Kieran had watched Dr Kozak drive off in silence, and when Dr Kozak was fully gone that was when he finally turned and walked over to Esperanza.
Realising that he may or may not have forgotten his phone in Dr Kozak's car, Kieran looked all over his jacket pockets for it, eventually finding it.
He wanted to know if there was any possible or sure fire way that he could have possibly communicated with Dr Kozak during the mission in case something bad or terrible happened to either him and/or Esperanza.
He reached out for his phone, trying to communicate with Dr Kozak about a million times by calling him but it just went to voicemail each time.
On like the seventeenth time, Kieran just gave up completely as he called Dr Kozak again and it went straight to voicemail once again, much to Kieran's freaking irritation.
"Hey, this is Doctor Demetrius Kozahkistan, please leave a message after the-"
"Oh shut up Dr Kozak's voicemail," Kieran muttered to himself, purposely ending the call.
It was when Kieran had least expected it that his phone kind of vibrated in his bag, notifying him that he had just gotten a text message from Dr Kozak.
He read what Dr Kozak had sent him silently, in his head, and in absolute disbelief.
Dr Kozak: Kid, explain to me why you've decided to call me seventeen times? I literally just counted the amount of times your name came up on my phone.
Kieran was annoyed as he read Dr Kozak's message thinking of what the heck to type back.
Kieran: Because I did. Problem?
Dr Kozak replied straight away.
Dr Kozak: Uh.... What's gotten into you?
Kieran didn't reply, until another message sort of proceeded the other one that Dr Kozak had just sent him.
Dr Kozak: Oh and FYI kid, I'm driving. Therefore do not call me, okay?
Kieran was completely baffled as he quickly texted something back.
Kieran: So you will text and drive but you won't call and drive?
Dr Kozak: Traffic light's red. Plus I've lost my voice. So I can't really talk. It's become all croaky and squeaky and I kinda sound like I'm on helium now.
Kieran: Okay, well, is there any way whatsoever for me to communicate with you at all during this mission?
Dr Kozak read his message twice back in the car, but didn't reply.
Kieran: Er.. Hello?
Dr Kozak: Why do you want to communicate with me during the mission?
Kieran: Is that a trick question?
Dr Kozak: Kidding. We can voice message each other if you like. Just not call. Please. I don't have much phone credit left anyway.
Kieran: Why would you want me to voice message you if you literally told me just now that you've lost your voice?
Dr Kozak: I said that? Really?
Kieran: You're so confusing sometimes, you know.
Dr Kozak: Thanks.
Kieran: Not a compliment!
Dr Kozak didn't know what to say so therefore he didn't actually reply.
Kieran: Plus I don't have the Internet for voice messages, Dr Kozak.
Dr Kozak: For goodness sake.. Then I don't know kid. Hang on.. I gave you a watch just a few hours ago didn't I? At Costume Stimulator One? You can use that to communicate with me.
Kieran checked both of his wrists but no matter what happened, a watch wasn't in sight. Or maybe he just wasn't wearing it.
Dr Kozak: Kierrrannn....You alright?
Kieran: Yeah. Sorry, I was just looking for the watch. Found it. So how I am going to use the watch to communicate with you during this mission then?
Dr Kozak: It's holographic. You can do holographic chats and all that. Anyway, I have to go. Please hologram chat me if you need anything or something's wrong.
Kieran: Wait, Dr Kozak!
Dr Kozak: Can't talk kid, phone's dead.
Wasn't it always? Kieran thought.
Kieran: But-
Dr Kozak: My phone is literally one percent. I can't text. I'm so sorry. Talk to you later, Kieran. I desperately need to charge it.
End of conversation.
Kieran sighed helplessly to himself as he walked over to Esperanza, who was actually looking pretty nonchalant and not mad at Kieran for wasting both of their time.
Which was a lie...
"Hey, Esperanza," Kieran told her, sighing again, even though Anastasia was full on smiling at him. "Time for our first mission. I guess."
Quickly, Esperanza got up to her feet where both of them tried walking over to DIE ANNA INCORPORATED, but then stopped once they realised that there was a gargantuan fence blocking them.
With barbed wires.
Crud.
"Kieran, we can't get through, unless we go through that fence," Esperanza pointed out. "Give me a leg up, why don't you?"
She barely even let Kieran reply back before Kieran realised that one of Esperanza's legs (right) was on his palm.
"What? Why should I give you a leg up? Why can't it be the other way around?" Kieran retorted.
"Just give me one! It's my birthday!" Esperanza snapped, sitting halfway on the fence although it contained barbed wires. "Plus I'm already halfway there anyway so there's no point of you- whoa- whoa-"
Kieran had no idea what had happened next but he didn't see Esperanza anymore. She had completely fallen off the fence.
"Esperanza?"
No response, so Kieran had called her again.
"Esperanza!" Kieran hollered, looking through the transparent fence as Esperanza on the other side crashed completely unto the floor.
"Wait! How do I get there?"
"Just give yourself a leg up, somehow!" Esperanza wheezed from the other side of the fence, in serious pain, sounding like she was literally just about to die.
So Kieran listened to her, of course. He had somehow given himself a leg up, however did the same thing as Esperanza did.
Accidentally fell off the fence, but this time, instead of landing on the ground, landed completely on Esperanza.
Kieran helped himself up immediately as he landed there, rubbing the dust off of him and staring at Esperanza.
"Esperanza?" Kieran continuously shook her, although nothing happened. "For goodness sake. Esperanza!"
Esperanza didn't respond, or she just downright ignored him. Kieran couldn't tell, but after he shook her, slapped her face a few times, and considered performing CPR on her, but changed his mind, Kieran knew she was no longer alive.
Was this what Dr Kozak meant when he said that something bad was going to happen to Esperanza?
She was going to die?
And Kieran was going to be the reason for Esperanza's death?
"Crud!" Kieran yelled to no one in particular. "I think I killed Esperanza! I have to talk to Dr Kozak!"
And with saying that, Kieran got out his mini holographic watch, searching for Dr Kozak's name, not really knowing how the damn thing worked.
Meanwhile, Dr Kozak had just arrived back at KOZAHKISTAN HEADQUARTERS into his laboratory via his keys, really ticked off that his daughter had just disappeared on him, without telling anyone.
He dropped his groceries, just to scream her name for the whole of the United Kingdom to hear.
"Arista!!!" He echoed for the whole of the laboratory to hear. "Arista how dare you leave here without permission! Your father is so going to kill you when he next sees you!"
He tried looking for her everywhere although soon gave up once he couldn't find her at all. His only solution was to call her, where she picked up instantaneously.
"Hey dad!" Agent Arista kind of yelled through the phone.
"Don't 'hey dad' me!" Dr Kozak barked. "Where are you?!"
Agent Arista laughed at the other side of the phone.
"What's so funny?!" Dr Kozak bellowed, hearing his daughter burst into a laughing misfit at the other end of the phone.
"Turn around, dad. I'm right behind you. Literally."
Dr Kozak genuinely didn't believe her yet still looked around anyway and hey presto ! There she was.
Chances were, she was walking and talking to her father on the phone at the same time.
"Where were you? I was kind of low key worried about you," Dr Kozak whispered to her.
Agent Arista didn't reply, until another Agent Arista came into the scene, Dr Kozak looking at her confusingly.
"Explain to me why there's two of you!!" Dr Kozak told her, although once again, his daughter found herself not responding. "Why'd you clone yourself, Arista?"
"This, dad, is the second me. I used your clone machine to clone myself because I have a date tonight. Or today. Considering that it's like three o'clock in the morning."
Dr Kozak just blinked, and became kind of vexed at her when she said the word date.
"Really? Who are you going on a date with?" He asked her, drinking ice cream soda from the fridge behind him.
He had put it there the day before but hadn't drank anything until now. He wasn't hungry or thirsty back then, but boy, was he feeling the opposite way now.
"Agent Ezekiel's son," Agent Arista replied.
Dr Kozak did a spit take on his ice cream soda as soon as he heard that.
"Agent Ezekiel's son? Septimus?"
Dr Kozak's daughter nodded.
"Anyway. I was getting her ready for the date. What do you think, dad? Do you think that I can convince Septimus that that's me when it's really not?"
Dr Kozak didn't reply, just kind of scanned Arista's clone of herself a little bit.
Her clone gave him a Chinese burn.
" Just what do you think you're doing to me?"
Dr Kozak glanced at the clone horrifically, then at Arista in annoyance.
"She's a bit rude, isn't she?"
"Don't worry. I just set her up. Trust me, she'll be acting like me in no time."
Dr Kozak didn't reply, only making his daughter's clone Chinese burn him even more.
"Excuse me? I believe I asked you a question?"
Dr Kozak was absolutely petrified of her.
"I'm sorry. I won't touch you again?" He replied uncertainly.
"Yeah, imbecile, better think twice before you do that."
And as Arista's malevolent clone had said that, she pushed and threw Dr Kozak to the wall, only leaving the real Arista gasp at her in horror.
"You just nearly killed my dad!" She shouted at her clone, mainly watching her hurt father get up and walk away.
"Yeah well he ain't all that anyway." Her clone shouted back, and as she said that, Dr Kozak whispered something in his daughter's ear.
"Hello, may I talk to you privately for a second?" Dr Kozak whispered to Arista through gritted teeth.
Arista didn't even have time to reply, because as soon as Dr Kozak had said the word privately, he squeezed her hand forcefully and took her somewhere else.
"Arista! You've got to get rid of her! She's too hostile! Septimus will hate her!" He whispered to his daughter privately, although still in the same room.
"Dad! Chill. Everything will be fine. I promise!"
Dr Kozak just stared at her unconvinced, then at her clone again.
Big mistake.
"I'm sorry but who asked you to look at me?"
Dr Kozak looked away, back to his real daughter instantly.
"Yeah that's right," he heard her clone tell him. Then in the end she ended up saying the B word to him.
Dr Kozak lost it, dropping his ice cream soda and turning to face her, Arista pulling him away.
"Dad! What are you doing!"
"Arista, your clone is crazy! She just swore at me!"
Then proceeding what Dr Kozak had said was staring, until Dr Kozak somehow happened to let go of Arista and come up towards her so called clone.
"Okay. That's it. I don't care anymore. I've had enough."
And guess what?
So did Agent Arista's clone of herself.
" I agree, you're going down." She said back, removing something and handing them to Arista. "Arista, hold my earrings!"
Then after that was some sort of fight and argument between Dr Kozak and his daughter's clone.
"Oh no she didn't!"
"Oh yes she did! Oh yes she really did! Step right over and watch me put it down!"
Arista- the real one- just stood here, absolutely mortified on what was happening.
She soon stopped holding her clone's earrings, trying to break them apart, even though it had backfired completely.
"Guys! Dad! My clone! Stop fighting. Everything is changing. You're all acting strange."
Actually no wait, then I guess nothing has really changed much. Agent Arista thought to herself.
Dr Kozak and the clone had been fighting, until for some reason, the clone stopped.
Dr Kozak just came closer to her, waving a hand at her, before whispering something to his daughter.
"Er.. Is your clone okay?" He asked her, as his daughter's clone was just staring into space.
Arista just shrugged her shoulders in return, as her clone came up to both of them.
And, as though the fight never happened, Arista's clone of herself changed.
Because instead of being spiteful and sassy, she said something else which kind of traumatised Dr Kozak and Arista for life.
"Hi. I'm Arista. Nice to meet you."
Then she put her hand out for both of them to shake, and as she did that, Dr Kozak and Arista were just downright staring at each other in confusion.
Then they concurrently screamed, sort of making the whole of Dr Kozak's laboratory vibrate.
