Flashback freshman year of high school

Hailey is sitting in the guidance counselor office

'You can't just throw things at people' The guidance counselor says

'Why not?' Hailey asks, The guidance counselor sighs

'We're not going to get anywhere with you, are we?' The guidance counselor says

'So why are you wasting both of our times then' Hailey say

'Well you don't have to deal with me anymore but you will have to deal with her' The guidance counselor says

They look behind Hailey, and Hailey turns around and sees a pretty blonded girl standing there and Hailey's heartbeat starts beating fast she looks back at the guidance counselor

'So you're pairing with her' Hailey says

'Her name is Hannah and yes we are she's going to be your school buddy and you will opened up to her, trust me she's a great listener and talker too, she has helped a lot of people open up about anything' The guidance counselor says

'Can you give us a minute please?' Hailey asks

'Sure' The guidance says, they get up and leaves

'You have done this kind of thing before?' Hailey asks

She looks at Hannah and gets up, and walks up to Hannah

'Yes multiple times and they have opened up to me and became friends with all of them' Hannah says

'Just so you know ahead of time that it's going to be while until I can trust you and open up to you' Hailey says

'Well just so you know I want you to take your time of opening up to me at your own pace not by how the school wants you to, that's how I do things in this program' Hannah says

'Ok well then how is this going to work out?' Hailey asks

'Well whenever you want to open up to me about anything we don't have to talk here at school because you know too many ears but we can either at your house or my house or any where that you feel safe at' Hannah says

'How come just standing here talking to you that I'm starting to like you a little bit' Hailey says, Hannah smiles

'That's because I'm not forcing you to open up about anything and we are just talking like two normal people, well a shy girl and a girl who has a lot of anger issues, so not that normal' Hannah says

'Wow calling me out already, ok I see how it now' Hailey says, they both chuckles

'Sorry that was a low blow to you' Hannah says

'It's fine, you are right about me having anger issues and who knows maybe, just maybe once I do open up to you eventually I'll probably be less angry then I was before' Hailey says

'I can't go into full details about the other people but what you just said is what does usually happen, they are angry then they will give me the chance to be there for them and they let them vent then usually they become a little bit happier' Hannah says

'Let's give this new 'friendship' a test run for a year and if I don't open up to you by then, then we know it wasn't meant to be' Hailey says

'Alright deal' Hannah says, they exchange numbers and leaves together

Hannah and Kayla are walking down a busy hallway

'So how are things going between you and Hailey?' Kayla asks

'I think the more that I opened to her the more courage she has wanted to open up to me' Hannah says

'She still hasn't opened up to you yet?' Kayla asks

'Not yet but I think I'm starting to gain her trust a little bit which is good start' Hannah says

'Well speaking of the devil there she is waiting for you' Kayla says

Hailey is standing at the end of the hallway on her phone

'I'll see you later' Kayla says

'See you later' Hannah says, they hug and Kayla leaves

As Hannah walks up towards Hailey a fight breaks out between two guys

'Oh the good old days' Hailey says

'Ok don't get any ideas, you're one fight away from getting kicked out of school' Hannah says

'Well then you can spend more time with your girlfriend' Hailey says, teasing Hannah

'What are you talking about?' Hannah asks

'The girl that you always hug goodbye everyday' Hailey says

'Oh Kayla, she's just a friend and we are both straight' Hannah says

'I know that you guys are straight I was just teasing you like you do with me sometimes' Hailey says

'Anyway how has your morning been?' Hannah asks, Hailey looks at her

'Boring, yours?' Hailey asks

'Well I had to hide Damian's vape in my bra on the bus' Hannah says

'Do you still have on you?' Hailey asks

'No, I give it back to him after we got off the bus' Hannah says

'Good' Hailey says

'Why are you worried about me getting into trouble?' Hannah asks, Hailey looks at her

'Yes I am actually because I know a lot of girls who don't get into trouble at all at school and when they do something like you just did this morning they get caught and suspended then their family moves away' Hailey says

'Oh, well then I don't do that again' Hannah says, Hailey looks at her

'You better not' Hailey says, then the bell rings

'Come on first period is going to start soon' Hannah says

'Fine' Hailey says, groaning, they head to first period
