Chapter 32

Third POV

Bayley leaves the kitchen and goes outside to see Sasha landing down on the ground in front of the house.

"Sash what are-"

Bayley cut off mid-sentence by Sasha hugging her. Bayley returns the hug and feels tears landing on her shirt Bayley hugs her slightly tighter as she rubs circles around Sasha's back. The two remain silent.

Sasha pulls away tears still falling down her face making Bayley heartbroken to see Sasha crying. Bayley walked them to the front lawn chairs and sat down as Sasha laid her head on Bayley chest crying. Bayley whispered comforting words as she rubbed Sasha's back in circles.

Bayley stares at Sasha who is now slowly calming down.

"I'm sorry I ruined you're party." Sasha whispers apologizing Bayley frowns, "You didn't ruin my party, Sash." Bayley assures her but Bayley could tell Sasha didn't believe her. Before Bayley could try to convince Sasha not to think that.

"Do...do you resent my dad? For what he did?" Sasha asked and continues talking, "You told me that you aren't mad at my dad especially what he said about you guys not being fighters but magicians who used lights and tricks. But did you say that because you were worried about not hurting my feelings. " Sasha asked and Bayley remains silent trying to find the right words to answer Sasha question.

Sasha wanted, no, she needed to know. Her father lying to the world has impacted not only Bayley friends but mostly impacted Bayley family. Sasha needed to know how Bayley truly felt. Bayley still hadn't responded. Sasha almost wished Bayley would have just started denying again, even if it was a lie.

"...Sometimes. I mean, it was a lot of different things. Never was the fame. As I said the privacy that my family and I had will be gone and will be filled with paparazzi. Beth family deals with paparazzi and I didn't want the same for my family." Bayley answered.

"Then what my dad said... did it hurt you guys?"

"Sasha."

"I mean it, Bayley. No sugar coating. No sparing my feelings because he's my dad. Just tell me!"

"Him calling my dad and the others fakes, frauds, trickers. I'll admit Sasha, that still gets me riled up. Because they bled and sweat and died for the strength they have and all they ever wanted to do was help people with it, to improve themselves. So...when your dad got all this publicity and he called them those names...it made me mad." Bayley went quiet, "And me saving the world. Well, I mean, yeah, I was proud of it but as well as the strength I had then. My dad and I made that together. It was his last gift to me, in a way. It was a reminder of what we had, the memories we made." That coldness was back, the slight darkness to Bayley voice. "And he...called it false."

Then, just as suddenly, Bayley was shaking her head, giving that weird, awkward smile that was equal parts embarrassing and adorable. Laughing, a bit, she said, "At one point I did almost considered confronting him about it when I was still grieving my dad death but mom talked me out of it. Said that..." She trailed off, "Well, it doesn't matter what she told me."

Sasha lifted her head and looked at Bayley. "But it does, Bayley. What did she say?" There was an importance in that, she could feel it. "Bayley!"

"C'mon. Let's take you're mind off it and celebrate me being alive. Twenty bucks says I can beat Edge in a food contest." Bayley said avoiding Sasha's question. Just as Sasha was going to protest.

"You're on brat."

Sasha gets up and is surprised to see Edge leaning against the wall not looking at her and Bayley.

"Go on ahead Sasha." Bayley tells her. "Fine but this conversation isn't over." Sasha tells her as she walks inside the house but not before shooting a dirty look at Edge who didn't seem bothered.

"You're going to talk to the idiot." Edge said already knowing the answer, Bayley nodded. "Are you going to try and talk me out of it." Bayley asked, "Why? I would be wasting my time although I do want to see the look on his face when he sees you after seven years. It would be hilarious." Edge chuckles imaging the look of fright on the idiot face when Bayley reveals that she's the girl that saved the world.

Bayley chuckles, "Typical Edge."

"You could come too if you want but that's only if you promise not to break anything nor hurt him." Bayley says but Edge scoffs. "As much as that sounds fun." Edge sarcastically says Bayley rolls her eyes. "I'll have to cover for you or the idiot daughter will realize you went to confront her father." Edge said.

Bayley is surprised at first that Edge is covering for her when she didn't ask for him too but then smiles.

"Thanks Edge. But you covering for me won't stop me from defeating you when we have our match." Bayley says before she fly's away to Sasha's house.
