Chapter 64

Soraru opened his eyes and looked around his surroundings. He saw that he was in a dark place, it was completely pitch black. There seemed to be nothing there at all.

The raven-haired began to move his feet and walk around, he knew he was walking yet it felt like he wasn't moving at all.

He walked for what felt like minutes, maybe even hours. He was starting to get tired from all the walking.

Screams were eventually heard and Soraru looked towards the direction. He widened his eyes in fear as he began to tremble a bit.

The scene that was oh so familiar to him, the scene that he desperately tried to forget, played out. N-N-No,n-no, no, no—

The tiredness of his legs were soon forgotten as he attempted to run. He wanted to stop it, he didn't want to remember about that. As he was about to run to pull them back, he felt like he was glued to the floor.

He could only watch a younger version of him cry out as the short brunette's body was thrown from the impact.

His younger self's voice echoed in his mind, the same thoughts that he had when it happened.

Soraru lost strength in his legs and fell to his knees, he clenched his head as a headache began, similar to the one that occurred on that day. S-Stop!

Fate can be cruel right?

He weakly looked up and was met with the sight of his younger self crying as a figure stood in front of him. The figure held out their hand towards his younger self with a smile that seemed sinister.

You want to change fate? You want to be able to turn back time?

Then so be it.

Those same words could be heard in his head as tears began to leave his eyes. The headache was unbearable, it hurt so much that Soraru could barely hear anything.

The ability to turn back time can be both a blessing and a curse.

Well this is your choice.

What a twisted game of fate for such innocent and naive humans.

He saw that his younger self had passed out as the scene went away. The figure then turned to look at the raven-haired before grinning.

Soraru felt his vision get blurry, the pain wouldn't go away at all. He tried to slowly get up, he managed to do so with the little strength he still had left.

Once he was on his feet he looked around, only to see the death of his friends play out, one by one.

Soraru cried out, but no sound was heard from him. He desperately tried to find his voice, but there was no point, nothing could be heard.

I wonder how much you can deal with this until you lose your sanity.

Humans are such selfish creatures. They think that they can change fate on their own.

But their fate had been long decided.....

It's honestly funny.

Such naive, stupid, greedy creatures.

Oh well, that will change eventually.

I can't wait to see this play out.

Soraru felt his eyes get droopy as he began to lose consciousness. He managed to look at the figure that was now in front of him.

But instead of seeing just them, he saw two other people standing on either side of him.

They looked to be around the same age as him. Their faces were blurry, making it unable for him to identify them.

His eyes then closed as he fell to the ground with a soft thump. The last thing he heard was a small chuckle.

Soraru jolted awake on his bed as he tried to catch his breath. The pitch black darkness of his surroundings scared him until he realized that he was awake in his room. He looked to see Urata sleeping peacefully and sighed in relief. Just a nightmare, he's okay. They're all okay.

Though the raven-haired was confused on why he had that particular nightmare again. Didn't I stop getting nightmares about that day?

Soraru took small breaths to calm himself down. The raven-haired looked at the book that was on his table. He knew that he wouldn't be able to fall back asleep immediately so he decided to check the book for a bit until he got sleepy.

He silently got off his bed to grab the book, he flipped the pages. The sakura and angel wing tattoo were slowly fading, they looked transparent on the page. The colors seemed more dull than usual, almost as if they were lifeless, void of emotions or colors.

He lazily flipped the pages, the others' tattoos were full of color and looked lively, unlike his and Sakata's. Seeing this made Soraru worry, why are ours different? He was looking at the pages for a few more seconds before deciding to go back to sleep.

As he was about to close the book, he saw a small flash appear on one of the pages. He widened his eyes as he quickly flipped to it.

The blank page finally had a design on it, it was no longer abandoned from color. Soraru just stared at it, curiosity written all over his face.

Wait, this looks similar to what I saw on Sakata's neck during the school trip. The raven-haired was confused and looked at the page.

He closed the book and put it back down as he walked to his bed again. I'll tell the others about it tomorrow. He went back to sleep, a sense of uneasiness bubbled in him as he drifted into his sleep.

Mafu was sitting in class, the September breeze was flowing by as students were writing down notes while the teacher talked. He glanced at the raven-haired sitting in front of him.

Soraru was focusing on writing down notes. Wonder what Soraru wants to tell us. The albino was curious about what the raven-haired told them at the school gates.

Soraru said that he wanted to meet up with the others at his house after school. He just told them that he had to something to tell them and that it seemed urgent. The raven-haired didn't mention anything thing else. Well maybe it's related to our ability and since Sorato was with us, he can't really say anything about it.

Mafu was wondering about it, his thoughts then drifted towards his dad. He seems pretty busy, hope he doesn't overwork himself.

The albino had asked his dad about what he was trying to research but the older male simply replied with that he was trying to find something for someone. It had been like this for a few weeks, Mafu would see his dad look at books or things relating to abilities.

One day Mafu saw that there were pictures of him with his family. The albino was curious on why he had it out but decided to not pry. His father told him to be careful of things and to be with more than one of the guys, much to the albino's confusion.

The school day went by, during lunch the guys were talking with one another. The raven-haired was thinking about the page, he just couldn't help but feel nervous. Soraru tried to act like things were okay but he just couldn't shake off the uneasiness in him.

The school day ended and the guys were walking to the raven-haired's house. Sorato had to go somewhere with his sister so he left the guys. At some point during the walk Urata changed into his ghost self as Soraru's parents were home at the moment.

Once they entered the raven-haired's house, his parents greeted the guys. Luz looked at the green eyed brunette in pity, he can't say hi to them even though he wants to. Soraru led them to his room, the guys were genuinely shocked to find it neat.

"Eh? I always pictured you having a messy room." Amatsuki commented as the raven-haired glared at him.

"Oi, what do you guys think of me?"

"That you're emotionless, cold, sometimes like to push people away, maybe a tsundere, should I continue~?" Urata teasingly asked as Soraru sighed.

"Forget I asked."

"So what did you want to tell us?" Nqrse asked as the raven-haired walked towards his desk.

Soraru grabbed the book while the others looked at him in confusion. Sakata titled his head as he spoke.

"Eh? But haven't we already looked at the book?"

"Plus there's no more new pages left, except for the blank page but that—"

Amatsuki was saying as the raven-haired opened the book to the blank page. Soraru's voice cut him off, they were shocked when they heard what he said.

"The blank page has a tattoo on it now."

The guys all widened their eyes as they stared at the book. Soraru turned the book so that the page was facing them. Mafu stared at it, his eyes wide from slight fear and panic. B-But didn't dad say that—

The blank page showed a black snake, its red eyes seemed to be staring straight at them as if it was watching its prey.

Mafu was silent as he looked at the tattoo before glancing at a certain male. Didn't I see that on his neck when he k The albino shook his head as he stared at the tattoo in confusion. But that's his tattoo, so why was it on S— Mafu snapped out of his thoughts as Senra spoke.

"So it's a tattoo, but no one else that we know died." Senra said as the others tried to think of something.

"Eh? But didn't Sorato die along with Shima and Sakata so he probably got that tattoo." Urata stated as he remembered that Shima, Sakata and Sorato died in the fire.

Senra tensed up, he looked at the raven-haired who was also silent. Soraru slightly frowned, right Urata remembers the resets too and he thinks that Sakata died in the fire but.....that wasn't the case.

The raven-haired then began to remember something about that reset. Wait, could it be that those two figures I saw before I reseted that time were... Soraru sighed as he looked at the green eyed brunette as he spoke.

"But Sorato hasn't reacted at all. Plus just like you and Sakata, it would've shown the tattoo along with Shima's and not on a separate page."

"Akimasa has an ability too right? Does he have a tattoo at all?" Luz asked the albino, who nodded his head.

"Yeah but it's an Azalea flower."

"We should tell Akimasa sensei then, maybe he can figure it out for us." Shima suggested as the others nodded their heads.

Soraru noticed that the albino seemed scared, Mafu was glancing at the redhead that was staring at the black snake tattoo.

Sakata felt like he had seen that tattoo before but he always turned his head again in fear whenever he tried to remember where exactly. Soraru gave him a concerned look before looking worriedly at the albino.

"Are you okay Mafu?"

The albino's red eyes met the raven-haired's blue eyes as Mafu nodded his head.

"Y-Yeah, just that the tattoo reminded me of my grandmother and granduncle. After all, they were full medusas."

"But you seem kinda worried." Kashitaro said as the albino nervously smiled.

"I'm fine."

They looked at him in concern and slight confusion. Mafu saw their looks and let out a small sigh. He weakly smiled at them.

"I can ask my dad about it, he probably knows more since my grandmother did give the book to him first. She probably told him about it."

"Thanks Mafu." Sakata smiled at the albino.

Mafu glanced at the redhead, he looked at Sakata's tattoo before shaking his head. No, he definitely isn't purposely doing that. I shouldn't be doubting my friends. Mafu smiled at them, this time it was bright and full of happiness.

"Don't worry guys~ I won't fail you at all." Mafu playfully said as he giggled.

The guys began to smile at the albino's cheerfulness. Soraru closed the book as he put it back down. He sighed to himself, guess it's hard to get a happy ending.
