Could've Been Him

A/N: I don't know what it was, but that gif and imagining it was Soryu kinda broke my heart...

"Let go of me, Ota!" Eisuke demands as the artist keeps his tight grip on the CEO, dragging him to the elevator where Mamoru and Baba were holding Soryu in the elevator.

"You both need to go out sometime, okay? You've been moping around too much. Who knows, if we go out, we might just see Sakura outside!" Ota grins, pressing the buttons as the elevator began to descend.

Soryu and Eisuke stopped struggling once they were shoved into the limo, followed by the others who wore excited grins. They were hoping to see Sakura today, anywhere was fine.

"What are we supposed to do exactly?" Soryu asked, glaring at Baba and Ota, who were snickering silently.

"Don't worry about it, Sor." Baba chuckled, "You'll find out."

Baba had passed by the Busy Bean many times and had luckily spotted Sakura once entering it, and that's where they were going. It was his best bet.

The limo drove a few streets and such before stopping at a cozy, homey like cafe. Eisuke raised a brow at their choice and before he could utter a complaint, he was dragged off again. They entered the little cafe, taking a seat at one of the biggest tables there was.

"Explain to me how this would help us find Sakura." Eisuke sighed as Ota placed their orders.

"Just trust us, Boss. It'll be fine." Baba smiles, inhaling the sweet smell of coffee. "I hope so at least..."

Their orders came, handed out as the bidders all took a sip from their drink, Eisuke muttering complaints under his breath as he stirred the milk and sugar in his beverage. Although it seemed stupid, he still couldn't help but have a little hope to see his best friend here.

Jenna was actually helping with the search, getting her cousin Olivia to help her. But unknown to Jenna's new boyfriend, Eisuke, she had turned heads and was trying her best to cover the hacker.

The boys kept sharp eyes trained at the entrance, hoping someone would come through. Sakura.

"Calm down," Mamoru suddenly interrupts, sighing. "It's creepy when ya'll stare at the door like that, ya know."

Exhaling loudly, all the men look down, watching their drinks swish in their warm cups. The door constantly opened but no Sakura. At least, from what they noticed.

Kioshi's arm wrapped around her shoulders, Sakura enters their favorite place in town, Kio's workplace and their first meeting place.

"It's been a while since I've been here." Sakura laughs, leaning her head on Kioshi's shoulder. "Even though it's only been a week."

"I guess we come by too often, huh?" "You work here!" Sakura giggles, strolling up to the counter where the cashier greets Kioshi, the brunette greeting his coworker. They placed their orders, Sakura's favorite mocha and Kioshi's iced coffee.

They sat at their usual favorite table, which unfortunately, was right behind the bidders' table. As they walked towards the table, Sakura stiffened at the sight of her ex boyfriend and old friends. "Hey, you okay?" Kioshi asked with concern, noticing her change in attitude and position.

She took a quick glance at the table before nodding with a weak smile, "Y-Yeah..."

Although Kioshi was suspicious, he dropped the topic with a nod and a smile, kissing her forehead. Sakura sat at the table with her back to the bidders' table, making sure they didn't see her face. Swiping her hair to one side, Sakura unwittingly reveals the little birthmark on the back of her neck, one that Soryu's seen and memorized about her.

The mobster sighs from his seat beside Eisuke, looking up to scan the cafe before his eyes stopped on a happy, laughing couple sitting in the table behind theirs. He thought back on how happy he was with Sakura back then before casting his eyes down.

But then his sharp, eagle like eye catches sight of a little birthmark on the ravenette girl's neck. It was the exact same spot and Bismark Sakura had. He knew this because after they got together, only weeks after, he had gotten her a necklace and had put it on for her.

It was a gold white necklace, but if it was Sakura right now in front of his eyes, she was no longer wearing the treasure she had kept so close before. She was wearing a golden necklace around her neck now.

But what made Soryu disbelieve the most was when the girl suddenly lifted her left hand to reveal what looked to be either a promise or engagement ring around her left ring finger. It was a perfect fit, the small jewels on the piece of jewelry flashing as the light hit it in different angles.

The man in front of the girl was a slim-looking brunette with deep hazel eyes. Chiseled features and pearly white teeth. The man was handsome as much as Soryu hated to admit it, and he normally never admitted things like that unless he was serious.

If Sakura were to fall for him, he would definitely have quite the rival. But she wouldn't fall for someone like him... Right?

Apparently karma had already finished its job on their relationship, because he was dead wrong. The couple rose to their feet and turned to leave. Soryu instantly recognized the smiling face of his ex, who was now clinging onto the other man's hand tightly, tiptoeing to kiss his cheek, just like she used to with him.

"Sakura...?" Eisuke suddenly breathed from beside Soryu, making the rest of the bidders turn to Sakura, who was staring at them now with wide eyes. She approached them, hand still holding the man's.

"Hey, guys!" She plastered a cheerful smile on her beautiful face, "What are you doing here?"

"Just a coffee break." Baba shrugged as he lied. "What about you? Who's that friend there?" he asked carefully, not wanting to hear her say the answer as it was painfully obvious, especially for Soryu.

"Who, him?" Sakura asked innocently, gesturing to Kioshi, who smiled at the boys. "Ah, yeah! Guys, meet Kioshi, my boyfriend! We got together a few weeks ago."

"Boyfriend, huh?" Ota faked a smirk. "How's it going?"

"Great! He actually gave me this promise ring," Sakura smiled happily, ear to ear as she held out her left hand for the boys to see, making their eyes widen and Soryu's sadden. "Kio, these are my old friends, the ones I told you about! That's Baba, Ota, Mamoru, and Eisuke. Eisuke's an old schoolmate."

"What about him...?" Kioshi asked quietly, gesturing to Soryu, who was staring at Sakura's left hand with empty eyes.

"Ah yes, that's... Oh..." hearing her address him so formally broke his heart even more, knowing they were as distant as they could be now. "He's my ex boyfriend..."

"O-Oh... Nice to meet you all." Kioshi nods and smiles at the boys, who only stare at him, apart from Ota and Baba, who force weak smiles.

"Hey babe?" Sakura suddenly calls, making the bidders all turn to them. "We need to go, we have a flight to catch..."

"A flight?" Mamoru suddenly asks, bewildered. The Foxes, nor Shay, had told him anything about this. Was she planning to leave with him with no explanation.

"Oh yeah!" Sakura smiles. "Kioshi's older sister's getting married and I had helped her arrange a Paris wedding. Kio and I are flying out tonight to the wedding since it's in two days."

Soryu merrily listens and watches on as Sakura let the man's arm wrap around her waist, pulling her close. "And after that, I think Kioshi and I are moving in together in another place. Probably away from Dubai, you know?"

"Away from Dubai? Why?" Ota asked, trying to get some info. Although they were planning to move to Paris, Sakura lied and shrugged. "We don't know yet, maybe the States, if not, to Korea, where his brothers are."

"I-I see..." Baba mutters, trying to see if it was a good choice to interfere with their relationship since she was already so happy.

"Well we need to go, our flight leaves tonight and we still need to get our luggage and such. Maybe we'll see you around again." Sakura waved to the boys, walking off with Kioshi.

And Soryu could only watch.

He could only watch as she walked off with someone else.

He could only listen to her laugh and talk with him.

He could only love her from afar as she fell deeper and deeper for someone. Someone other than him.

The someone that could've been him.

A/N:

Hey guys! Sorry for this real late update of the day. I was so tired I fell asleep as soon as I got home from school. That and my brother's been hogging the computer so I couldn't use it to type.

Anyway, I hope you like this chapter. It was mostly focused on the revelation of her new relationship and the start of Soryu fighting to get her back (although it wasn't shown clearly). But yeah, I'll only be updating one chapter today since I need to sleep early because of an early school trip tomorrow.

Thanks for reading!

Ciao!
