I ushered Kevin in the house and dropped his stuff by the door to the basement on our way to the kitchen to get some rocky road ice cream. Its not my favorite but i can eat it. I got out a big spoon and stuck it in the tub of ice cream. He smiled and took it gladly, doing that sniff-hiccup thing.

"What happened?" I asked after a few minutes.

Kevin continued to eat as if he didnt hear me, but I know he did. I decided to wait until he got ready to tell me. he offered me a bite of ice cream and I took it.

"It's over," He muttered.

"Over? With you and Dani?" I asked, needing a better answer. Okay so maybe I was a little nosy, but he was my best friend and my secret crush.

He nodded. I wanted to do a happy dance and thank God for this gift he has bestowed me with, but I think I'd be going to far. I was mentaly punching the air though.

"Sorry," I told him, placing my hand on his shoulder in support.

He turned to me and leaned his head on my chest and started to cry. There wasnt much I could do but sit there and comfort him. After Kevin stopped crying, which was about an hour, we went into the living room and watched a movie. I had no idea what it was called, but I spent the most of the afternoon hiding my face into Kevin's chest, while he just chuckled.

At least he was feeling better.

After the movie, we just sat there. "She threw me out last night." Kevin said.

I looked to him. "Why?"

He shrugged in a weird, im-not-telling sort of way. I knew that meant he was embarrassed by what went on. I'd get it out of him soon, but I wasnt very patient. I wanted answers now. I figured I'd have to wait to get a good answer though.

"Can I stay here a few weeks?" He mummbled.

"Of course. You can stay as long as you like, you know that." I told him.

I knew that I'd have to have a wall up around him from now on or I'd spill my feelings. I wanted Kevin here, I just hoped that I was a good liar to him than I was when we were kids because I couldn't keep any secret from him. I remember I got him a necklace one year and had to dodge his questions for three weeks prior to his birthday becuase he wanted to know what I got him.

He almos tfigured it out though. If Joe hadnt' interfeered. Joe still holds that on me to this day. He's used that for a few dates out of me just to make another girl jealous. It never worked.

"Thanks," He said. There was something different about the way he was acting towards me, but I couldnt put my finger on it.
