Chapter 59- Late For The Mission

Fifteen time wasted minutes later and both Agent Arista and Dr Kozak were still at Dr Kozak's laboratory, Agent Arista practically screaming her head off because Dr Kozak had technically lied to her.

"Dad, I thought you said that Kieran and Esperanza would be here any minute now!" She groaned.

"Yeah, I know," he told her back, spinning around in his spinning chair and slurping on a slushy. "And I meant it."

"You said that fifteen minutes ago!" Agent Arista told him, shaking him and slapping him. "We're supposed to leave here at half eleven. We're running late, dad."

"Arista. Calm down, we can't be that late," Dr Kozak soothed, rolling his eyes and doing something unknown on the computer.

"It's eleven twenty nine, dad!"

"Okay. So we're late. Just be patient. I promise you, they'll both be here in less than two minutes."

And just as Dr Kozak had said that, abracadabra.... Kieran and Esperanza had reappeared once again, Esperanza with a much bigger ice pack on her head.

"There you guys are. What took you so long?" Dr Kozak asked both of them angrily.

Kieran lost it. Physically and mentally lost it. He came up closer to Dr Kozak, spinning him around on his spinning chair really fast, then stopped, and once he stopped, Dr Kozak caught Kieran looking at him in annoyance.

"I'm sorry but what did you expect? The first aid room was in room 510, this laboratory is room 20,000 and something, we didn't have a teleporter, and we got lost as well. Like I said- What did you expect?!"

Dr Kozak rolled his eyes once Kieran had said that, although said nothing else for a while.

"Okay. You have a point. Jeez. Calm down."

He said something again once Kieran had asked him who agent Arista was (without actually saying her name because he didn't know it), pointing to her.

"Oh. Her?" Dr Kozak asked Kieran, turning to face his daughter. "This is agent Arista. She's my dau- you know what? I'll tell you later. We seriously need to go. We're late for the mission."

Kieran didn't listen to him as he was deeply examining Agent Arista, presumably judging her, like he did when he first met Esperanza.

She basically looked like Dr Kozak (without the colour blindness glasses because she wasn't colour blind) and was wearing the same purple coloured leotard as Esperanza, except her hair was black with purple highlights, not just black, plus it was so long that it reached the end of her back.

But she was pretty. Kieran couldn't lie. Although Kieran didn't like her though, in that way, and he didn't anyway because he already had a girlfriend named Vanessa Sterling.

Agent Arista must have been doing the same thing as Kieran too, presumably judging him, because she wouldn't stop staring at him either.

Although she wasn't really frowning. She was half smiling, and was only brought back to realisation again once her father clicked his fingers in front of both Kieran and Arista's faces.

"You guys ...okay?" He asked both of them, turning to face Arista and then Kieran.

"Yeah..." Kieran lied, looking away from Arista as she headed off to the toilet.

That was when Dr Kozak pushed Kieran to the side when his daughter had left, shutting the door on him.

"Dude! You've gone insane."

"Kid. Listen, I don't want you to have any type of love affair with Agent Arista. Okay?"

Kieran just looked at Dr Kozak in the eyes confusingly, Dr Kozak doing the same thing, whilst grabbing both of Kieran's shoulders painfully.

"Dr Kozak, I have a girlfriend, I wasn't even thinking of having a relationship with Agent Arista whatsoever."

"Good. She's already had like 90 people break up with her and destroy her life in the past. I don't want you to be the 91st person." Dr Kozak then checked his watch, unlocking the door behind him. "Okay. We've got to go."

Kieran didn't say anything major as Dr Kozak and him had left KOZAHKISTAN HEADQUARTERS once and for all, although about two seconds away from the way out, Agent Arista somehow magically reappeared again, whispering something mainly to Dr Kozak, even though Kieran could hear what she had said.

"Dr Kozak, can I please stay here? I'm suddenly not in the mood to go with you guys to DIE ANNA INCORPORATED."

Dr Kozak nodded, reaching for something in his lab coat pocket.

"It's fine. I kinda needed someone to supervise this place whilst I was away anyway." After saying that, he threw his keys to his laboratory at her, Agent Arista catching it as soon as she saw it.

"Those are the keys, Arista. I swear, please don't lose them! You understand me?"

Agent Arista nodded, indicating that she understood, before she walked off by herself, Dr Kozak and Kieran in the meantime doing the same thing however in the opposite direction.

"Anyway. About Agent Arista. I haven't finished. Do not have any romantic relationship with her whatsoever. I mean it, Kieran."

Kieran was annoyed as he smacked Dr Kozak's hand out of the way.

"Are you trying to imply that I love her or something?! What part of I already have a girlfriend don't you understand?!"

They had left now, and both of them were making their way to Dr Kozak's 5-seater black Mercedes car.

"Good. And you must stay at least three feet away from her at all times."

Dr Kozak was seriously winding Kieran up at the moment.

"Fine by me. But that doesn't mean that we have to stay away three feet away from everyone?"

Dr Kozak froze and stopped walking, shooting Kieran a look that was halfway between a death glare and a smiley face.

"What's your answer?"

Dr Kozak's smiley face dropped instantaneously and just stared at Kieran virulently, which Kieran, once again, chose to completely ignore.

"Oh no, I'm less than three feet away from you. Am I invading your personal space?" Kieran teased, laughing his head off.

Dr Kozak wouldn't stop giving Kieran a filthy glance.

"Hurry up, then. Let's go. I thought to said that we are running late. Staying here will just make us even more late than we already kind of are. You don't want that, do you?"

That was when Dr Kozak viciously and violently grabbed Kieran's right arm, nearly making Kieran almost drop his phone.

"Kid, when I give you a dirty look, it means that I'm annoyed with you in one way or the other. Get used to it!" He ululated at Kieran, for everyone driving past on the road to hear him.

"And you wouldn't dare invade my personal space."

Kieran shook his head, not saying anything.

"Of course I won't invade your personal space," he bluffed, Dr Kozak letting go of him once he had heard that.

"Yet," Kieran added, where Dr Kozak did the same thing by twisting his right arm again.

"Okay! Okay, jeez," Kieran screeched, Dr Kozak punching him really hard as he kept pressing backspace on his phone.

Then neither of them had said anything else as they eventually met Esperanza standing right in front of Dr Kozak's car, somehow getting there way before either Dr Kozak or Kieran did.

"Now, Esperanza, are you absolutely sure that you're well enough to do this first mission?" Dr Kozak queried, driving and looking at a sick looking Esperanza through his rear view mirror.

They were now about twenty minutes away from KOZAHKISTAN HEADQUARTERS and thirty minutes away from DIE ANNA INCORPORATED, with a coughing and whooping Esperanza lying down on Kieran's right leg.

"I'm fine, Dr Kozak," she lied, through a song of coughs.

"I'm low key worried, Esperanza. You fainted unexpectedly and I couldn't catch you. Honestly. I can just turn back and-"

"Dr Kozak!" Esperanza hollered at him, literally making Dr Kozak's hair spike up because she had yelled that loudly.

"She's fine," Kieran hissed, placing his hand on her. "Stop fussing."

Dr Kozak rolled his eyes in disbelief but didn't say anything else as he was driving.

Unfortunately for all of them though, Dr Kozak's car suddenly skidded to a halt in the middle of a motorway.

"What just happened? What? Why did you just stop, sir?"

Dr Kozak looked around, trying to find a reason on why his car wouldn't move- he tried starting and restarting it a billion times but the same thing had happened throughout.

Nothing.

It then told all of them via Dr Kozak's "sat nav" that 'he was out of petrol and had to go to the nearest petrol station which was fifty minutes away'.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Dr Kozak shouted lividly to himself, continuously pressing his honk for no reason.

"We're already running late, now we're out of petrol... Could this night get any worse?"

Obviously, once someone had said that, things almost always did get worse, sooner or later.

"Wait, Hang on a second. Dr Kozak?" Kieran trailed off.

Dr Kozak just looked at him through his rear view mirror again, adjusting his colour blindness glasses although he didn't actually need them anymore as he wasn't colour blind as much as before in the past.

"Yeah, Kieran?"

"Do you have your teleporter on you? Maybe we could use that to help you get us to the nearest petrol station."

Dr Kozak nodded, then grinned, then frowned.

"Wait. Nope. Just realised. Too big to fit in this thing."

Kieran then rolled his eyes, heading outside for the boot, and then reached for Dr Kozak's teleporter at the back.

He made it bigger via the magic words which Dr Kozak told him that he couldn't tell anyone, and soon after, bam, they were at the nearest petrol station in no time.

Dr Kozak headed outside, giving both Kieran and Esperanza the I'm watching you signal before heading inside once and for all.

"I'm going in. I trust both of you. Do not leave the car under any circumstances, or open the door for anyone, unless you somehow happen to see Agent Ezekiel here because I trust him. You understand?"

Kieran and Esperanza nodded then looked away, Kieran placing his left hand on the window in boredom, Esperanza sleeping on Kieran once again.

And after they did that, Dr Kozak said and did nothing else, because he finally went inside.

"I'll be back in five minutes," he told them through the window of inside the petrol station.

Then he actually was off once and for all, and for real this time.

Moral of chapter: Before you drive long distances, or any distance at all (regardless of the length of it) check how much petrol you have, please. Please don't be careless like Dr Kozak. Haha.
