de·pres·sion
/dəˈpreSH(ə)n/: a mental condition characterized by feelings of severe despondency and dejection, typically also with feelings of inadequacy and guilt, often accompanied by lack of energy and disturbance of appetite and sleep.

"There's this really cute girl that I like, and I think she lives close to the house we'll relocate!" Suigetsu whispered as he, Karin, Juugo, and yourself sat by the dining room table, eating berries for dinner. "She has pink hair and the prettiest eyes!!"

Juugo gasped as he put more berries in his mouth. "Suigetsu, no....I think that was Sasuke's ex-girlfriend."

"No!!" Karin's tone quickly turned agitated, causing your attention to leave the almost empty hideout and return to the conversation happening in front of you. "Sasuke-kun told me that the pink-haired girl was some crazy fan girl of his! NOT HIS GIRLFRIEND!"

"It's been years since he last saw her. I bet she doesn't even like him anymore." Your words seemed to relax Karin. "Plus, he's already with you."

"Do you think that I have a chance to fall in love....and be loved back?" Juugo's attention turned to you, desperately wanting your reassurance.

"Of course, Juugo." You quickly assured him. Ever since Kimimaro's death, Juugo has become isolated, and you and Suigetsu have struggled to get him out of his shell.

"Thank god." Juugo seemed relieved. "There's this cute girl I saw back in the village. Hopefully I can make a good impression, when we move to Konoha."

"It's kind of late and I am tired. I'm going to go to sleep." You told them and walked to your room.

Once in the darkness of your bedroom, you silently sobbed as you heard your team hope for a good future in Konoha, yet your heart ached. They were in love with life and hoping to find eternal love in the new village while you were mourning the breakup with a man you thought you knew.

"Y/N, please don't be sad anymore." The masked man made it a habit to appear uninvited in your bedroom, three days after your last conversation with him. He would lay on top of you, hugging you, and your tears would cease. Not because his coming to you brought you happiness, but because you didn't want to cry in front of a stranger.
The masked man was your first love, but ever since he confessed his real plan and the promise he made to his first love, Rin, all the love you felt for him suddenly disappeared. And although you thought that such feelings disappearing would give you a sense of freedom, it actually brought you emptiness. And soon you were sinking into an unending sea of depression.

"I'm not sad, Obito." You would smile at him as you cupped his fully revealed face gently. Despite his pleads for forgiveness and reconciliation three days after disclosing the infinite Tsukuyomi plan to you, revealing his face and revealing his true identity, things would never be the same after everything he said to you about his promise to Rin.

"I brought you this." He had made it a habit to gift you a rose whenever he went to see you, which became every night.

"Wow." You would say this every time you took the rose in your hand and placed it on your bedside. "This is the prettiest rose I've ever seen. Thank you."
Your comment would always make him smile, but he couldn't help but look around your room, looking for dandelions. The thought of Kakashi, or any other man, daring to attempt to start a romantic relationship with you drove him insane. It made him lose sleep, and his only comfort was going to see you to confirm that you still loved him and only him. He didn't want to lose you.

His eye would wander the dark room, and a sense of relief would fill him whenever he saw no dandelions in sight. Little did he know that Kakashi did not leave you dandelions for you to find anymore. The copycat ninja had moved to the second phase, which included physically attempting to initiate conversation with you and invite you and Taka for lunch whenever he visited Sasuke, which became frequent.

And without Obito's knowledge, you accepted his old comrade's soft and careful advances. Not because you were a cheater, but because nothing could ever be the same with Obito again. Being with the Uchiha made you feel sad and alone. Like if all your previous relationship with him had been a lie and you were barely getting to know him.

"I can't wait to start a life with you in the land of snow." Obito's ungloved hands stroked your arms as he impatiently waited for you to say anything. Ever since he decided to abandon the infinite Tsukuyomi plan, he wanted to immediately start a life with you, and he found himself constantly searching for comfort and reassurance in you. Because if he lost you too he would have no reason to live. But your silence and distant attitude were killing him slowly. "Are you listening, y/n?"

"Of course." You quickly assured him as you ran your fingers through his hair, but your eyes couldn't help but look at your bedroom's ceiling once again. Your mind kept repeating the conversation you had with Kakashi earlier that day.
Sasuke's sensei had visited earlier that day and invited Taka to a restaurant located in Konoha. The members and yourself agreed to the invitation, as it would serve as an opportunity to explore the village that would soon be their home. However, Kakashi was really interested in you and initiated a conversation with you. You were always polite with him, as he had done a lot for Taka, but you couldn't help but avoid any romantic advances. Not because you found the copycat Ninja unattractive, but because you felt so heartbroken and hurt. Obito was a liar, and although whatever he had with Rin happened years ago, you couldn't help but feel as if he cheated on you. You should probably leave the Uchiha, Karin had urged you to, and none of Team Taka trusted him anymore.

With every passing night, the idea of leaving him became more accepting than to stay with him. Specially after noticing how frantic, even desperate, Obito's attempts to fix things were.

"Obito, I think we should end things." His body on top of you stiffened.

"No, please don't." He made loud pleads that ranged from pleading with you to accusing you. "Did you meet someone else?!"

You were convinced that Obito's loud tone would cause your team to hear him in your bedroom and come to your rescue. In any other situation in the past, before knowing his real identity and initial intention with Team Taka, his loud voice would cause you to quickly try to quiet him down so that no one would hear. However, now, after everything, you were convinced that maybe your team stepping in would be for the best.

Suigetsu and Karin quickly rushed inside your bedroom. Your name frantically in their lips, but stopping on their tracks, as they saw the now masked man cornering you in your own bedroom. He was lucky that Sasuke was in Konoha, a long way from the hideout, to defend them. Neither of the team Taka members in the house stood a chance against Obito's sharingan, with the exception of Sasuke.

"You'll realize the mistake you're making." Now that the other members were in your bedroom, Obito seemed to composed himself, not wanting them to see his emotional side. However his attention, his tone, his resentment were directed towards you. "You need me."

You paused for a moment, snapping a mental picture of the situation. When you first started dating the masked man, never did you think you would see him in such a distraught state. Never did you think that his voice would direct such anger towards you. If anything, he was the one who lied to you and your friends. He was the one who threw everything away the moment it began, due to his lying and manipulation. "Please. I'll die without you." You tried to sympathize with him. Remember what you had in the beginning. A part of you believed that you'll run to his arms, like you always did, after every argument that he created in the past.

You didn't. You couldn't sympathize with a stranger.

"I believe that it's you who needs me." Your words quiet him. He left, but not before walking towards you and assuring you that you needed him, that you loved him, and that as long as he was alive he would always look for you and find you, no matter where you went.

Neither you nor Karin or Suigetsu dared you to tell him anything about leaving. He left in silence.

You thought ending things with that masked stranger would make you feel better.
But it didn't. It made you feel worse.
