2: New Neighbors

**What I think Lana's new house looks like^^**

Drew's POV:

"Drew!  Come down hear and eat your breakfast.  You too Kayla!"  Mom hollers from the bottom of the stair case.

I turn to see that it is only 9:30.  Why the hell is she calling us down this early on a Sunday morning, usually there is another hour before we have to come down for breakfast on Sundays.

Sighing, I get up out of my dark blue bed and throw on some cloths.  Then I head down stairs, bumping into my twin sister Kayla.

"Hey sis nice outfit" I smirk.  She is even less of a morning person than I am, and you can see that by what she is wearing right now, which is a sequin shirt with a medium skirt she didn't even bother to take off her pajama pants!

"Right back at ya bro!" she grumbles heading towards the stairs.  I look down and chuckle, I have some jeans on with a shirt that says "My sister is awesome!" a shirt that Kayla got me last charismas as a joke... I think, but I swore that I would never wear them.  Ugh!  Whatever, it's not like I would ever wear it out of the house.  "Touché" I mumble coming right up behind her entering the kitchen and sitting down at the breakfast nook.  As I sit down both Kayla and I start sniffing the air smelling two of the best things in the world...bacon and chocolate!

"Mmmmm What smells soooo good?

My mom chuckles "That would be the bacon and hash that I made" she says putting down our breakfast "and the brownies that I made for our new neighbors"

"New neighbors!  Since when did we get neighbors?" We both exclaimed in our weird twin way.  Although mine was said with confusion and curiosity since there isn't much that is new or changes in our town.  While Kayla said it with pure excitement, she is always looking to make friends and be super nice to everybody.

"Well if you guys would wake up a little more you would have heard the moving trucks next door" She says rolling her eyes.  "Now I want you both to go over with me after breakfast and have you presentable, to welcome them to the town."

After breakfast I put on a blue button up shirt and get rid of my bed head styling my hair so that it looks effortless, and head down stairs to put on my converse shoes.

I meet Kayla and mom outside not even bothering to wait for dad because I know that he is already at work at the police station as police chief.  As we head out of our driveway and into theirs I start to get a little excited.  Kayla goes up and rings the bell, all of us putting on warn smiles.

The door opens up to a nice looking lady with brown hair and warm hazel eyes that look like they take in every detail for a living.  She smiles and says "Hi, may I help you?"

"Hi, we live just next door and just wanted to welcome you to our little town of Letum.  We also brought homemade brownies." My mom greeted with at smile.

"Oh, thank you!  My husband is out at his new job but my daughter is here, just give me a second to call her down." she turns away and hollers " Lana come down to meet some of our neighbors, they even have some kids your age!" and then to us "oh!  Where are my manners?  Please come in and have a seat!"

Just then "Okay mom, just a sec I'll be right there!" calls a voice from somewhere in the house, then we hear someone on the stairs coming down.

"Hi, I'm Lana as you have probably gathered" a girl or I guess Lana says with a friendly smile.  She is pretty with long brown hair and sparkling green eyes that seem like they hold a lot of knowledge and takes everything in.

My sister squeals "Eeek!  It is so nice to meet you!  We hardly ever get anyone new around here!  My name is Kayla and this guy here is my twin brother Drew.  We are 17, how 'bout you?" she says in an overwhelming rush.

"Oh it is nice to meet you!  I'm also 17!" Lana says.

"That's great! We can be besties!" my sister squeals. 

We leave the moms to do their chatting in the living room while we go up stairs to what I am guessing is Lana's rom.  "Soooo... what is there to do in this town?  So far I haven't seen much" Lana asks. 

"Well we can show you around and give you a tour of the town later but I could give you the overview and some highlights" my sister suggests "So there is a movie theater, a library some shops downtown, a café which is one of the hubs of the town, a park, grocery store, preschool, elementary school, middle school, and high school, senior center, arcade, bookstore another hangout spot, garden center, town hall, and a big part of Letum the pomegranate fields.  every year we have a big festival when the pomegranates are ripe and the whole town participates, it's lots of fun!" Kala rambles. 

Looking at Lana I can see that she is trying to take in the load that my sister just threw at her.  "Don't worry about it now the town is so small you will probably know the place like the back of your hand, so don't sweat it" I say trying to re assure her.

"Oh, thanks!" she says with a bright smile.  "Hey I have got two questions for you guys." "Ok, shoot we say at the same time.  Ugh!  we do that all the time, it can get annoying!  "Ok, well one: Can I get your numbers since so far you two are my only friends here and two: do you guys think that you could maybe help me set up a party so that I could meet more people or friends?  Like a house warming arty?" she asks shyly.

"First off of course we will exchange contact info! How else will I contact my best friend without being a stalker and coming to her house every time I want to talk!  And second of course again!  What kind of friends would we me if we didn't?  Right Drew?" "Yah, and you could join our friend group too."

"Kay!  Now that that is out of the way time to get serous." she says pausing and looking a us in the eye "Do you want to play 20 questions and meet my cats?" We all burst out laughing, and so that is how we spent the rest of our time there, playing 20 questions and meeting her three cats: Midnight, Delilah, and Buddy.

Going home I had a feeling that Lana was just the beginning, and our little quiet town of  Letum wasn't going t be quiet for long.

Ok so what did you think of this longer chapter?

Personally I think that it started out great and ended meh but hey that's just what I think
