Chapter 125- Kozak's Gone Depressed Again

Uhm yeah, so in real life, I deliberately deleted this chapter (and a few others) thinking that I didn't need them but it turned out that I actually did.

So therefore the comments you're seeing on this chapter is from the original chapter and not this one... yeah. I restored it back. Thank God I back it up, goodness knew what would have happened if I didn't. Enjoy!

This chapter talks about suicide, so if you don't want to read that then just skip to the next one (when I publish it anyway)

Dr Kozak and Maria Grace had both intently yet annoyingly fixed their eyes on Kieran as he turned to leave, and as soon as Kieran had left, that was when Dr Kozak rolled his eyes before Maria Grace had turned to him.

"Hey sir," was the first thing Maria Grace had murmured to Dr Kozak when Kieran had fully disappeared.

Dr Kozak didn't reply for while as he was just taking notes about something but then after some time Dr Kozak's eyes followed Maria Grace's before saying his next sentence.

"Hey," he muttered back, frowning all the way, mainly because Dr Kozak was thinking about what had just happened with him and Kieran and Dr Kozak couldn't tolerate Kieran.... anymore.

For some reason, after that proceeded silence, which was a bit peculiar because Maria Grace and Dr Kozak always had something interesting to talk about.

Not this time around though.

Maria Grace was deeply contemplating what to say despite the fact that Dr Kozak beat her to it.

"And look... I'm really sorry that things didn't really turn out the way you wanted them to turn out."

Maria Grace sighed next, solemnly, before helping herself up the stage in which Dr Kozak was currently sitting on, sitting right next to him, her legs dangling underneath.

"Nah... it's fine."

Silence.

"And I'm truly sorry that I got involved in the first place. Gosh, I feel so terrible. This had nothing to do with me and I just got involved. I hate my life."

Dr Kozak: *smiles weakly at her but says nothing else to her* Don't hate your life. You were just trying to help.

Maria Grace: But-

Dr Kozak: *nonchalantly interrupts her halfway* Plus even if you thought you were getting involved, so what? I thought it was very generous of you.

Maria Grace: *stares at him in the eyes* Really?

Dr Kozak: *stares at her back in the eyes then nods vigorously* Yes, really.

Maria Grace was still quite upset though, albeit became less upset when Dr Kozak had unexpectedly hugged her.

Maria Grace: *smiles* Thanks, sir.

Dr Kozak: You're welcome.

Maria Grace: And are you okay?

Dr Kozak just looked at her suspiciously, possibly wondering why Maria Grace had just asked him that.

Dr Kozak: Yeah I'm fine... *a rather dramatic pause* Why?

Maria Grace: You seem kinda depressed nowadays.

Dr Kozak: Just a lot of things on my mind, MG.

Maria Grace: Well... I should go. Don't want to disturb you as you're handwriting your tests of justice.

Maria Grace jumped off the stage, and even though she had barely taken one step, realised that Dr Kozak was holding her back by squeezing her right hand.

Dr Kozak: Wait; Maria Grace.

Maria Grace just turned back to face him, not really saying anything, Dr Kozak still pretty much squeezing her hand tightly.

Dr Kozak: Don't go.

Maria Grace: Why?

Dr Kozak: Because.

Maria Grace: *harsher tone to her voice but obviously didn't want it to be harsher* Because what?

Dr Kozak: *ignores her question completely* Have you got a minute?

Maria Grace smiled.

Maria Grace: Well yeah I've got lots of minutes. Why?

Dr Kozak: Because I'd really like to speak to you about something.

Maria Grace: Why me though?

Dr Kozak: Because you're one of my best friends here Maria Grace.

Maria Grace smiled, Dr Kozak smiling too when he soon found out that MG was smiling.

Maria Grace: Wait. One of?

Dr Kozak: Ezekiel.

Maria Grace: Oh yeah. So what did you want to talk to me about?

Dr Kozak: Can't say here. There are too many people. *casually jumps off the stage, leaving his handwritten tests of justice behind* Let's go somewhere more private.

And saying that, Dr Kozak held Maria Grace's hand as they walked out of the room.

Do I have a choice? Maria Grace thought to herself.

"No. No, you don't have a choice, Maria Grace."

Maria Grace gasped.

"How did you know I was thinking that?!"

Dr Kozak didn't say anything.

Then...

"Oh wait... you're a mind reader aren't you.."

Dr Kozak nodded, both of them still walking as fast as their legs could take them.

"I've been a mind reader for two years, Maria Grace! How are you only realising this now?!"

Maria Grace shrugged.

"I realised you were a mind reader ages ago. I just kinda forgot."

They didn't say anything after that, mainly because Dr Kozak accidentally bumped into someone.

Or that someone bumped into Dr Kozak. Either way, someone bumped into someone else.

"Hey!" Dr Kozak screamed at the top of his lungs to the person that had supposedly bumped into him. "Watch where you're going you-"

But then Dr Kozak paused.

The reason for this being because he had eventually looked up, and when he realised who had bumped into him, he kind of smiled.

"Oh hey, Ezekiel."

Ezekiel smiled complacently before saying anything else.

"Hey." Then Ezekiel couldn't really help but to become slightly confused.

"And plus shouldn't you be at Esperanza's party? The party is that way."

Ezekiel then pointed to the corridor that Dr Kozak and Maria Grace had just come from, both of them looking back but not saying anything.

"Oh no, Dr Kozak wants to talk to me about something," Maria Grace told Ezekiel.

Silence.

"Oh..." Ezekiel trailed off, eyeing both of them weirdly, slightly jealous even. "Okay."

"I mean, you can come too, if you like," Dr Kozak added instantaneously.

Ezekiel grinned.

"Are you sure though...."

Dr Kozak nodded.

"Well yeah. I guess we can have a little best friend talk. And you're one of my best friends, Ezekiel, so let's go!"

Then without warning, Dr Kozak grabbed Ezekiel's hand, leading both him and Maria Grace to Costume Stimulator One, before slamming the door shut on them.

Maria Grace and Ezekiel: Okay so, why are we here?

They said this at the same time.

Dr Kozak sighed, leaning back on the door, despite the fact that the door was locked and Dr Kozak knew that.

Dr Kozak: Guys I have to tell you something.

No one said anything next- not even the doctor himself. Dr Kozak sighed again, moving away from the door and closer to Maria Grace and Ezekiel, sitting on a purple chair that so magically happened to be there.

Ezekiel: You okay?

Dr Kozak: Yeah I'm fine.

Maria Grace: Are you sure?

Ezekiel: *adding on to Maria Grace's comment* Yeah you sound and look really stressed, Demetrius.

Maria Grace: Look, you really don't have to do this if you don't want to.

Dr Kozak: Well I need to tell someone about it.

Ezekiel: Tell someone about what? *raises an eyebrow at him in return*

Dr Kozak: *has suddenly become quieter, although nobody really knows why* I can't believe I'm saying this but-

Ezekiel and MG: But what?

Dr Kozak: I was thinking of maybe..

Maria Grace: *Ezekiel has gone silent because he feels as though he knows what Dr Kozak is going to say next, so is waiting to see if he's right* Maybe what?

Dr Kozak: *really depressed, sighs in frustration* I was thinking of maybe committing suicide.

Maria Grace: Are you crazy?!

Ezekiel: I'm not really surprised- I kinda figured you were going to say that.

Maria Grace: Why do you want to commit suicide?

Dr Kozak: Because I'm worthless, Maria Grace.

Ezekiel: No you're not, Demetrius.

Dr Kozak: *fake laughs* Hahaha. But I am, Ezekiel.

Maria Grace: How are you worthless?

Dr Kozak: How am I not worthless more like. I make mistakes.

Maria Grace: We all make mistakes, Dr K.

Ezekiel: Yeah. Mistakes are what makes us human, Demetrius.

Dr Kozak: Well yeah I know that but I make way too many mistakes.

Ezekiel: We all have strengths and weaknesses, Demetrius.

Dr Kozak: *shakes his head* Not really. I only have weaknesses. No strengths.

Ezekiel: Why are you saying all these things about yourself?

Dr Kozak didn't reply.

Maria Grace: Look- is this about what Kieran has said to you?

Dr Kozak: Kind of. But I've been in a deep blue funk way before Kieran and I had that massive argument.

Maria Grace: You should see a doctor.

Dr Kozak: Ironic much.

No one said anything.

Dr Kozak: And well, if you guys don't mind then I can commit suicide right in front of you guys.

Ezekiel and Maria Grace: No!

Dr Kozak placed a black gun to his head, almost thinking of pulling the trigger of the gun, committing suicide and killing himself.

But he didn't- he couldn't get beyond pulling the gun to his head.

Maria Grace: Don't commit suicide!

Dr Kozak: *frowns* Why not?

Ezekiel: Because you've got so much life left to live, Demetrius.

Dr Kozak didn't say anything, just stared at Ezekiel's eyes, before turning to Maria Grace again as she said something.

Maria Grace: Plus why would you want to kill yourself at Esperanza's birthday party anyway?

Again, Dr Kozak didn't reply. Just looked at Ezekiel, then Maria Grace, then Ezekiel again.

He lowered the gun and rolled his eyes.

Dr Kozak: Fine. I won't commit suicide.

Ezekiel and Maria Grace smiled.

Dr Kozak: Today.

They both became somewhat annoyed at him.

Ezekiel: No, Demetrius. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever.

Dr Kozak didn't say anything once again.

Maria Grace: *coming closer to him* Give me the gun.

Dr Kozak: Why?

Maria Grace: *yells at him* Give me the gun!

Dr Kozak: *yells back at her* Fine.

Then Dr Kozak reluctantly handed it over to her before any of them had said anything else.

Ezekiel: *is texting someone, annoyed* You've been cutting yourself, haven't you?

Dr Kozak: *frowns* Who told you?

Ezekiel: Your sister, Elizabeth. She texted me everything just now.

Dr Kozak: *screaming* Why the hell would she do something like that?!

Ezekiel: Because you're her brother, and she's concerned about you!

Maria Grace: Let me see your cuttings.

Dr Kozak just frowned at her.

Maria Grace: Let me see your cuttings!

Dr Kozak: Fine!

Then Dr Kozak rolled up his sleeve (right hand) really quickly, Ezekiel and Maria Grace pretty much screaming in horror once they saw how badly Dr Kozak had been cutting himself recently.

Ezekiel: *really really really infuriated* Why the heck would you do that dude?!

Dr Kozak: Because Lauriel influenced me!

Maria Grace: Aren't you right handed though?

Dr Kozak: Well yeah. Ambidextrous really. But mainly right handed.

Ezekiel: Why would you cut yourself on your right hand if you're right handed?

Dr Kozak: I don't know!

No one really said anything.

Dr Kozak: Although I have made it so that my right hand doesn't hurt me.

Maria Grace shook her head, heading for the door, Ezekiel staying where he was.

Maria Grace: *just about to open the door handle* This is ridiculous. I'm leaving.

Dr Kozak: Wait!

Then they both turned around to face the doctor before saying anything else.

Dr Kozak: I'm sorry guys. I won't commit suicide. I promise.

Maria Grace and Ezekiel: That's exactly what we wanted to hear.

And saying that, all three of them hugged each other for what felt like a year but was really only ten seconds, before Dr Kozak opened the door so that all of them could eventually leave.
