Chapter 6

The days that led up to Thursday were a PAIN.

Of course, Wooyoung and Hendery both heard the story of their baking day and that's all they could speak of.

Wooyoung teased Shotaro for hours on end and Hendery insisted that Sungchan had acted like an alpha werewolf wanting to mate.

There were times when Wooyoung would come to visit from his section of the garden─ an area completely shadowed and cold due to him being a Winter Fairy─ and he'd press himself against Shotaro's back with a squeaky, 'Thanks' as Hendery watched from a distance and guffawed boisterously.

Sungchan would pretend he didn't see and by the time the Elf and Fairy were to go for their walk, it’d take them a couple minutes to recover from their daily embarrassment.

Then, the big day came. The two travelled to the neighbouring town on a two-person bicycle Sungchan owned after his brother left it at his house. Shotaro on the front seat and slowly, Sungchan felt himself falling into the trance he had on Sunday. Sungchan had insisted on going in the front due to it being easier for a bigger person to control but with the pleading eyes the Fairy gave him, he couldn’t resist and took the back seat and now he suffered.

The intoxicating smell surrounded him due to the blowing wind and on more than occasion he had to hold himself tight before he did something stupid like bite the Fairy’s neck.

His wings would occasionally blow gentle glitter as they rode and that's when Sungchan would snap into reality.

Because the glitter would make him want to sneeze.

Luckily, the Osaki household came into view and they both sighed in relief.

Sungchan because he wouldn’t be going feral on a bicycle and Shotaro because his legs were tired. He was used to hovering at work nearly all day and walking with Sungchan but not overusing his legs as he had done with the stupid bicycle.

"SHOTARO! MY FAVOURITE COUSIN!" A male yelled and before anyone could react, the Fairy was aggressively hugged and swooped into the air before being violently dropped.

"Yuta!" Shotaro screeched, glitter bursting out as he held onto Sungchan for balance.

"Oh my god. A new crush for me!" Yuta yelled, a Cheshire-like grin on his face as he waltzed up to the Elf. "An Elf. Hot."

"Hi. I'm not available," Sungchan awkwardly muttered, a hard smile on his face as Yuta inched closer.

"Of course not. You're with me."

"No. I'm really not."

"Yes you ar-"

"YUTA!"

Said male let out a groan as he turned around with a bright smile to face a pretty male.

"Don't worry babe! I'm just teasing!" Yuta explained, skipping to the individual and hugging him.

"That’s Sicheng," Shotaro whispered, his insides suddenly feeling sad that Sungchan wasn't available. "He's Yuta's husband and he's in line for the throne after San, Wooyoung's boyfriend."

Sungchan looked in awe, unable to believe that such an amazing person like Sicheng was in Shotaro's family.

"Will he ever be King? Prince San is next and I assume they're in a close age range."

"I think so. San doesn’t wanna be King anyway. He says he prefers being a Prince with an easy life so he's giving the honours to his cousin."

Sungchan nodded his understanding, allowing himself to be dragged to the house as Yuta and Sicheng stood on the yard in a hug─ initiated mostly by the Japanese Fairy.

The inside of the home was warm and welcoming, Mrs Osaki immediately hugging her son and the Elf at the same time as several children stood around watching the giant curiously.

"What a nice new scent!" Mrs Osaki exclaimed, sniffing Shotaro's neck.

"Thanks. I started using it on Sunday."

Oh. That's when Sungchan realized that that was the explanation for never having realized the scent before.

"Oh? What's it called?"

"Love spell," Shotaro replied happily, stretching his neck as if the scent would burst forth and intoxicate all those around.

"Victoria's Secret?"

A nod of the head was given and a silence lasting a second too long followed and that was when the Elf remembered he had to introduce himself to the children at least for he already knew Mrs Osaki.

"Hello, I’m Sungchan," he greeted, several little children surrounding him closer as he smiled down at them.

"I’M UDO MUSASHI!" One greeted.

Suddenly a ton of children were yelling their names, sprinkling glitter in uncontrollable amounts and tackling Sungchan as if they’d always known him.

"So this is what Shotaro meant," Sungchan thought mournfully.

No one stopped to help and Shotaro snickered to himself as he left his favourite Elf to fend for himself.

Boy would that be a painfully long night.

The hours rolled by, Shotaro chatted with his aunts and uncles around the table─ occasional teasing about the Elf─ Yuta and Sicheng seated on a corner listening and then, Sungchan appeared with a suspicious mark on his arm that looked like a bite, glitter caked in his hair, and a cute ponytail on the top of his head.

Like more than he cared to admit, Shotaro wondered how a forehead could look so pretty.

"Welcome back," his Spring Fairy giggled, pulling a chair and setting it beside him.

"We were waiting until you came so we could eat. I’m sure you're famished."

"Yeah, I could eat him right about now," Yuta mumbled, a light slap landing on his arm from his husband due to the innuendo.

Everyone ignored him as they usually did, instead setting everything as they began eating and laughing and drinking. It was going well. One minute they were screaming at one of the aunts as she chugged a cup of rum and the next, Shotaro was beginning to droop, landing on Sungchan with a stupid smile.

"You're pretty," Shotaro stared, cheeks red from liquor but voice clear. “I love your forehead.”

"Than-"

The one word wasn't even able to leave the Elf's mouth before the intoxicating smell hit his nostrils and he breathed in deeply, his nearly fully drunk state just going right off the edge.

Slowly, he leaned down and stuck his nose in the crook of the Fairy's neck. Oh how he loved that new scent.

"You smell heavenly," Sungchan whispered, his voice deepening in lust and longing.

"You've said that before!" Shotaro giggled, turning his head at an angle as their noses brushed.

"I'll say it again and again until you're sick of it if you want me to."

"I'll never be sick of you," Shotaro muttered, unaware of the eyes of all of his family members.

"Should we stop the-"

"No, leave them," Yuta interrupted, much too eager to get black mail or at least enough drama. "I needa see how far they go."

Horrible really but Yuta just wanted an excuse to tease his cousin.

They expected the giggles and the hungry looks in their glazed eyes, they waited for the deep breath from Shotaro when Sungchan leaned down and nudged his cheek with his nose but, they did not expect the sudden begging whimper from Shotaro before lips landed on his.

"OH MY GOD! THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" Yuta shrieked, his husband sighing.

Sungchan didn't know what overcame him but it seemed so right. His hand gripped Shotaro's hair and pulled him in, the Fairy’s wings spasming in excitement and satisfaction.

Their lips warm on each other and their mouths filled with alcohol residue.

This isn't what they expected from a boring Thursday night.

Shotaro didn't even know what he was doing but he sure as hell knew that it felt nice. Their lips molded together as one as he fought to keep up.

Boy if he weren't feeling like a magnet on the damn chairs, he was sure as hell that he'd have climbed into the Elf's lap ages ago.

Then he remembered through a foggy and scrambled brain.

Sungchan had said earlier that he wasn't available.

That'd be considered cheating. Wouldn't it?

With a harsh pull, Shotaro pulled away with a loud pant.

"Don't! You have someone!"

"What? No?" Sungchan said, puzzled.

"You said earlier? You told Yuta, remember?"

"I lied."

"I KNEW IT!" Yuta screeched.

Shotaro shook his head. He wouldn't believe it. He couldn't. Sungchan was too good to be single anyways and he should've known from before.

Quietly, he got up and headed to his childhood bedroom, awkwardness now hanging in the dining room where Sungchn sat dumbfounded. He really didn't know anyone anyway.

And that was when Shotaro had committed the act of the great evil.

Ignorance.
