Saving and Fighting
Slappy quickly looked up at my grandpa, his eyebrows narrowed. My grandpa nodded to him, and the puppet nodded back.
Snappy jumped, and then fell, his stomach sliding against the carpet.
I looked at my feet and examined the carpet. It did not seem slippery. The carpet seemed to be made out of wool, like it was weaved together, not silk.
But I should not have been concerned about that. I should have been concerned about my baby sister - and I was. Both concerned and horrified.
I glanced back up, and Snappy had just slid under the falling rock. I wanted to look away, but I hoped that my grandpa and the brothers would save her.
Snappy got on his own wooden feet and shut his eyes tightly. He raised his arms and opened his hands, his fingers breaking away from the palms and uncoiling. He spread his legs, and the rock came down on him.
And then it stopped. The rock stopped falling.
I breathed heavily through my nose, seeing that the boulder had landed on the puppet's palms. He placed his loose fingers on the rock and grunted.
"G-get over here, b-brother," Snappy ordered Slappy. "Unchain her. H-hurry."
Slappy reacted immediately and teleported to him and the baby. He bent down next to Tamara and tugged on the chain, trying to set her free.
Byron let out a growl and hurried to Slappy, his arms outstretched and his big hands in gripping positions.
My grandpa noticed and made a move.
He chased Byron and grabbed his left wrist. "Sorry to go against you," he said. "But you are a trader to my granddaughters and all of Horrorland." He then, letting go of the wrist, gave him a punch, a hard punch, in the chest.
The Horror cried out and fell. Thud! went his green body as his back hit the floor.
My grandpa smirked, almost giving away a creepy smile.
Almost.
"See? My son was wrong. I am not old."
The Menace brushed back a strand of black hair and walked up to my grandpa. "We will see about that," he said, positioning himself for a fight. He put a hand behind his back and whipped out something. Something that I could see, but my grandpa could not, for the Menace was hiding it from him.
A knife. A sharp knife.
"Mmm!" I wanted to scream. To say a word. To warn my grandpa. However, with the tape that covered my mouth, the only thing that I could say out loud was "Mmm!," and it was no help at all. It was not enough.
My grandpa raised his fists. "I will take you down, like I did all those years ago," he warned. "And where is that friend of yours? The other head?"
The Menace straightened his body, looming over him. "I got rid of him," he answered in a low tone. "He was being obnoxious, so I burned him." He gripped my grandpa's white shirt. "And I will get rid of you, your creations, and most importantly..." He whispered in his ear. "...the birthday girl."
He clenched his teeth, and I noticed that he was missing a couple of teeth. "No!" He grabbed ahold of the Menace, and the two fought.
"I hope that Grandpa will not get stabbed," I said to myself, praying for a better outcome. "Not on my birthday."
Meanwhile, Slappy was still helping Tamara, and Snappy was still holding up the boulder.
"What is taking you so long?!" Snappy snapped. He was getting tired of holding the rock. He desperately needed to drop it. Not on him though. On the ground.
"Sorry, sorry," Slappy quickly apologized as he scooped up Tamara and pulled on the chain. "I am having problems with the chain."
Snappy growled at him and got down on his knees, continuing to hold the rock in place. "We have magic, idiot! Use your darn magic to break the chain!"
Slappy glared at his brother. "If I use my magic, then this will take twice as long!"
"Not if you use the proper technique!"
"What proper technique?!"
Finally, Snappy had enough.
"Ugh! That is it! I am sick of holding this stupid rock! The Menace is even a sick person for trying to crush a baby with a rock!" He straightened his legs and pushed, launching the boulder out of his grasps and making it fly across the room. Though, it did not come close to being thrown across.
Because it landed on the ground.
And it crushed somebody, killing the person instantly. And I teared up.
But who?
