Chapter 11
The June summer sunlight can be seen filling the sky that was clear of clouds. Children could be seen running around the town, playing with each other as they didn't worry about school. People are out of their houses to enjoy the summer weather, making plans and just living their life. During summer break, you would see people going outside to make the most of the sunny weather, or you can be like a certain raven-haired male and stay indoors.
Soraru was sitting around his living room, enjoying the cool air that was flowing from his fan. His parents were out for work so he was alone in the house, well besides having the brunette next to him. It was the day before they had planned to go to the amusement park. The raven-haired was playing games with Urata, they now had all the time we wanted to just laze around. Soraru and Urata were in a fierce, or as fierce as it can be, competition. They were laughing around, happy to have time to themselves. At least that was the idea, but while they were playing Soraru noticed he got a text from someone. After Urata won the match he went to check it.
Mafu: I'm coming over :3
"Eh?" Soraru said out loud, confused by the albino's text.
He noticed that it was sent ten minutes ago and he sheepishly laughed. Guess I still left them on mute.
The previous night Mafu had been eagerly talking about their planned fun day, the others tried to calm him down by saying they still had to wait for two more days. Soraru didn't want to deal with a hyper and annoying albino so he muted his phone and forgot to unmute it once he woke up.
"So Mafu's coming over?"
Urata was looking over the raven-haired's shoulder as he read the text. Soraru just nodded as he looked at the time. It was about 3:30 pm, he hadn't even noticed that time had passed. He thought that maybe the albino forgot and wouldn't come, until he heard a knock on his door.
"Huh? He actually came?"
Soraru got up from his spot on the floor and was about the head towards the door until Urata grabbed his hand to stop him. The raven-haired turned to give him a confused look as Urata nudged his head to gesture towards the TV. Soraru gave an 'oh' gesture before turning off the game. The screen showed two players so if Mafu saw that, he would probably question him and Soraru wouldn't know what to say seeing as how he was the only one in the house. He then went to open the door and was greeted with the sight of the albino, along with the redhead.
"Hello Soraru."
Mafu smiled as Sakata just waved at the raven-haired. Soraru looked at them for a second before nodding his head in acknowledgment. Mafu pouted at the raven-haired's lazy action.
"You can at least say hi back."
Soraru just rolled his eyes and went back to his living room as the other two males followed inside. Urata noticed that Sakata was with them as he saw the three emerge from the entrance hallway.
"Eh? Sakata's here?"
The brunette was surprised to see the redhead join the albino. Soraru just shrugged at Urata's question before focusing on the two males again.
"So why are you here?"
"How rude Soraru, I can't visit a friend's house?"
Mafu fake pouted as the raven-haired rolled his eyes again, it had become a habit once he had meet these guys. Soraru crossed his arms and rose his eyebrow at the albino.
"What are you planning now?"
Mafu stared at the raven-haired in shock as Soraru had figured out his reason. He giggled, which sounded like an angel's voice to the raven-haired's ears. Soraru shook his head to get rid of the thoughts.
"I want to come up with a plan for tomorrow."
Mafu stated as Soraru glanced at the redhead, who was just awkwardly standing there. Sakata noticed the raven-haired's gaze and spoke up.
"I figured out that Mafu has feelings for Luz. It's actually not that hard to see when you always seem to cling to him."
Sakata looked at the albino as he addressed the last part towards him. Mafu just looked away as if he hadn't heard the redhead.
"So even the idiot can tell." Urata commented, he was surprised that Sakata was able to see the albino's feelings for the light haired male. Guess he isn't as much as an idiot as I thought.
"Yet there's an idiot here who hasn't figured out his own feelings."
The brunette removed his attention from the redhead and glared at the raven-haired. Soraru noticed the glare and smirked inwardly, a small blush had crept onto the brunette's face, making him snicker to himself.
"Soraru?"
Mafu noticed that Soraru seemed to laugh to himself. The raven-haired stopped and looked at him confused. It took him about ten seconds to understand the albino's confused face and came up with a small lie.
"Sorry, just remember something funny."
"Anyways," he waved it away as he looked at Sakata. "Did you drag him along?"
"No."
"Yes."
Soraru only shook his head as the redhead semi-glared at the albino. Mafu was again looking away, as if the wall had enchanted him. Sakata sighed as he laughed to himself, Mafu is always marching on the beat of his own drum. Mafu still wasn't focusing on them and was looking around.
"So you now have Sakata helping you?"
Soraru looked at the albino amusingly. Mafu turned his attention towards the raven-haired and sheepishly smiled.
"He doesn't have to help me, knowing Sakata, he might mess up."
"Hey!" The redhead exclaimed as he heard the accusation.
"Why do we have to plan it now?"
Soraru wanted the two to leave so he can have go back to playing games. Mafu pouted as he sighed, as if he disappointed in the raven-haired.
"So that I can make sure things go smoothly."
"We can just split up into pairs and you go with Luz while the others go on their own. Shima and Senra will obviously go together, same with Kashitaro and Amatsuki." Soraru suggested as Mafu smiled.
"Great idea Soraru! I knew I could count on you as a friend."
Mafu beamed at the raven-haired, Soraru could feel a stab in his heart but chose to ignore it as he smiled back. Urata had been silent throughout the whole exchange, switching his gaze from Soraru to Mafu. The brunette sighed as he went next to the raven-haired.
"You're really okay with this?"
"Urata we agreed to stop talking about that."
"Well sorry your friend is worried about you."
The brunette mumbled as Soraru sighed. He gets it, he understands that Urata is worried about him, but the more the brunette brings it up, the more pain he feels. The raven-haired just wanted to get this over with, helping Mafu would make the albino happy and his own feelings would be gone after awhile.
"Hey Soraru, since we're here, can we go check out your room—"
"No."
Soraru immediately shut down the idea as Mafu pouted. Sakata just laughed at how the raven-haired quickly said no.
"Please~"
"No."
"Pretty please~"
"No."
"Is there a reason why?" Mafu asked the raven-haired, slightly annoyed at being denied. Soraru was about to say something but stopped himself. He didn't really have a good reason on why he was against the idea, he just wanted to annoy the albino by saying no.
"You're probably embarrassed at the idea of them seeing your disastrous room~"
"Oi. It's not disastrous."
Urata continued to tease the raven-haired as Soraru glared at him before going back to looking at the albino. He saw that Mafu was giving him a pleading look, making his heart flutter a bit. The raven-haired sighed, a faint, non-existing blush on his face, as he gave up.
"Fine."
"Yay~"
"You know you sometimes scare me on how you can convince others." Sakata commented as he nervously laughed. Mafu just grinned innocently at the redhead. They followed Soraru upstairs as he lead them to his room.
"Woah, pretty neat." Mafu commented as he looked around.
He was surprised to see it was clean and not messy. Guess even a lazy guy like him can get irritated by a messy room. Mafu was taking note of the raven-haired's room when something caught his attention. The albino looked closer to see that it was a book. Wait......this looks familiar. Mafu grabbed the book to inspect it and widened his eyes.
"Eh?"
Soraru and Sakata turned their attention towards the albino as they heard his confused tone. They walked to him, Soraru saw what he was holding.
"Why do you have this book?" Mafu asked the raven-haired, who tilted his head in confusion.
"Someone gave it to me, why?"
"I had this book too, it's one of a kind so I'm just confused on how you got it." Mafu was now looking at the raven-haired in slight cautiousness.
"Why does Mafu seem worried about you having the book?"
Soraru just shrugged at the brunette's question. The albino continued to look at the raven-haired.
"Maybe there were other copies of it and someone gave it to him as a gift." Sakata thought out loud as Mafu shook his head.
"That's impossible. This is the only one made."
Urata was just as confused as Soraru. Didn't sensei Akimasa give it to us though?
"A therapist from my old town gave it to me when I was younger." Soraru said as Mafu looked at him in confusion.
"A therapist....."
"What was their name?" Sakata asked the raven-haired, hoping that mentioning the person's name would make Mafu stop looking like he was on guard.
"Sensei Akimasa."
"Akimasa......"
Soraru and Sakata just watched the albino stand still in silence for a few good minutes. Mafu then sighed in irritation as he grumbled.
"He didn't tell me that he gave it away."
The two looked at him confused, Mafu realized that they were looking at him and spoke again.
"He's my dad."
"Eh?"
"Eh?"
Soraru and Urata stood there dumbfounded. Soraru then recalled faintly that the older man had mentioned having a child around his age back then.
"So you're the kid that sensei mentioned."
"Eh? Dad talked about me to you?" Mafu was confused as Sakata just watched the two talk.
"He said that you were energetic, he said that one time you decided to make curry for him when he was sick once and you put an energy—"
"Y-Yamete!" Mafu quickly put his hands over the raven-haired's mouth to stop him from talking. The albino was blushing as Soraru snickered a bit at Mafu's embarrassed expression.
"W-We don't talk about that!"
"He also said that you—"
"Yamete!"
Soraru laughed as he removed the albino's hands from his face. Mafu was blushing as Sakata looked at the sight in amusement.
"So that's how you got this book." Mafu calmed down as he looked at the book again.
"I was wondering what he meant when he said that it was gone."
"Why's it special?" Sakata asked curiously as Mafu smiled.
"Just a bunch of fairytales, my grandmother wrote it so there's only one copy. That's kinda why I was afraid that maybe Soraru might've taken it somehow."
"Oi. I'm not the type of person that'd steal a book." The raven-haired glared at the albino, who stuck out his tongue.
"Also why did sensei give it to me? Did you not want it anymore?"
"I was cleaning my room back then and saw the book, I've read it a bunch of times so I decided to give it to my dad so he can keep it. I didn't think he'd give it to someone else."
"What's it about?" The redhead titled his head in curiosity. Urata smiled at the cute gesture.
"Just have stories, one was about a two pairs of star crossed lovers. My grandmother always seemed to favor writing romance stories."
"Maybe if you read some of her books you can figure out how to confess to Luz." Soraru teasingly said as the albino blushed.
Sakata took the book from the albino's hand, who was busy getting annoyed by the raven-haired's teasing. Urata was looking over the redhead's shoulder to look at the pages. He had actually never read the book since he wasn't interested in it. But seeing the redhead look at it curiously made him want to see it too.
The redhead flipped to a random page and saw a drawing of two males, one had dark hair while the other had brown hair. He flipped to another page and saw another pair of males, both were princes. Ah, so that's why they're star crossed. Because the prince can't be with the other male, who's seen as a demon by the kingdom. But what about the other two? Sakata was curious about the other pair of star crossed lovers and was going to turn to another page until he felt himself get dragged.
"Bye Soraru." Mafu said, an embarrassed blush on his face, as the redhead put the book down.
Sakata waved at the raven-haired goodbye as they left his room and then his house. Soraru waved back and went to get the book.
"Why do you still even have it? It's boring."
"Don't say that when you were looking curiously at it. Or was it just because Sakata was reading it?"
Soraru smirked as he saw the brunette blushed. Urata grabbed a pillow and threw it at the raven-haired, missing him completely as Soraru continued to laugh.
"O-Oi!"
Soraru put the book back to where it was. He snickered to himself as he remembered the albino's embarrassed red face. The raven-haired went back downstairs, Urata following behind, as they continued playing their games. The raven-haired was kinda hoping that tomorrow wouldn't come, he didn't want to feel a stab in his heart. Oh well, we'll see how tomorrow ends.
