Dr Kozak and Ezekiel were talking and laughing for an awful and lengthy amount of time, the conversation ending when Agent Ezekiel told Dr Kozak that he had to leave because he wanted to go back to the party again.
"Have fun," Dr Kozak whispered to him as soon as he was about to open the door.
Agent Ezekiel just stared at Dr Kozak but didn't actually go anywhere yet. Instead he was just standing there, half smiling, half frowning.
"Ezekiel..." Dr Kozak trailed off, who stopped marking tests and looked at him.
Ezekiel frowned, turning to face him.
"Yeah?" He told him, blinking at him continuous times.
"Are you okay...?"
Ezekiel didn't say anything, just stared outside of Dr Kozak's laboratory but didn't reply straight away.
"It's just. I can't leave without you. This party is going to be so different without you around, Demetrius. Demetrius I'll feel so guilty leaving you. And different in a bad way, of course."
Dr Kozak smiled, showing his cute teeth, but was still looking frustrated as ever, also looking like he seriously needed to sleep.
"Don't worry about me. Honestly. Just leave, Ezekiel."
Ezekiel shook his head.
"But then I'll start to feel really guilty, like I said...." He told Dr Kozak solemnly, literally not taking his eyes off of Dr Kozak's.
"Oh. And by the way..."
Dr Kozak just looked at him confusingly, wondering what was going to proceed that sentence.
"By the way what?"
Agent Ezekiel said it. He had asked Dr Kozak what had happened to his sister because everyone was frantically looking for her but they couldn't find her anywhere.
Dr Kozak kept on denying and hiding the fact that he had just killed her, such as making up excuses like she left and never came back because she went to bed, she had to attend to a meeting and that she just was genuinely no longer in the mood for partying anymore.
Unfortunately, Ezekiel had noticed that Dr Kozak kept on changing answers each time, so couldn't help but become suspicious each time.
"Demetrius..."
Dr Kozak stopped talking and hyperventilated at Ezekiel.
"Are you lying about where your sister is?"
Dr Kozak didn't say anything, just stared at him non stop, before fixing his eyes back on the test of justice again.
"No... Why would I be lying?"
"A) You keep changing answers when I ask you where she is B) You're acting really strangely and C) Your voice gets really high pitched when you're lying. I know you."
Dr Kozak didn't say anything. He forgot. Ezekiel could basically see right through him.
"Fine. You caught me."
"I knew it. So what happened to agent Valentina then?"
Dr Kozak remained silent for a while, going back into retrospect and thinking about the past, such as putting her in that Danger Of Death room.
"Er... I can't say."
Slightly annoyed, Ezekiel completely shut the door forcefully, locking Kozak's laboratory, then came up really close to Dr Kozak's face.
"Why not?"
Silence.
Should Dr Kozak have told Ezekiel that he had killed his sister?
They never kept anything away from each other, and this wasn't going to be the first.
Dr Kozak also didn't want to tell Ezekiel that his sister Valentina was dead in case he would freak out and tell everybody else.
Although Ezekiel wasn't like that.
He was loyal.
He was trustworthy.
He was a very genuine person, always been there for Kozak whenever the dude needed him.
And he had also never really let Dr Kozak down.
"Well. It all depends really. Can you keep a secret?"
Agent Ezekiel just scowled at him in return.
"Demetrius, you know I can keep a secret, so why would you even ask me that?"
Dr Kozak didn't say anything, he just ended up avoiding the question completely.
"Okay. Fine. I'll tell you what happened to Valentina."
He used a hand gesture to indicate for Ezekiel to come closer so that he could whisper something to him, and when he did that, Dr Kozak whispered the three words he was dreading to him.
"I killed her."
Firstly agent Ezekiel freaked out, then stared at Kozak half cholerically, then smiled afterwards, for some reason.
"You killed her? High five."
Dr Kozak laughed then high fived Ezekiel's hand.
"Wait. Why are you happy that I killed her?"
"We all hated her, man! Like Professor Florentine. Thank God you killed him. Everyone loves you, Demetrius."
Dr Kozak smiled and laughed again but then stopped for a minute, dropping his pencil and looked at Ezekiel, completely traumatised.
"Wait. Hang on. Everyone loves me? Wait. Did you tell anyone that I killed Professor Florentine? You promised me not to!"
Ezekiel just scanned Kozak up and down, not saying anything, even though Dr Kozak was looking quite annoyingly at him.
"Oh. Wait. No. Sorry. I didn't say that right. My bad. And no. I didn't tell anyone."
Dr Kozak lost it.
"I bet you're lying, Ezekiel!"
Ezekiel lost it as well.
"Lying? Dude, I didn't tell anyone. Honestly! I would never break a promise!"
Dr Kozak shot Ezekiel half a death glare, but then remembered what his sister Valentina had told him before she died.
Dude. Professor Florentine is dead. We all hated him. No one knows how he died except Ezekiel who won't tell anyone.
Dr Kozak smiled and hugged him.
"Sorry. Was just paranoid there."
"....Which is exactly the reason on why you need to sleep! Look at you Demetrius! You look frustrated."
Dr Kozak just shrugged, promising (and possibly lying to) Ezekiel that he would sleep later on today, then they talked about Valentina for a while.
"So you really killed your sister?"
Dr Kozak rolled his eyes at him.
"No, Ezekiel, I killed my coat hanger's best friend's dog's cousin's neighbour's wife. Yes, I killed my sister!"
Ezekiel also rolled his eyes, in a comical way though, not sarcastically like Dr Kozak had just done.
"Jeez. You didn't have to get so sarcastic about it, Demetrius. I was just asking you a yes or no question."
Dr Kozak didn't know what to say. He was actually half sleeping himself but woke himself up once he had realised this.
Once again, Dr Kozak and Ezekiel were talking and laughing for a while, until Agent Ezekiel left.
After about two seconds of leaving the laboratory, Ezekiel then came back again to hug Dr Kozak, telling him that he was the bestest friend in the world and that no one or nothing could change that, ever.
Dr Kozak was once again, working in the laboratory by himself, not actually minding the party music, when all of a sudden someone knocked on the door once again.
"Ezekiel, is that you?"
"No...." The voice replied back. "I'm pretty sure we're related."
Except this voice was coming from a female this time, not a man.
Dr Kozak knew who it was (his daughter) but wasn't entirely sure, so to double check, he went on his CCTV camera to the front of his laboratory door, rolled his eyes, and then spoke into the microphone.
"Arista what do you want?" He asked her, sounding really agitated all of a sudden.
Mainly because she destroyed his "precious" gun and he was still annoyed at her.
"Hey dad." Arista echoed back, looking at him from the CCTV camera that Dr Kozak was malignantly staring at her with. "Maybe if you just let me inside, then maybe we can talk and sort this out-"
"No!" Dr Kozak told her, slamming the microphone on the table. "I am done with you! You are not my daughter anymore. Go away!"
Arista didn't listen to him though. She just stood there.
"Fine then. I'll just sing a song until you let me inside."
The thing was, Arista was an amazing singer. Honestly. So Dr Kozak couldn't really shout at her for singing even if he really or desperately wanted to. And he did. He really did. But he couldn't, even his daughter's singing voice mesmerised him.
You used to be.
Thirsty for me.
But now you wanna be set free.
If this is the web.
The web that you weave.
So baby now
Rest in peace.
Soon, he got so jealously fed up, that he opened the door of his laboratory and dragged his daughter in, before locking the door instantaneously on her.
"What do you want? Didn't I tell you that I don't want to speak to you ever again?"
Arista nodded, finding somewhere to sit down, her father just annoyingly watching her in return.
"Why are you here, Arista? I hate you."
Arista scoffed.
"For destroying your gun? Please, I think I've made you a better person."
She was smiling at him, Dr Kozak just standing up and shooting her a really really really convincing death glare, but Arista stopped smiling when she noticed the stare that her father was currently giving her.
"I really came here to apologise," she added, where Dr Kozak just shook his head, not saying anything else.
"Apologise?" He repeated, folding his arms and still looking at his daughter annoyingly.
Arista nodded really steadily but didn't say anything else.
"For what?"
Arista stared at him confusingly.
"For destroying your gun?... I think we've already established this? Anyway can you forgive me, father who I love so much?"
Arista was making a puppy face at him, Dr Kozak not buying it.
"You want me to forgive you?"
"Yes! I want you to forgive me!"
Dr Kozak just stared at her blankly, not saying anything else.
"Hmm... Let me think about it."
Arista smiled.
"No! Now go away Arista, for flip sake!"

Moral of chapter: Not forgiving someone is almost as bad as not feeling remorse (meaning regret) for something wrong you have done to someone.
