Mommy's Gonna Protect You
A/N: This chapter was inspired by my mom, who always used to comfort me and sing to me at night, so most of the things happening between Sakura and Izumi here were portrayed moments between mother and me. (Except the part where they go all spy-y. (?)
"Don't try anything funny. Boss is watching you from cameras here." the henchmen warns, closing the door behind him to leave the mother and daughter alone in the rather lavish bedroom.
"Mommy, what's going to happen to us?" Izumi asked with slight tears in her eyes. Sakura looks towards the closed door and shakes her head. "You'll be fine, Izumi. Daddy's going to come find us, okay?"
"But that rude man from earlier said he was my dad." Izumi replied, "Is he really?"
"Of course not, he's just crazy." Sakura answered, before hearing the previously locked door open. "Calling your groom crazy is not the start to a very happy marriage, you know." the man from earlier came in with a cocky smirk and Sakura reflected the expression.
"I'm not calling Kioshi crazy, I was calling you crazy." she replied, rolling her eyes as she moved Izumi backwards. "Why do you want us so bad anyway? You have a ton of brides lined up for you, and have you ever heard of adoption?"
"But those children in adoption... They're weak..." he answered with thought and Sakura could give nothing more but a deadpanning look. "Izumi was adopted."
"But the difference was, she lived with you. She lived with an underground hacker who was connected to some of the most dangerous men in the world." he replied simply, looking around the room with great interest.
"It doesn't matter, besides, she's only a young girl, mafia men usually look for sons to take over. Why her?"
"I'm running out of time. Besides, I can probably train her to be stronger."
"Get lost. You disgust me." Sakura sighed, looking away. She then felt a hand grab her chin, making her look up to the man. "Ogiwara, Aki. Remember my name, Sumiko. You're going to be sharing my last name soon, just like her."
He gestured to Izumi, before letting go of her chin and leaving through the door, once more locking it behind him.
Sakura looks around, all the windows in their room were barred, closing them in with no means of escape other than the door that was locked from the outside. "Well, looks like we're going to trying to get out of here with the door. Think you can sneak around later, Izumi?"
Sakura whispers, knowing fully well that if there are cameras in here, there will be mics or something of a sort to hear conversation. Izumi nods and looks around as well, grabbing a book.
They pretend to read together as Sakura whispers. "I''ll pretend to use the bathroom and you can try to keep one person in here to distract." Izumi listens carefully, still flipping through the book. "Keep safe, okay? I'll be back soon. I just need to find something to get us out of here."
She got up and bit her lip before rattling on the door's handles. Of course, the moment she does that the door opens to reveal a man. "What the hell are you doing? I-"
"I need to use the bathroom." "There's one in your damn room, woman. Use it."
Sakura turns around and gestures secretly for Izumi to rush to the bathroom with a ssmall wave and a glance to the door.
"My daughter is using it, it's my time of the... erm..." "Fine, let's go. Do you need anything?"
"I should be fine, just lead the way. Cramps are killing me here." (A/N: I feel bad for anyone who gets those. I'm so lucky I don't get them, tbh XD)
"Tch, I don't need to know, brat." he clicks his tongue and opens a door. "There. Hurry up, I'll be waiting here." "What about my daughter?"
"Ah, crap... I'll patrol back and forth then, whatever. Don't try anything funny, heard me?"
"I can't." Sakura answers with a sassy glance, looking at the man before entering. She locks the door after telling the man she was going to be a while, the man sighing in annoyance before walking back off to the room to patrol.
She looks around immediately, of course to find nothing of importance. However, she grabs a roll of first aid tape and bandages, wrapping it around her fingertips before climbing atop the bathtub rim to try and pry of a vent cover.
It slams to the ground after a surprisingly easy pry-off. Sakura grits her teeth in worry before picking it up, grabbing a few more bandages and aid tape along with painkillers and stuffing them into the shorts and sweater pockets she had. Of course she was forced to change after being kidnapped.
She climbs into the vents and closes the cover behind her, making sure it wasn't too tight in so it would be easy to slip back into the room later.
She quietly slipped through vent passage by vent passage, some dust rubbing onto her clothing. Sakura looked through a particular vent cover, noticing an office room. Figuring there might be something helpful there, she quickly looked around the area through the vent cover as much as possible before removing it.
Taking her by surprise however, was the cover slamming in down to the room below. As quickly as she could, she swung down and managed to catch it by trapping it with her feet. Breathing a sigh of relief, she swung her legs to make sure she could toss the metal cover onto the leather chair nearby.
Of course she failed, letting it fall onto the marble floor, muffled slightly by scraping on the chair. She groaned at the mistake and jumped down as quietly as possible, hurriedly locking the door and sliding the curtains together to close the windowed view for her snooping about and around.
Knowing her limited time before people started to try and break into the bathroom, Sakura got to work and opened the laptop on the desk. She hacked into it easily, even though it took a few moments longer without the usual equipment.
She scanned over the files on the desktop, none catching her interest except for a particular one labelled 'Suki Sumiko'
That was her mother. Scrunching her eyes shut for a moment to let out a breath, Sakura opened it and was greeted by the familiar face of her biological mother. Ranging from when her mother was around 6 years old until her early 20's, until 30's to a few weeks before her death.
"What the fuck..." she muttered, scrolling through the pictures. Why did he have all these...?
She minimized the file and looked for another one possibly connecting to it. And there it was.
'Hitoshi Sumiko'
Sakura opened it, but there were only a few pictures, five to be exact, one being so blurry he was hardly recognizable. But there was a typed document.
It was information about her father, ass much as anyone from the underground could possibly collect. Full name, D.O.B, birth place, past jobs, past lovers, all his likes and dislikes, and possibly as much dirt that could be gathered as possible.
Trying to figure out as much as possible, it didn't take long for her to put two and two together when she sees a picture of her mother and Ogiwara, dressed up fancy together. Prom, it must've been.
But... Ogiwara was like, 6 years younger than her mother...
She looked to the pictures of her 6 year old mother, finding one of her playing with a baby. A newborn? It was Ogiwara.
Was it... Aki... he was in love with Suki?
Sakura saved the pictures and attached them to an email, sending them from her own email account to Kioshi's. Erasing all evidence of her from the computer, she closed it and glanced to the clock. 5 minutes...
She could spare five more.
She opened the drawers on the desk the laptop was set on. The sound of worried, heavy breathing from her mixed with the ruffling of papers from the desk was drowned by the loud pounding in her chest and head.
Then her knuckles lightly hit the bottom of the drawer, hearing a hollow knock. It was a thin layer of plywood, a second layer to the drawer to be exact, obvious to be found when a little hook attached to it help lift it up to reveal two folders.
One was stamped with Sakura's parents' names. And one, stamped with hers.
Narrowing her eyes, she snatches them and places them against her abdomen. Grabbing the aid tape she had earlier, she thanked the people above as she wrapped them to her body, making sure it looked natural before placing her shirt back over it, wincing when the paper's sharp corners grazes her. She zips up her sweatshirt and looks back up to her escape.
Well, shit.
Maybe she didn't think this out so much. Fuck... Thinking back on it now, that damn ceiling is so high that her short height couldn't reach it. Even standing on the desk won't help.
Her only option was to sneak out. Sighing at her unfortunate life choices, and life, Sakura opts to reach for the door handle and unlocking it, opening it and slamming it shut, making a mad dash for the bathroom from earlier. Seeing as no one was patrolling there, she tries to unlock the door to make it seem as if she had just finished.
"Oi! What are you doing?!" She froze to see the man from earlier with a scowl. Though it was a stupid one, she lied anyway.
"It locked behind me hen I came out so I thought I'd-" "You're troublesome, you know that?" he sighed, taking off his hair, or more like, wig. And suddenly the cold blue eyes made Sakura squeal, standing up.
"Samejima? What are you-" "Shh, Izumi's already out and replaced with a dummy in the room, and so are you now. We need to leave, the heli is waiting outside with boss and Inui."
She nods and lets Samejima lead her out (A/N: I'm honestly tempted to turn this into a Semjime x OC thing now XD) to the helicopter waiting at the flat roof of the villa. "Get in, we-" "YOU! GIVE ME THOSE FILES BACK! AND MY BRIDE AND HEIRESS!"
The door slams open and Sakura hears Samejima curse before pulling out a gun. "Inui!" She turns to see Inui shielding Izumi from the scene, Soryu having his gun aimed at Aki of course.
He seemed to be alone and Sakura sighed. "Who the hell are you?!" she screamed. "WHO?!"
"Your fiance." he answered coolly, hands in pockets.
Sakura stays silent, ignoring the remark. Then she takes a breath and shouts over the now spinning blades of the copter. "WHO ARE YOU THAT YOU KNOW MY PARENTS?!"
He froze and stared at her intently before turning around quietly and walking out, not even bothering to reply or put up a fight for the bride and child he wanted so desperately.
"HEY! ANSWER ME YOU BAST-" "Let's go, ma'am." Samejima grabs her wrist and Sakura wriggles a little before she was forced to be strapped into her seat. "We'll find out later." Soryu reassures, but Sakura ignores him, looking out the window as they took off.
~*****~
"I'm surprised that was such a smooth and fast rescue." The moment she stepped inside, Eisuke's voice was the first thing she heard the moment she stepped inside. Sakura felt herself tackled by a hug, but her eyes ere still blank and empty, her face pale and hands shaky and clammy.
"Are you okay?" he asked, pulling back. He took her hand in his and squeezed it tightly when he felt the coldness of her skin. "Jesus..."
He lead her to a seat and let Izumi sit on his lap as he tried to get his bride to make eye contact with him. "Sakura?" She sat still before he reached out, only to jump slightly, scaring Izumi when Sakura had seized his hand mid air, face still void of emotions.
"Eisuke, I need you to look into Aki Ogiwara. I sent Kioshi an email attached with files from his computer regarding on this case. Here's some additional files," she shamelessly lifted her shit and unwrapped the files from her torso, tossing them onto the lounge table. "I want as much dirt as possible by next week."
He scoffed, "Are you ordering me around?" She must've snapped a nerve because her eyes went dark as she grabbed the collar of his high end purple dress shirt, pulling his face close. "Listen, Ichinomiya," she rarely called him that, only when she was incredibly pissed, "I rarely ask this of you. Please, do not make this harder than I need. Got it?"
He rolled his eyes and moved away, making her stand straight as he grabbed his pager, the lounge remaining quiet until Kenzaki came up. "What did you need, Mr. Ichinomiya?"
Looking straight into Sakura's calm yet threatening eyes, he handed the files to the man, "I want you to look into the connection of this family and Origawa Aki. I need as much dirt and info by the end of the week."
"Of course." he bowed respectfully and walked off. "There. it'll be there by 9:00 in the morning by Saturday."
She nods and gives thanks before turning to Mamoru. "Tomorrow. Ten in the morning, I want you here ready to go to work."
"That's too early, kid." he replies but Sakura proceeds to leave the lounge. "Make sure that the chief's and your office is open tomorrow."
~*****~
"Why are we here so early in the mornin'?" Mamoru complains.
"Because you helped me once already, one more shouldn't hurt, right?" she reasoned, and Mamoru snaps back. "I was forced the first time. I could've lost my damn job!"
"But you didn't." she said in a matter of fact way.
"What do you need?" he asked, closing the door behind them. Sakura lets out a laugh. "Okay, first of all, you sound like some drug dealer, two, that was ironic because you were a cop, three that was even more ironic because you always do shady business and four, I need whatever info you got on Aki Ogiwara."
He sighs and replies. "Anything involving mafia or underground people like him are only investigated by the chief and Chiasa, the cop down the hall who specializes with that."
"Then we'll go to the chief." "How're you gonna get him to hand those files over?" "Oh, Kishi... With money and some company for a night, you can get almost anything from any man."
She chuckled happily and headed out, to the door that was labelled 'CHIEF'. She never bothered to knock and entered, shocking the chief.
"Who are you?" "Sakura Sumiko. I need your info on Aki Ogiwara, any dirt you got." he shook his head merrily and sneered. "And why would I give that over to you?"
Sakura shifted her weight onto one foot, hand on her hip as she pulled out her checkbook.
"What do you need?"
