Chapter 61

Urata and Sakata were just walking around the town. They didn't have anything in particular to see so they decided to just explore the place. Sakata was eating a popsicle that he had bought.

The redhead was enjoying the flavor as he smiled brightly while the green eyed brunette looked at him in amusement.

"You sure do enjoy eating that."

"It's sweet and yummy~"

"I figured."

"Do you want some?"

Sakata held out the popsicle towards the green eyed brunette. Urata looked at it before looking at the redhead. He pulled Sakata down for a short kiss. He looked at the redhead with a nonchalant expression as he parted from the kiss.

"It taste sweet."

"E-Eh?!"

Urata just laughed at the redhead's blushing face. He was fine with acting like this when the others weren't close by. If they find out, I'm never going to hear the end of it. The short brunette continued to walk ahead while the redhead was trying to recover from the kiss.

"U-Urata!"

"Yes?" The green eyed brunette said as he looked behind him.

Sakata's face was still flushed as he glared at the short brunette.

"D-Don't just do that!"

"Do what?" Urata innocently titled his head as if he didn't know what the redhead was talking about.

"N-N-Nothing." Sakata pouted as he went back to eating the popsicle.

Urata just smirked at the redhead's defeated, blushing face. They continued to walk around, there were some moments of bickering between them but it was just playful banter.

Sakata and Urata were talking about random things when the short brunette heard his name be called out.

"Urata?"

The green eyed brunette turned to see a blue haired girl looking at him. She looked at him with wide eyes while the short brunette widened his eyes too. Shit.

"Who's this?" Sakata asked as he looked at the green eyed brunette, he became a bit uneasy at the short brunette's slightly worried expression.

Urata tried to think of a lie, of course this had to happen now. The short brunette was mentally kicking himself for not watching out for people that would recognize him.

"H-How a-are y-you a-alive?" The girl said in disbelief as she pointed at Urata.

Sakata then realized why the green eyed brunette was worried. That must be an old classmate from back then.

"Y-You must've confused me with someone else." Urata said as the girl continued to speak.

"E-Everyone said that y-you di—"

"M-My name's Sorato!" Urata blurted out randomly before mentally cringing.

"Eh?" The girl looked at him in confusion.

"Urata, wouldn't this cause even more problems?" Sakata asked as he looked at the green eyed brunette worriedly.

"Oi, shut it."

"But what if she happens to see Sorato." The redhead stated as the short brunette wanted to do nothing more than punching himself for unintentionally screwing himself up.

"Just play along, I doubt we'd have that bad of luck."

"Yeah, I'm Sorato, and this," he gestured to Sakata, "is my friend." Urata continued to lie, he felt himself cringe more and more with every word he said.

"Oh, sorry then. You looked exactly like someone I went to school with, you both have brown hair and are short."

Urata got irritated at the last comment but decided to ignore it for now. He forced his voice to sound just like the short raven-haired and gave the girl a fake smile.

"It's okay. My hair is originally black but I was dared to dye it brown."

The girl then apologized again before leaving the two. Urata let out a sigh of relief, I'm for once grateful that I look like that bastard.

"I still think you should've probably said at least a different name." Sakata said as the short brunette glared at him.

"Well too late for that." Urata nonchalantly said as he turned around to continue walking again.

Sakata just sheepishly laughed at the short brunette's carefree attitude. They went back to walk around the town, Urata made sure to look out, and if he saw anyone that would recognize him, he'd either grab the redhead and pull him away from view or change into a ghost.

But besides that, the two males enjoyed their time together.

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

The guys were back at the beach house, they were all sitting around in the living room. Mafu looked at Urata and Soraru as a question popped into his mind.

"You know, you never told us why you moved."

"Eh? Didn't we say it was because I died and his parents didn't want him to suffer trauma." Urata said as the albino nodded his head.

"Yeah, but based on what Luz had told us before, you died seven years ago."

"That is true, why did you move here just now and not a couple of days after the incident?" Luz asked his childhood friend, who was silent at the question.

"I'm curious too." Shima said as the others nodded.

Soraru sighed as he rested his chin on his hand. I guess I can't really keep it a secret anymore.

"After Urata died, I found myself awake on my bed. I just thought that it was a bad dream and was about to go out to meet him when I heard my parents talk to his. I overheard them say that he died from an accident and that was when I realized it wasn't a dream."

"I remember my parents telling me about it. You don't know how much pain I felt when they told me so imagine how much Soraru felt when he saw it happen." Luz said as the others looked at the three in pity.

"I shut myself from everyone, not leaving my room at all. I almost didn't even go to school anymore." Soraru stated as he looked at the floor.

"Wait, you didn't get your ability? And Urata wasn't with you as a ghost?" Sakata asked as the short brunette shook his head.

"I literally woke up in a random place and tried to find my way back home," Urata said, "which was difficult because no one could see me at all."

"I got my tattoo a few days later, though unlike you guys it didn't burn me when it appeared. I didn't know what it meant so I didn't know I got an ability. I eventually found Urata, but since younger me was able to see Urata I thought others could."

"But that wasn't the case." Senra sadly said as the raven-haired nodded.

"Everyone was starting to think I was crazy or too traumatized by the incident that I was imagining my dead friend alive."

"He got bullied because of it, they eventually stopped but it was painful to watch and be unable to do much." Urata added as he glared at the ground, still irritated at it.

"So that's why you're defensive when it comes to Soraru, you really do care about him." Kashitaro said as he smiled at the short brunette.

"And that explains why you wanted to help Sakata back then." Nqrse stated as he stared at the two.

"At some point people began rumors saying that I killed Urata, at first I knew it wasn't true and defended myself," Soraru then covered his eyes with his bangs, unable to look at them, "but I then began to believe it. I started to blame myself so much that I actually tried to....."

The other words were left unsaid as the guys widened their eyes. They had a feeling that they knew what the raven-haired was implying and just stared at him in shock.

"And I succeeded. But I then found myself awake on my bed, as if that never happened."

"He tried again and again to—, but whenever he did he'd wake up on his bed with a painful headache." Urata said as the raven-haired bitterly chuckled.

"That's when I realized that I could somehow reset time and I noticed that it began to happen after I got the tattoo."

"He stopped trying and just lived his life, though it wasn't really a nice couple of years. He kept getting nightmares and memories of that day. So much to the point that his parents tried to find a way to help him."

"And then you meet my dad." Mafu said as both of the males nodded.

"He helped me get over the nightmares and learn to control my ability, it went on for a while until I finished middle school. And well, you guys know the rest." Soraru said as he finally looked up at them and gave them a small smile.

Mafu felt his heart break at the sight of the raven-haired's painful smile. He suffered so much.

"You moved here to be happy and yet you still had to watch us die." Amatsuki said as he looked down.

"But I am happy."

The guys all snapped their heads to look at the raven-haired. Soraru rubbed his neck in embarrassment as he smiled.

"I'm glad I met you guys."

"Who are you and what have you done with Soraru?" Luz jokingly said as the raven-haired then glared at him.

"Oi."

"Www never thought I'd live to see the day you smile."  Shima joked as the raven-haired rolled his eyes.

"I've smiled before."

"Rarely." Urata muttered as he grinned at the raven-haired.

"Only when you're with Mafu~" The short brunette teasingly whispered as Soraru pushed him away.

"Cut it out."

"Www you're embarrassed~"

"No."

"Www just admit it~"

"Well I'm leaving guys." Soraru said as he got up and left the living room.

"Should we go with him?" Sakata asked as the light haired male shook his head.

"He probably wants to be alone. After all, we did kinda make him relive some painful memories." Luz said as he sadly smiled at them.

"It's always him that has to constantly suffer, I'm surprised he hasn't lost his sanity." Kashitaro said as the others just shrugged at the idea.

Mafu looked out the window, the night sky was filled with stars. He saw that the others were chatting with one another and decided to enjoy the night breeze for a bit.

The albino waked out onto the porch and noticed that the raven-haired was staring at the sky. Soraru seemed peaceful as he looked at the stars shine above.

"Hey Soraru." Mafu said, the raven-haired slightly jumped at the sudden voice before glaring at the albino.

"Oi."

"Www sorry~"

Soraru just rolled his eyes as he went back to looking at the view.

They were able to see the beach from here and he liked how the stars seemed to reflect on the water.

"How can you stay calm and nonchalant after what you've been through?" Mafu asked as the raven-haired shrugged.

"I don't know, at some point I just got used to it," the raven-haired glanced at the albino, "I guess having you guys with me instead of being alone helped me cope with it."

"So you actually care about us and aren't just a cold person~" Mafu playfully said as Soraru playfully glared at him.

"Oi."

"Wwww"

"But I am glad that I met you."

Mafu stopped laughing as he stared at the raven-haired. Soraru was looking at other way, his chin rested on his hand as his elbow was on the porch fence.

"E-Eh?"

Mafu blushed a bit as he looked at the raven-haired in shock. Soraru was silent, his felt his ears warm up as he gave the albino a side glance.

"I'm glad that you always tried to get me to open up towards you and the others. And I.....love you."

Soraru said the last words quietly, he slightly blushed in embarrassment. Who knew I could sappy if I wanted to.

Mafu froze as he heard the words enter his ears. His blush became even more red as he was mentally shutting down. S-Soraru l-loves me.....

It took the albino a few seconds to process the words he just heard before he threw himself onto the raven-haired. Soraru lost his balance at the sudden tackle, he was glad that he managed to garb onto the porch to prevent himself from falling.

"Oi!"

"Www I love you too~"

Mafu blushed as he smiled at the raven-haired. Soraru felt his cheeks warm up at the albino's adorable smile before sighing. He chuckled as he ruffled the albino's hair. Guess I can be happy with them around.

The two were smiling at each other as the stars shined bright above them.
