Chapter 73- The Date

Inspirational quote: Dear haters, if you want to be two faced, at least make one of the faces look pretty.

There was silence in Dr Kozak's laboratory for a very very long time, at least after he had finished talking to both Kieran and a very unwell Esperanza via the computer.

In the meantime, his daughter was getting her clone ready for the date, when all of a sudden she left the room in which she was getting her clone ready for the date to call Dr Kozak's name really loudly.

"Dad!" She shouted at him. "Dr Kozak!"

Dr Kozak spun his blue spinning chair round to see her, all pumped up and ready to show her clone to him.

"Yeah?" He asked her, using a straw and a plastic polystyrene cup to drink tea.

"My clone is ready for the date! Would you like to see her?"

Dr Kozak slightly rolled his eyes at his daughter, not saying anything, well except questioning Arista if this whole thing was optional.

"No! It's not optional!" Arista hissed back, bringing out her clone from Dr Kozak's dressing room.

"Then why would you ask me to see her if it's not optional? Doesn't make any sense to me. God you're so confusing sometimes Arista."

Although Arista didn't reply, because just then she brought her clone out and, damn.

She.
Looked.
Absolutely.
Gorgeous!

Arista had made it so that her clone was wearing a purple princess dress, a really really pulchritudinous purple princess dress that was very glittery.

To match the dress, Arista had literally dyed her clone's hair purple, given her massive purple hoop earrings, a purple tiara and purple flat shoes.

Basically, everything she was wearing was purple, except her princess gloves, which were razzmatazz. She didn't have purple gloves, especially princess gloves, and no one she knew did either. Her hair was in a bun as well.

With a purple bow tie hair band, surprise surprise. Her make up was purple too, except the mascara of course.

"Jesus. It's just a date, it's not prom, Arista!" Dr Kozak reminded her, absolutely astonished by what she had done to her clone though.

"I know it's just a date, but Septimus told me that he likes fancy things. Plus he's wearing a purple tuxedo so... Anyway. What do you think?"

Dr Kozak looked at her then at her clone again, then at the real Arista.

"She looks really nice, but you went a bit too far with the make up. Nevertheless she looks er.. What's the word? Beautiful."

Agent Arista (the real one, not the clone) didn't say anything, although as she was about to say something, Sarica kind of did it for her.

"Whoa! Who's that fine looking teenager staring at me over there?"

Dr Kozak looked around in confusion as to who could have possibly said that, and realising that only one 'person' could have said that, he shrieked in surprise.

"What? My computer? You're still here?"

"Haha. Yep. I never left. I was just taking a quick nap."

Dr Kozak just blinked at his computer in serious confusion.

"Anyway. You look amazing in purple," Sarica babbled on, making agent Arista's clone smile. "Where are you going? A homecoming?"

"A date, actually," Agent Arista's clone corrected her, rolling down her razzmatazz princess gloves.

No one replied as Agent Arista checked her phone to receive a message from agent Ezekiel's son Septimus.

Septimus: Er... Did you say to meet you at your dad's laboratory? Because that's where I am. Like. Right in front of it.

Arista typed something back and smiled, telling her clone that Septimus was there, walking away at the same time, so that Septimus wouldn't become confused as to why there were two Aristas.

As her clone was about to go and leave, Kieran accidentally sort of noticed her, and was completely mesmerised by what she was wearing the whole time.

"Oh my god. Who is that?" He asked Dr Kozak through the screen.

"That, Kieran, is agent Arista's clone. She has a date tonight with agent Ezekiel's son."

Dr Kozak still hadn't told either Kieran or Esperanza at all that Arista was his daughter.

Well, Esperanza knew. She had known Dr Kozak for centuries. But not Kieran.

He was going to do it 'when the time was right' and now was definitely not that time.

"You look, amazing. Septimus will love you. Have fun," he told her, making Arista smile even more as she headed outside to open the door.

And there was Septimus, and just like the real Arista predicted, wearing a purple tuxedo.

"Is today like wear purple day or something because most of my purple clothes don't look good on me. And everything looks good on me." Dr Kozak asked them, half jealously.

Agent Arista grinned whilst Septimus smiled as Arista escorted him fully.

"Wow. Arista. I'm amazed. You look... Astonishing."

"And you look horr- uh... Amazing too."

Dr Kozak did a face palm where Septimus just looked at her confusingly, raising an eyebrow at her.

"Were you just about to say horrible?"

"Yeah. Kinda. It's just, your hair's a bit..." She made some crazy hand gestures with her hands where Septimus nodded and agreed.

"What happened to your hair?"

"Oh. I got... Uhm," Septimus started, running a hand through his hair and looking everywhere except at Arista's face.

"Electric shocked by an electric eel," he finished.

"Why....?"

"I was at KOZAHKISTAN AQUARIUM just now getting you a present, and I kind of sort of accidentally touched an eel which shocked me."

For some reason, Arista found that completely mesmerising where Dr Kozak just rolled his eyes at her and said nothing else.

"Anyway. Your present. I got you three actually, and I hope you like all of them."

Septimus reached out for something in his bag, which were all from the aquarium, sort of blushing and giving them to Arista's clone, which obviously he didn't know was a clone of Arista.

Arista cried once again, which Dr Kozak kind of got worried about because when a clone cried from his clone machine, they'd usually be destroyed but fortunately that didn't seem to be the case for his daughter's clone.

"You got me a dolphin necklace with my name on it?!" She squealed, as Septimus tied the necklace round her neck, not saying anything.

"You also got me cute shark earrings and chocolate?!"

"Haven't finished yet," Septimus told her, bringing out something gargantuan from his bag where Arista's clone screamed.

"You bought me a baby dolphin and an axolotl?!"

Arista's clone had to hug Septimus after that because she was just too triumphant not too, squealing too much, although now she felt bad because she hadn't gotten him anything.

"I didn't get you a good present. I feel really bad now." She told him, frowning, where Septimus just smiled.

"Nah. Don't worry. Having you go on a date with me is a good present enough."

Arista smiled as she opened the door for her and Septimus to leave, which was where Dr Kozak sort of held her back.

"Excuse me, Septimus? Can I er, talk to my 'daughter' for a minute please?"

Septimus nodded which was when Dr Kozak silently commanded to Arista's clone to come back inside, and shut the laboratory door.

"Good luck," Dr Kozak whispered to her under his breath. "I wish you best of luck with Septimus. Oh and don't mess this up, I swear. His father is my bestest friend in the whole wide world and we've never ever ever gotten into an argument since we first met each other at primary school, and I don't want your date going bad to be the first argument we get into. It kind of... confuses me as to why you'd be going on a date at nearly four o'clock in the morning but then again, I don't really like to ask questions. Anyway, have fun, even if this isn't the real you, and don't go on a date with him, ask him for a cat, let him buy you a cat and dump him straight afterwards, because that's what you've been doing to many other people which isn't really a surprise as to why people barely go out with you. Understand?"

Arista nodded steadily, which was when her father patted her back and escorted her outside, with a patient Septimus waiting.

In the meantime, once Dr Kozak was a hundred percent certain that the two was gone and was out of earshot, he brought out his phone and texted Arista.

Dr Kozak: Okay, my beloved daughter! The coast is clear! You may come out now!

Arista replied straight away like she almost always did, no real surprise there much.

Arista: You sure?

Dr Kozak rolled his eyes in disbelief.

Dr Kozak: Gee, Arista, if I wasn't sure then would I be texting you right now to come out?

"You've got a good point, dad!"Agent Arista yelled back stepping down the stairs to get closer to her father. "So did I miss anything?"

Dr Kozak lied and shook his head.

"Hmmm... I'll tell you later. Anyway. I kinda need you to do me a favour."

Arista nodded.

"Sure... What is it?"

Dr Kozak stood up and tucked his chair in, switching his lab coat for his jacket, still frantically texting someone unknown.

"I have to go somewhere," he told her.

"Where?" Arista asked, taking Dr Kozak's place by sitting down on his spinning chair.

"It's private. About 50 people are going to be there though. I can't tell you."

"Then it's not really private then, is it?"

Dr Kozak kind of swore in Italian at her.

"I meant that I can't tell you where I'm going, because if someone finds out that I told you, I could die. I can't say where I'm going. End of story. I need to go. Supervise the laboratory for me while I'm away. Bye."

And without Arista really having the chance to say anything, her father left her.

Dr Kozak left his laboratory, still frantically texting someone unknown, simultaneously walking down the hallway, when suddenly, as soon as he put his phone away and continued walking, agent Ezekiel appeared right in his face.

"Demetrius! Demetrius, I have to talk to you about something!" He told Dr Kozak, hyperventilating, shaking Dr Kozak like he was an addictive rattling toy.

"Whoa. Way to get all up in my face, Ezekiel," he told him, half annoyed half not.

Ezekiel was perplexed so blinked at Dr Kozak once in return, staring at him, Dr Kozak doing the same thing.

"I'm confused."

Dr Kozak rolled his eyes in disbelief.

"I meant that you're standing way too close to me. Literally. Move back away from me."

So Agent Ezekiel did just that.

"Plus, shouldn't you be at work?" Dr Kozak had asked him, going the opposite direction to where Ezekiel was standing, Ezekiel just following him.

"No. I forgot, I got fired yesterday. Plus work is cancelled, the manager died."

Dr Kozak didn't say anything for a while.

"Oh. What a shame," he told him really sarcastically. "Who was it?"

"Diana Valentine's brother."

Dr Kozak stopped walking and almost dropped his phone, turning to face Agent Ezekiel instantaneously.

"You worked for Diana Valentine's brother this whole time?! Have you no shame?! Don't you realise that she's my arch nemesis, Ezekiel?!"

"I didn't know. Plus we only found out that he was Diana Valentine's brother the day before he died, anyway, aka yesterday."

Dr Kozak nodded in agreement.
"Fair enough. Anyway, what do you want?!"

"I have to talk to you in private about something!"

"Private? Can't it be done publicly?"

Ezekiel hollered at him next.

"No, Demetrius! I need your help. You're the boss of KOZAHKISTAN HEADQUARTERS!"

Dr Kozak shook his head.

"I'm really not..."

"Okay. Second boss. Just please, listen to me at least."

Dr Kozak rolled his eyes as he carried on walking, Ezekiel tugging at his right hand.

"Hey! Look. I know you're my best friend and all, but Ezekiel, I really have to go somewhere."

Ezekiel didn't reply.

In fact he was annoyed.

Highly freaking irritated.

So without warning Dr Kozak whatsoever, Ezekiel grabbed Dr Kozak's hand, taking him to somewhere confidential, silence filling both of them all the way.

Moral of chapter: Hear that? Dr Kozak has literally just admitted to Ezekiel that he's not the boss of KOZAHKISTAN HEADQUARTERS even though he invented the place! Some things about some characters can utterly surprise you.
