes Ms. Haise?" Feeman asked her while he stopped discussing about the lesson.

"Could you tell us more about what happened......" she stopped as she remembered that dwarf said that they don't like bringing the past to topic.

Feeman curiously stared at her, as he raised an eyebrow "What Is Haise?" He asked

"Um. About the... Past.? About what happened 23 years ago." she answered but she didn't looked away from Feeman who seemed to be sadden and angry at the same moment. The students was back again with their own selves as Kayleigh brought up the topic about the past 23 years ago.

"It. It was nothing. Nothing really important happened in the past, Ms. Black" He answered while avoiding eye contact to the students.

"Then how do you explain the war, sir?" Kayleigh asked again. Feeman can't look directly into the students eyes, avoiding eye contact.

"Um.. A war never happened here--"

"Yes, it did. Why are you hiding it from us? Is there something from the war that we cannot know, sir? " Kayleigh blurted out

"As I said, it was nothing. Nothing more important." He protested as he raised an eyebrow. "Class dismiss" he continued as he walked out of the classroom.

"Kayleigh, what do you mean about the war?" Llavender asked while trying to catch up from Kayleigh who was walking too fast. "And how do you even know that? Is that even true?" She continued.

Kayleigh nodded and continued walking. They ended up inside the library. Llavender curiously looked at her while she searched each book shelves.

"And what are you even finding?" Llavender asked, rolling her eyes but Kayleigh still continues to search "Can't you even calm down? And why are even curious about the war? It doesnt even matter anymore, it's all in the past. Forget about it"

Kayleigh grabbed a book and sat in front of Llavender.

"I'm curious all about 'He who shall be named'. I wanted to know all about him and why he's called like that. And I haven't heard of him" she said, trying to keep contact with Llavender. They curiously stared at each other.

"Huh? Haven't heard of him neither. Was he supposed to be,some kind of evil sorcerer or something?" Llavender said, Kayleigh nodded unsure.
