Kieran couldn't take this anymore.
He had had enough.
He had physically and mentally had enough.
If his dad didn't believe him on Katherine being a serial killer then that was fine. He just couldn't blame Kieran when he died.
Kieran's morning was off to a rather terrible start. Although it became better afterwards.
His "alarm" for the day was his stepmother banging on the doorstep, with some sort of knife in her hand, claiming that she was making a sandwich, but Kieran thought otherwise.
"Kieran!" She hollered out loud, then thought to herself 'the person I'm about to kill'. "Your alarm went off an hour ago! You're going to be late for school."
Kieran had heard that immediately, so because of that, he got up, arranged his bed, and screamed.
"Oh crud!" He screeched. "Crud crud crud crud crud! If I'm late one more time then I'll get a detention."
He quickly undressed in his mini private toilet, Katherine still there watching him, albeit as soon as he was about to head for the real bathroom, Katherine put her hand in front of the door, blocking Kieran's way.
"Oh and Kieran?" She trailed off dramatically. "You're welcome."
Kieran seemed confused, but was mainly alerted.
"For what?" He wheezed, yawning in the process, raising an eyebrow at her.
Katherine didn't reply, just flashed another enigmatic smile at Kieran before moving on.
"I deliberately made your alarm late."
Kieran was annoyed. He slammed his table, making all of the objects in there jump up and vibrate.
"What? Why?"
But once again. Katherine didn't reply. She just winked at him and blew him a poisonous motherly kiss, and then, well... She was off.
It had also turned out that Kieran was sort of in a rush for nothing.
Here he was, quickly taking his shower like his life depended on it, and eating his breakfast quicker than the speed of light as well.
His father had noticed his unorthodox actions, so he thought that it would have been peculiar of him not to ask Kieran why he was rushing everything he seemed to be doing.
"Kieran why are you eating your cereal so quickly?" He plundered.
"No time dad," Kieran replied hastily through a mouthful of cereal.
He kept on swiftly eating it, making his stepfather internally cross with Kieran because he was making such a gargantuan mess over, what seemed like it, nothing.
Actually, Kieran's life sort of did depend on eating fast after all because if he was late one more time, like he said, he would have served an after school detention.
It was also the last day of school before the March half term, which Kieran found ironic on why someone would host a detention on the last day, but then again Kieran didn't really like to question.
"I've got to go now dad," Kieran exclaimed, packing his bag as well as making a run for it out of the house.
"But Kieran it's only-"
But by the time Kieran's stepfather was about to finish the second half of his sentence, Kieran was already out of the house, not realising that he was way too early for school.
Kieran had arrived at school at around eight o'clock. He had rushed into school and kept on screaming to people in the way "move, I'm going to be late!" making people look at him blankly but they didn't say anything.
Kieran was stopped unexpectedly at his locker, by two people rushing behind him, continuously jumping up and down.
It wasn't Justin.
It wasn't Clyde.
It wasn't Lauriel, or anyone else Kieran didn't really like.
It was Theo and Leo.
They kept on tapping him, until they gained his full attention.
"Kieran! Kieran you've got to enter this art competition!" This was coming from Leo.
Annoyingly, Kieran turned around, and had to admit, was a bit dumbfounded when he saw them.
"Theo? Leo? No way. You guys go to this school?"
Nether of them replied, they just kept on jumping up and down showing the art competition poster that Kieran had read with Clyde earlier, at least when they were still friends anyway.
"Not necessarily," Theo replied, staring at Kieran and placing his arm on the locker next to his.
"Then why are you here?" Kieran wanted to know, his surprised face becoming annoyed in less than a millisecond.
"Inset day," Theo and Leo told Kieran.
Kieran was confused, so as a result of that, he didn't reply.
"No school today?"
Kieran didn't reply.
"Staff training day?"
Kieran got it promptly. He still didn't understand how they found him though, let alone what school Kieran went to.
"Finally, a term that you actually understand." Theo gloated at Kieran, making Kieran roll his eyes in disbelief.
"No I understood the others. I was just confused on how you guys found out what school I went to," Kieran corrected him. "Anyway, why do you guys want me to join the art competition?"
"Read this beauty!" Leo urged, and since Theo was behind Kieran, he nudged him, pushing him forward.
Kieran tried reading everything in his head however Leo kept on moving the paper. Soon after, Kieran became so fed up that he literally had to shout at Leo to stop moving the paper so that Kieran could actually read it properly.
"No," Kieran hissed, folding his arms when he had finished reading the paper. "No, I am not applying for this competition."
"But you get to go to Florida if you win!" Theo reminded him. In the meantime, Kieran just told him to get lost before he called the headteacher on them because they didn't actually go to this school.
Kieran, Theo and Leo were arguing with each other for about five minutes , Kieran saying that he was definitely not applying for the competition each time, until Theo and Leo gave up and walked away out of the school.
"Fine! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and you decide to back down from it? Fine then, have it your way."
Then they were off once and for all.
Kieran was almost fully ticked off by now, and was completely ticked off once he realised that Katherine had lied to him about being late to school.
She had made his alarm four hours fast so that it read ten o'clock am when Kieran was sleeping, and when he woke up, it said it was eleven, when it was really seven o'clock.
The next thing that had happened to Kieran afterwards was for Kendrick to run up to him, reminding him that he needed to get revenge on Clyde.
Kieran grinned, as they put their plan into action. What Kieran and Kendrick were going to do to Clyde and Justin was to pour sticky slime on them as they were walking past, and they were about two minutes away from them at the moment.
"You ready?" Kendrick whispered to Kieran, who just smiled and smirked.
Clyde and Justin, in the meantime, walked over to Kieran's direction.
Before they did that though, Clyde physically pinned a year seven kid to the floor, whilst Justin took a year eight girl's apple juice, drank the remaining juice inside and practically threw the carton at her.
Their clothes "theme" today must have been cyan or something because when Kieran saw both of them, it turned out that they were both wearing the same thing, plus they styled their hair.
"Well well, look who it is," this was coming from Clyde. "Kieran. Where's Kendrick at?"
Kieran didn't reply. He didn't need to, he didn't talk to people he didn't like.
Justin came closer to Kieran then, before placing an arm on Clyde's shoulder.
Kieran couldn't take this anymore.
He had to say something.
No matter how ridiculous it sounded, he had to say something, anything.
So he did.
"Dr Ugliness, Boaty McBoatface," Kieran said to Justin, then Clyde. "Nice meeting you."
Justin couldn't believe his ears. He cracked his knuckles, before coming way close to Kieran.
"Nice meeting us? Nice meeting us? We're not nice, we're here to take you down brother."
Kieran scoffed before rolling his eyes in disbelief.
After doing that, he turned to Justin, then Clyde then Kendrick, and did this three times.
Then when no one was looking, Kieran winked at Kendrick.
