I put my phone in my jean pocket and put on my black converse. I look at myself in the mirror.
I'll always hate the way I look, I don't know why I even bother.
I head downstairs and see Sadie and Todd making out. They're heading upstairs. Ew. I brush away from them and grab a water out of the fridge.
Soon my phone buzzes and I see it's Harry saying he's here. I close the door behind me and walk down my porch. The sky looks gloomy again.
I get into his car. "Sadie is home?"
"Sadly. She's with Todd upstairs." His face scrunches.
"Ew."
"You're telling me." Todd is very muscular and tall. He's intimidating to me.
"Do you think he's cute?" I laugh.
"He reminds me of a water buffalo." Harry laughs at my remark and starts driving.
"Do you have a type?"
"No." I say. "I'll take what I can get." I joke. He cracks a smile. "You?"
"Uh," He pauses. "Brown hair, blue eyes, around 5"3, has a nice smile, one year younger then me; enjoys food." He looks to me and smiles cheekily.
"Who's that?" Harry looks to me with furrowed eyebrows. "I'm 5"2." He laughs.

I just finished my AP English and History class. My head hurts from all the information I learned. Plus, my teachers lectures are boring as shit.
"Hey, May right?" A voice says next to me. I look up from my locker and see the boy I told where to go to last week. Evan, is name is.
"Yeah, h-hi."
"I wanted to ask you something-"
"May are you good to go?" Harry's voice says next to me. I see Evan look to Harry, I bite my lip.
"Y-Yeah." I stammer.
"Are you guys a thing?" Evan asks curiously. Before I answer Harry does.
"Yeah, she's my girlfriend." Evan nods and I stand there awkwardly.
"I'll let you go. Nice seeing you May." Evan says.
"You too." He walks away.
"I'm your girlfriend now?" I close my locker. His eyes narrow at me. "What?"
"You know what I meant."
"He was just talking to me. Maybe I could've had a friend." He stops walking.
"So, you like him?" His voice defensive. The halls are cleared fortunately.
"I'll say this again, I don't know him to like him."
"Do you want to know him? You can go get his number if you want, I don't care."
"Why are you so defensive?" I ask him.
"I'm not. We aren't a thing, we're just going out. You can talk to him, or whoever you want."
"Why are you acting like this? I didn't say I wanted to get his number nor did I want it. Just because he started talking to me, doesn't mean I want to go out with him. Maybe he's into boys or something or wanted to ask me where to go. I doubt he's interested in me." His face is still stern, but soon loosens up.
"I'm sorry." He murmurs.
"Lets just go."

During the car ride to where ever he decided to take me I feel his hand intertwine with mine. My nerves rack up inside me and I bite my lip. His hand is warm and soft against mine.
"Where are we going?" I ask Harry who is looking at the road.
"A restaurant. Since we're keeping us on the DL, I found a place just out of town that looked cool. We don't have to worry about people from school seeing us. Which I'm totally fine with, don't get me wrong I-"
"I get what you're saying. Thank you." He looks at me and smiles gently. His eyes look back to the road. We come to a red light. "It's not expensive right?"
"I'm not telling you." He hums.
"Harry." I scold. "Tell me."
"No, because I know you still want to pay me back." He chuckles.
"I just feel bad."
"I don't mind paying, May. Even if you did have money on you, I'd still pay. What do you work for by the way?"
"My parents give me pity money every month, since they're really never home they feel bad."
"How much do they give you?"
"A thousand."
"And you're already out?" He laughs.
"Well, I have three bucks. I don't know how to cook so, I eat a lot of take out. I use half for food, half for gas for my car." I explain.
"Smart." Harry says making me grin softly. "You don't cook?"
"I know pasta, and anything with directions." He laughs.
"I'd have to cook for you one night then." He smiles softly.
"I haven't had a real meal since when my mother cooked a few weeks ago. Prior to that, maybe March." His eyes widen. It's the beginning of August now.
"I'm so sorry." I grin. "I can also bake." Harry looks to me. We're at another red light.
"Really?"
"I used to work in a bakery."
"Why did you stop?"
"AP classes take a lot of my time." He was about to say something, but he closes his mouth. "Sometimes I go back there and work for free. It's a nice environment."
"What do you know how to bake?"
"A lot of stuff." He starts talking about different things his boss used to make him do. Hearing him talk is nice, usually he's always asking me questions.
~
We wait for our food. The restaurant is nice, but casual. We're seated in a booth. "Did you uh, tell anyone about us?" Harry asks me curiously.
"No. Did you not want me to?"
"Oh, no, I didn't mean it like that. You can tell Adam, Ronnie, or whoever. I don't mind, I was just asking." I nod.
"Have you?"
"No, all my friends are jackasses who'd bully you more. I don't want that."
"Thanks." I murmur. "So, are your parents nice?"
"Yeah, they are. My Mom is very caring and my Dad is as well."
"Are they home a lot?"
"Depends. Sometimes they get home late, sometimes they don't." I nod and sip my water. "Is Ellie coming home soon?"
When Ellie comes home, I get pushed to the side more. My parents have their perfect daughters and don't need me around.
"I think." I murmur. "They don't talk to me much about anything, so. Anyways, when Ellie is home Sadie would of course want you over for dinner." He cracks a smile.
"What? That's not a good thing?"
"I didn't say that." I murmur. He smirks at me and drinks his water.
"What school does Ellie attend to?"
"UCLA."
"Oh, cool." He says. "For what?"
"To be a nurse or some shit." I bite my lip. "What about your sister?"
"Lawyer."
"Oh, she's got a way to go." I say, he cracks a smile.
~
"Thanks for going out with me." Harry says as we pull up to my house. No one is home, as usual. Rain starts tapping his car. Gotta love Washington.
"I should be thanking you, I got a free meal." He laughs.
"You said thank you three times."
"I'm thankful for food." Harry grins at me gently. He leans down slowly and brushes his lips against mine. A wave of warmness spreads over me. He gently pecks my lips.
"I'll text you later?"
"Okay." I bite my lip. His fingers draw small circles on my cheek. He kisses me again making me smile against his soft lips. His hands hold my head steady.
"You should go now, because if not I'd keep kissing you." He murmurs against my lips.
"Uhuh." I pull away. "Thanks again."
"My pleasure." I leave his car and rush up to my porch so I don't get soaked in the rain that's starting to come down heavily.
I close the door behind me and take a deep breath. I lick my lips and smile to myself.
