Taehyungs P.O.V

For a split moment, Taehyung considered hopping on a plane and going to this dinner. He really did miss all of his hyungs. He dreamt of their times together often and unbeknownst to him—there were many nights where Bogum would wake up to Tae's tears as he apologized to his members. One of them in particular.. but Bogum never pestered his husband about the dreams. Even though he wanted to see them, Taehyung was too scared. Afterall it's his fault they separated. He was selfish, unable to control his own emotions so he just ran away, like a coward.

FLASHBACK Okinowa Beach Japan 2019

"Hey Kookie, what do you think about love?"

"What? What do you mean V hyung?"

Jungkook and V were lying down on the beach after getting Ramen.. about to head back to their hotel where their hyungs were surely waiting for them.

"I dunno, have you ever felt it? We've been doing this whole idol thing since we were kids..I just wonder if we ever miss out on the simpler things sometimes." Tae started blushing as he looked up at the boy who's lap he was resting his head on. "Meh, forget I asked. Just silly thoughts. I must be watching too many movies." V nervously laughs as he sits up and begins dusting the sand off of his pants.

"Well, we should probably head back don't you think?"

Jungkook is confused and wants to know what's on V's mind.. but he also knows better than to dig for information that V isn't wanting to share.

"Yeah, I guess we should."

END FLASHBACK

A damn coward. That's what I've always been. Feeling a sudden burst of confidence, he decides to reply to Jimin, for the first time, in four years.

Proud of himself for responding to a text, his heart stopped whenever he saw his phone lighting up for a face-time with none other than Park Jimin. Well, can't back away now can I?

Taehyung reluctantly picks up the call, praying that a certain maknae wasn't nearby.

"H-hello" he stutters

"OH MY GOD IT'S REALLY YOU. YOONGI THOUGHT IT WAS SOMEONE PRANKING ME. KIM TAEHYUNG IS LIVE ON MY PHONE RIGHT NOW AND HE HAS BLONDE HAIR. HOLY FUCK TAE!" Jimin starts tearing up immediately once he sees his best friend for the first time in four years.. even if it's only on the phone

"Yah! My ears Jiminie!" Tae giggles happily to see that Jimin hasn't lost any of his energy "and its Park Taehyung now.. you goof." Tae shows off a bright boxy smile to which he notices a slight frown on Jimin's face

"I couldn't believe it when you texted me back. I've sent you so many messages and emails over the years. Where the hell have you been?" Jimin's face went from excited, to sad, to disappointed, to happy to sad again. All in a matter of a couple minutes.

Tae nervously begins to ruffle his hair. Unsure of how to talk and not wanting to go into details on the phone. "I just was in a bad place back then and I really needed my space. By the time I was okay again, I-I was too scared to talk to anyone. I'm so sorry Jimin." Unable to prevent the tears from falling he hears a deep laugh from the background.

"Hey you little shithead! You could've at least sent a post card or something. Hell we weren't even invited to your wedding?! I should kick your ass for that reason alone."

Tae can't help but smile at the grumpy hyung who has now taken over Jimin's phone

"Yoongi-hyung. It's so good to see you."

"Yah! Save that for when we finally see you in person. I'll buy your flight, come to Seoul tonight Taehyung. It's been long enough."

Suddenly flustered and not knowing what to say. Tae just ends the call. Immediately wrapping his arms around his knees and bursting to tears.

I'm still a coward.

Jimin's P.O.V

"YOONGI WHAT THE HELL. WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT. TAE FINALLY REACHES OUT AND YOU PUSH HIM AWAY AGAIN. DAMN YOU YOONGI YOU SHOULD'VE STAYED IN THE DAMN LIVING ROOM."

Jimin is furious whenever he hears the call disconnect. Unable to stop his own tears while screaming at Yoongi, who quickly embraces him into a hug.

"I'm sorry Jimin.. I didn't know he'd react that way. Fuck I just wanna see the damn kid. I'm about to fly out to Japan myself. This is ridiculous. He's our family, he shouldn't be scared to see us." His own voice cracking, remembering how happy they all were at one point in time.

FLASHBACK-6 years ago, Shizuoka dressing room

"Guys, huddle up." Namjoon yells throughout the dressing room.

All seven guys quickly running up, it was their last concert before they had a couple months off.

"Let's go out there as if this is our last show of our lives, right?" Hoseok shouts

"Even if it's the last show of our lives, we'll be together always. So let's get it!!" Taehyung happily screams while smiling his biggest boxy grin with crescent shaped eyes. Causing all of his band-mates to laugh at his sudden outburst

End Flashback

What the fuck happened to that Tae?  Yoongi is frustrated but calms down whenever he looks to see Jimin smiling at him. "What? I thought you were made at me?"

"I am but I just remembered that you can be soft sometimes. Especially when it comes to Taehyungie." Jimin chuckled. Placing a soft kiss on Yoongi's cheek. "I think going to Japan isn't such a bad idea...what do you think the guys will say?"

Jungkook's P.O.V

It was almost noon, Jungkook was hurrying to the florist shop to meet his fiancé whenever his phone started ringing.

"Jimin-ah, what's up? I'm about to meet Lisa."

"Kookie, what's the likelihood that you could take a quick trip to Japan this weekend?"

"What?! Why would we go to Japan, I'm not sure I'd have to talk to Lisa."

"Just wondering, there's a certain Bangtan member who I may have spoke with this morning. Yoongi and I got the wild idea of visiting him." Jimin didn't have to say the name for Jungkook to know who he was referencing.

Flashback-5 years ago

"Mmm, I can't wait until we go back to Japan." Tae mumbles as he is cuddled up to his best friend on the couch

"Yeah, Japan is one of my favorite places."

"Would you ever consider living there, Kookie?" avoiding eye contact as to not give away what he was insinuating

"Hmm, I'm not sure. I think so! I mean it isn't that far from here, travel wise so it wouldn't be impossible to visit home"

"Would you consider l-living there with me?" Tae knew he was being bold but he's been holding his thoughts back long enough

"What?" Jungkook is shocked by the question but isn't against the idea. He actually hasn't ever thought about a time where he and Tae wouldn't live together anymore. They've shared a room since they were teenagers.

"It was s-stupid, forget I asked." Tae stutters as he goes to get up from the couch. When he feels a strong hand grab his wrist pulling him back

"Taetae, I'd love to live in Japan with you! Besides, you can't move without me, who else is gonna play Overwatch with me all night?" Jungkook smiles at his best friend with a warm feeling in his heart. He knows that he loves Tae, he just doesn't realize in what way.

End Flashback

"T-taehyung? Is in J-japan? You spoke with him?"

"Chill it on the questions, Kook. We'll talk at dinner tonight. Give your fiancé a hug for me!" Jimin giggled hanging up the phone.

Oh right, for a millisecond Jungkook forgot that he was standing outside a florist. About to pick arrangements for his wedding.. to Lisa.. if only I wasn't such a coward. Maybe it would've been me that you married.

Snapped out of his thoughts whenever he feels a delicate hand grabbing his shoulder and taking him into a hug.

"What's wrong Kookie, you look like you've seen a ghost?" Lisa says quietly while placing a soft peck on Jungkook's lips.

"N-nothing's wrong, just remembered some stuff from a long time ago. That's all" He gives her a warm bunny smile "Ready to pick out some flowers?"

Lisa just smiles and nods.

Taehyung P.O.V

Tae fell asleep curled into a ball on the floor. Whenever Bogum walked through the door and saw his husband on the floor with tear-stained cheeks, he couldn't help but notice the phone next to his face. He picks it up, wondering why his husband was so upset. Then he see's the text from Jimin and sighs. Please don't leave me.

You see Bogum isn't stupid. Though Tae never talks about the Bangtan chapter of his life, everyone knew about Tae and Jungkook's relationship. Most of the other groups had running bets going on when they would finally announce being in a relationship, but it never happened. Bogum had always had a crush on Tae but backed off for a long time as to not step on Jungkook's toes.

No matter where they were, he always found Tae clinging to Jungkook like a magnet. He was so envious of the muscular maknae that had all of Tae's attention. So you can only imagine his excitement whenever he ran into Taehyung in Japan of all places a year after their disbandment.

It didn't take long for Tae and Bogum to begin a relationship. It went pretty naturally for them, they were great friends before so it just worked out even better in a relationship. However, he'd be lying if he said he didn't cringe every time he saw a comment on social media referencing Taekook. It seemed that no matter how many years passed, not everyone could forget the bond shared between the two boys. Neither could Bogum. So whenever he saw the message from Jimin his heart broke a little. He was terrified that if Tae ever went back to Bangtan that he would lose him as quickly as he gained him.

"Bogumie?" Tae grumbled through foggy eyes whenever he saw his husband kneeled on the floor next to him staring at his phone

"Taetae, I was so worried about you. Are you alright?" Bogum quickly pulls his husband into his lap. Embracing him in a warm hug, he felt relieved whenever Tae hugged him back.

"M'fine.. I talked to Jimin on the phone today. It was a little overwhelming, that's all"

"Wanna go get Ramen?" Bogum smiled shyly at his husband

"That sounds great!" Tae excitedly jumped up so he could get ready.
