Ch 5 - Z's

Not a ship either.

Enjoy.

Young Clovis found himself in his shell of his father's quarters scrambling again. Quite a day. The coffee is good, some of the ships are quite interesting, and he found out secrets about his father. Including what seems to be a lover. Friedrich seemed quite comforting to him in a motherly way and he wasn't prepared for it. Especially since his mother passed away years ago.

Though he was at it again. Going through daily checks on top of his assignment he gave himself yesterday. Clovis was documenting all the reports from today which included repairs, ammo stock, upgrade plans, projects going through the motion, and much more. There was a small mountain in his to-do file. Then when finished it would be filed away in the filing cabinets accordingly. Weapons folders, injury and repairs, ammunition, and many more individual fillings. Some even having their own cabinets.

These all needed attending. Uploaded into the database, scanned for knowledge to have awareness of what is transpiring on the water, and to be organized. Clovis was in for a rough one as the to-do pile was so big, his hands couldn't squeeze all the pages. Some stapled already, though there were some reports of a dozen or so pages that needed to be put in order and stapled before being analyzed and put away.

The process took hours. Clovis even ate dinner over the view of the docks. After about twenty minutes he went back to it. The job was started to wear him out just a wee bit. The stack still in front of him was told to "an extraordinary amount". Well extraordinary can't be spelled without extra. As time was starting to catch Clovis was starting to grow tired and sluggish. He was moving at a faster pace. Double checking just in case. Until he came to a standstill.

Clovis looked at the clock. It was nearly 23:00. "Nein. A wee bit more."

A soft knock came to the door. It opened the boy's eyes wide and nearly made him jump. "Jah!? Come in."

"It is very late my child." Friedrich entered the room.

"Very aware. Should be out of here soon after this, is,-" Clovis looked at the pile and knew that this was not going to be done.

"It is bad for your health to stay up and work all night." She stepped over towards the desk. Leaned over and looked closely at his face. "Have you at least been drinking?"

"Why would I drink at work?"

"Water. You look pale and famished. Working all day like this your hair will be as white as Jurgen's before you know it."

"Good idea." He watched her walk over to a cabinet. Opening it up and seeing that inside are bottles of water. She had taken three out and shut the cabinet door before walking back to the desk. "One for me. Two for you because you look drained."

"Thank you." Clovis replied softly. He opened up the bottle of water and he ended up guzzling half of it. Not knowing that he really was drained. Though he still was curious about this woman. Her soft tone and caring so much about the commander before him. "Friedrich, what do you mean to my father?"

"Your father is caring man. Is kind to me and everyone else. All the people that depend on him. Injuries, well being, and making sure there is no threat to any of us. But he needs someone to care for him too. I've seen him spend many days and nights working hard and drinking too much coffee. Not taking care of his health."

Clovis put all of it together. "So, you're his, partner?"

"Yes. And, it is my duty to take care of you as well." She hugged him into her chest. "Who's a good man that's been working hard?"

Another knock came at the door. "CJ?"

"Come in." Called Friedrich.

Prinz Eugen opened the door to a rather unusual sight. Disturbed by the fact that Clovis was smothered into the chest of Friedrich. It didn't look motherly on her end. "CJ, what is going on?"

"Hm..." In this position who is in the chest of a busty woman, he cannot English. Or German. Speak anything really...

"Can you let go of the commander please? Before I use force? I will win." Asked Eugen crossing her arms.

Friedrich shook her head. "Not on your best day. But very well." Releasing her grip and stepping back. "I was just checking up on him. He found out he now has bottles of water so he can replenished as he works."

"Jah." A straight faced answer.

"I didn't know that this was bothering anybody. The young man needs replenishing, nourishment, and bed rest. He has been working so hard and been all alone all these hours."

"Which is why I came to check up on him. This is one of the only lights on at this time of night. I don't want him hurting his back falling asleep in his chair." Eugen glared over at Friedrich.

"Seems that you are taking care of him well. I shall turn in." Friedrich bowed.

"Jah. Do that." Eugen watched Friedrich walk slowly towards the door and let herself out. Then turned her attention to the commander. "Well then CJ, care to explain that?"

"I had no idea what was going on."

"And I had no idea you were that kind of man."

"I had no idea my father has a relationship with a woman after my mother passed until today."

"She is, Commander's lover?" Prinz Eugen felt better, but was confused on the whole topic.

"Partner so she said. Talked about how he would check on everyone but himself. Seems about right. But I'm too far off. Am I correct?" He smirked. "But I have to try."

"Nein. You've passed try and attempt long before yesterday." She shook her head.

"Least people know I'm working hard. Vote of confidence is what helps make a man. I do not wish to have that questioned."

Prinz Eugen sat on the desk and faced him. "I have a question." She smirked. "I couldn't tell from when she was here."

"What are you referring to?" Between everything going in the night and being tired, Clovis is at a lose for words.

"Are you a bruste or arsch man?"

"EHHH!?"
