CHAPTER 01

It was night, and I was on our bed, sitting and resting against the headboard. I wore a maroon dress, and my hair was completely down. I was reading one of my favorite books by Sophie McKenzie-Close My Eyes, while waiting for my husband. Our kids were on their individual private rooms. My daughter, Lisa, sleep as early as seven, while River, our son, is still awake at seven for he makes a short review of their school's lesson and my tutorials.

I'm a full-time mom, and I do even work at home as an online English tutor. At kahit araw-araw akong nasa bahay, I feel bored sometimes lalo na kapag sa moment na ako lang ang mag-isa, but I never stop doing the things I love. I do zumba, yoga, and pilates as my weekly exercises. I never forget to take care of myself, even though I'm married and have two kids already. Still, I want to look good and feel better.

I get my phone and touch the screen, there are no calls or texts from my husband, and every time he does these, mas lalo akong nag-aalala. I went to my contacts and looked for his number. His sweet name appeared. I looked at it for a moment before I pressed the call sign. He got an answer after ringing twice.

"Yes, hon?" Bakas sa tono nito ang pagkawalang gana. And maybe he's tired nor unfeeling well.

"I cooked your favorite dish." He said nothing. "I miss you."

"Yeah, see you later." He heaved a sigh and ended our conversation. I feel a little pain from his voice. I don't know why.

I placed my phone back on the mattress, closed my book, and stood up. I silently went out of the room and secretly checked my kids' rooms. River was on his study table, writing something. I ignored myself to disturb him. I left him in peace and began to walk again, heading to my daughter's room. She sleeps soundly. I watched her for a moment before leaving. I went downstairs, striding to the kitchen to get something to drink.

Opening the fridge, just water and beer side by side. I doubt I will pick the beer, but I want to have it. I need it. I took a bottle of it and opened the lid, then quickly gulped.

A moment later, the main door opened. He's here. Holding my lower lip, I was momentarily dazed as I stared at the table.

"Hon?" I was startled when I saw him entering the kitchen.

"Good evening," I said, and gave him a sweet smile.

"You drank." His eyes gazed on me, and I'm afraid of the way he furiously looked at me. He opens the fridge and gets the empty bottle and puts it down in the trash. I lowered my head.

"Something wrong?"

"Hon, I'm asking you." I lifted my head, meeting his gaze. I sigh inwardly.

"I'm sorry. I'm . . . I'm just tired and . . . I just want to try to drink again. Will you be angry with me?"

He suppressed a smirk.

I gently held his arms. "I'm sorry." Para akong nakonsensiya sa aking ginawang balak.

"It's not really okay." He stroked my face. "And never to do this again. Please." I smile, pretending that I'm really fine.

"Why don't you change your clothes first? I will prepare your dinner." I pulled away from him and I did what needed to be done. Alam kong pagod siya, and as his wife, kailangan kong gawin ang mga responsibilidad ko at isa na roon ang hainan siya ng masarap na pagkain. Since before, marunong na akong magluto. And unlike before, mas pinag-aralan ko ang pagluluto ngayon na mag-asawa na kami at may sarili ng pamilya.

"What's for dinner?" He barely came close to me.

"Your favorite dish, sinigang na hipon."

On my back, his hands run around me, kissing me on my neck and biting it a little.

"Go upstairs and change your clothes now," I insisted and faced him. He smiled as he stared at me. I raised my brows, asking him what.

"I will first eat my favorite dish, and secondly, my main dish." Napalunok ako sa kaniyang sinabi. His eyes want to bury me alive, and he winks at me.

Rain is my man, my favorite bed fucker.

"So get ready." He sat on the chair, placing his food on the dining table and began to eat. I got him a cold drink and walked towards him, pulling a chair and sitting next to him. Pinagmasdan ko siya habang kumakain. He was serious this time.

"How's your work?" I broke the simple silence.

"I had an appointment at Y.M Corporation earlier with Jordan Guevara."

"How was your appointment with him?"

"So far, so good. We just talked regarding business rules and the upcoming meetings. Many to mention, but it's all part of the job." He turned to me. "How about your class?"

"Did our kids sleep already?"

You know, nag-aaral pa siya maging sa gabi.

"Yeah, and aside from that, he's been doing his craft-drawing." I smile, trying to make him feel better. His face turned into affection.

"At kumusta ka naman?" At kahit papaano, kinukumusta niya ako.

"I'm always fine. How about you?" He drank his water and pushed aside the plates, looking at me. He came even closer to me.

"I always miss my wife."

"How much do you miss me?" I said, smiling.

"I miss you everyday."

"I do as well, Rain." He traced his finger to my cheek, down to my neck and chest. That intimate touch is all I want from him. I got his hand and gently removed it.

"Can I touch you this night?"

"Let's see."

I force my mouth not to smile, but I can't help it. I shiver at the way he flirts with me.

I was about to open our bed's door when I remembered River.

I quietly looked at his room, checking him. Maayos na ang kaniyang study table at mahimbing na natutulog while tucking in his blanket. He forgot to turn off his light, so I switched it off and gently closed the door. I checked my daughter's room, and similar to his brother, she slept quietly and gently. I went back to our room.

He kissed me on my lips. I rounded my arms around his neck as we walked through. We fell onto the bed. He's finally on my top. I smiled and looked at him intently.

"Goddamn, Rain." Napahinto siya at sandaling kumunot ang noo.

"Shhh. Don't bother me," reklamo niya at muli akong hinalikan. This time, mas naging agresibo siya sa kaniyang paghalik.

"I miss you, hon, more than a lot." My voice turns into a whisper. His lips graze my neck and chest, and it goes down even more.

Our kisses fell into something we both desired. The best moments are spent together on the same bed as a husband and wife.
