Chapter 80- Do It Like A Brother, Do It Like A Dude
Inspirational quote: Everyone wants happiness. No one wants pain. But you can't have a rainbow. Without a little rain.
Had to completely rewrite this chapter because it had just clashed with everything... the comments you see before are the older version of this chapter, not the newer one.

Kieran was annoyed.
Highly freaking irritated.
Why?
Because he needed Dr Kozak, but Dr Kozak couldn't help him.
At all.
In fact, Esperanza needed Kozak as well, not just Kieran alone. Doing things without him was a lot harder than both of them thought it would be.
And the strangest thing was that Kieran didn't even like Dr Kozak that much.
He was annoying...
He was rude...
He favoured Esperanza because he had known her longer... and that really wasn't fair towards Kieran.
They were completely lost now.
But the word lost was an understatement.
They had absolutely no idea where they were.
"Esperanza, we've really messed up," Kieran told her. "I'm trying to figure out where we are on our GPS locator, but it doesn't seem to know where we are."
They weren't allowed to use phones during the mission, although they could have used a holographic watch to communicate with Dr Kozak if they needed help with anything.
And they needed help with something.
A lot of things.
Everything.
Luckily they had a GPS locator on them, which could have told them where they had gone to and how far away both of them were from DIE ANNA INCORPORATED.
Although it must have messed up somewhere because now they were lost.
Actually, the way they needed to take was kind of dangerous, so they had taken an alternative route instead, which was even more dangerous.
"We actually need Dr Kozak so badly," Esperanza complained. "We're lost without him, Kieran."
"I know but we've got to do things without him sometimes, like solving out where we are and how to get to DIE ANNA INCORPORATED."
Esperanza wanted to give up though.
They were hopeless, and it was both of their fault.
Well, actually Kieran's, for getting them lost in the first place.
But also Esperanza's for agreeing to follow him to take them to the alternative route which had gotten them lost.
Kieran had just stared at her blankly as she had sat down on the grassy field right in front of her. He wanted to say something to her but then he had stifled if after a car went past, blasting some shockingly inspirational music.
I can do it like a brother
Do it like a dude
Grab my crotch, wear my hat low like you
Do it like a brother
Do it like a dude
Grab my crotch, wear my hat low like you
We can do it like the man'dem, man'dem
We can do it like the man'dem,
Sugar sugar sugar
We can do it like the man'dem, man'dem
We can do it like the man'dem,
Sugar sugar sugar
That's it! Kieran thought to himself. That car just gave us the answer.
"Esperanza."
She didn't say anything.
"Esperanza, listen."
She stared at him in the eyes intently, Kieran doing the same thing with her.
"Esperanza, we can't give up now. You heard what the car said: do it like a brother, do it like a dude."
Esperanza didn't know what that had meant though.
She knew the song, and so did Kieran, it was by Jessie J... but she just didn't understand why it was so important.
"What's so important about those lyrics?"
But Kieran didn't really tell her anything: he had just repeated the same thing to her unhelpfully, as if that was supposed to solve anything.
It didn't.
It really didn't.
"It means we should do it like a brother and do it like a dude," Kieran told her, shaking her to and fro like she was an addictive rattling toy or something.
Esperanza didn't say anything... except from telling Kieran that he had lowkey just repeated himself, but that was it really.
Nothing more than that.
Then Kieran had explained to her what everything had meant once and for all.
It just basically meant that they shouldn't have given up, especially now.
Kieran and Esperanza were probably extremely close to DIE ANNA INCORPORATED, but they just didn't realise it yet.
"Come on, Esperanza," Kieran soothed. "Be happy. It's your birthday. Usually I'd be annoyed at you, but I kinda figured that that wouldn't take us anywhere so here we are."
Esperanza sighed.
Things just didn't feel right without Dr Kozak there with them.
Well, yeah, Dr Kozak couldn't have always been there for them as he had his own life to deal with... but still.
Reluctantly, Esperanza had whispered all right to Kieran, where they had figured out their own way themselves and how to get there.
"Why can't we just take the same way we had taken before, but in reverse order?" Esperanza pointed out. "If we remember the way, that is."
That was the issue.
They didn't remember the way.
Well, Kieran didn't.
He wasn't extremely sure about Esperanza.
Esperanza had remembered the way, but not the whole way, which was actually a lot more helpful than Kieran not remembering the way at all, so he really shouldn't have complained.
But he couldn't stop doing it anyway.
The GPS had luckily figured out their location now, and it had told them that they were on a road called Hartslock Avenue.
Hartslock Avenue was just a few seconds away from DIE ANNA INCORPORATED, but none of them had remembered that yet.
"Awesome." Esperanza cheered. "We know where we are... the only issue is how do we get to DIE ANNA INCORPORATED now?"
Kieran shrugged to himself.
This was as far as the route Esperanza knew to DIE ANNA INCORPORATED until she had completely forgotten the way.
Kieran had tried using the GPS to type DIE ANNA INCORPORATED down, but it wasn't there for some unknown reason.
He kept thinking why this might have been the case to himself, then he had remembered something that Dr Kozak had told him.
Well, he hadn't exactly remembered it word for word, but it was something along the lines of him being able to control who could have seen KOZAHKISTAN HEADQUARTERS from the inside and who couldn't.
Diana Valentine couldn't do this, but she could have probably hidden her location from Google Maps so that people wouldn't have been able to see it.
Spy headquarters were supposed to be hidden anyway. Dr Kozak had told him that this whole thing was illegal anyway, right after he had killed Lauriel.
And he probably wasn't referring to KOZAHKISTAN HEADQUARTERS alone... he was probably referring to DIE ANNA INCORPORATED as well.
"I think I remember the way," Kieran admitted truthfully. "Follow me."
And doing that, Esperanza had followed Kieran right into some sort of dark forest which Esperanza seriously didn't remember taking before.
It didn't help much that they were doing their mission at nighttime.
If they had done this in the morning, then they would have most likely been able to see things, but they couldn't do that at the moment due to the dark lighting.
Well, it was morning, it was past midnight. But it wasn't past sunrise yet- sunrise was way too far away right now, and that was what had kind of ticked Kieran and Esperanza off.
Both of them had used a torchlight to get through the forest, but as mentioned before, this place didn't seem a hundred percent familiar to Esperanza.
Because it wasn't.
It really, really wasn't at all.
"I don't remember taking this place, Kieran," Esperanza fretted. "Are you sure that this is the right way?"
"Well, the way we actually did take is kinda blocked now for roadworks, so this is pretty much the only way we have."
Surprisingly, both Kieran and Esperanza were both at the end of the forest now, and even better:
A) they had done this completely without Dr Kozak's help
B) No one tried to stop them, but that was probably because everyone was sleeping. It was past four in the morning after all.
And C) They didn't get lost in the forest at all. They just went straight ahead, prayed and God showed them the way.
The path of righteousness.
"Give me a leg up, Esperanza."
"Why can't you give me a leg up?" She argued.
Kieran didn't say anything though.
Unless rolling his eyes had counted as a response perhaps?
For goodness sake, they didn't have time for this. They were working on a tight schedule here. Kieran seemed to remember this but Esperanza didn't, and this was slowly starting to tick Kieran off in ways he couldn't explain.
"'Cause last time I gave you a leg up, and I had to help myself up. Now it's time for you to do that yourself."
Listening to him, Esperanza slowly kneeled down with one leg on the floor, with Kieran stepping on her and jumping over her.
She groaned in the process because she felt as though Kieran was hurting her on purpose... and he was.
He just didn't say anything about it.
After that, Esperanza had given herself a leg up afterwards... but she really didn't. She had just climbed up the fence.
When she had asked Kieran why he couldn't have just gone up the fence himself instead of Esperanza having to give him a leg up, he whispered where was the fun in that, plus Esperanza kind of "owed" him for him giving her a leg up earlier.
Plus psssssh.
Kieran was way too short to climb up the fence himself. He might have been fifteen, but he wasn't the tallest fifteen year old in the world, because he wasn't.
"DIE ANNA INCORPORATED is right there, Esperanza, right there," Kieran explained, after they had crossed the fence. "We just need to cross the road to get there."
Hearing that, Esperanza had listened to him, and when Kieran realised what she was about to do, he stopped her by squeezing her hand tightly.
The road in front of them was massive, nearly the size of the road Esperanza got hit by a car on.
Speaking of that, Kieran reminded her of that, telling her that they needed to stay together like Dr Kozak had told them in order for them to cross the road safely.
So they did that, and they were now right opposite DIE ANNA INCORPORATED.
Kind of.
It was an immense black gate leading there, and they had to solve a riddle to solve it.
"Seriously?" Kieran said angrily. "A riddle? You've got to be kidding me."
