Small Talk
There's a shocked silence in between us for a second. I'm still breathless, and slowly, a wheezing sound echoes from my throat. I fall to the ground, tears running from my cheeks. I can't tell if I'm laughing or crying but it sounds almost like a sheep bleating and it's so loud that the forest is probably about to wake up and attack us at any second.
"Lilly, don't cry! I didn't mean to hurt you!" Shauna says, rushing over to me.
"There are no legendaries to describe the amount of 'oh my' I am feeling right now. This is... this is..." I say.
"Unexpected?" Rune offers, having made a near decent recovery.
"Too weird?" Shauna says.
"This is great!" I say, now sure that I'm laughing instead of sobbing hysterically. "Shauna, I have something to tell you as well."
"Lilly!" she insists, frustrated. "This is really serious! Are you completely insane?!"
"Look, I can't use electricity or anything like that Hyper Beam, but..." I flash to Rune, who resists a little, still as confused by all this as Shauna and I. I talk from his mouth, and both our eyes are bright gold. "I'm a Goldeneye too."
Shauna squeaks and passes out.

The sun is coming up when we return to our camp, with Shauna in Rune's paws. He sets her down by the fire pit.
"Lilly!" Bronze says, hugging me. "I was so worried! You shouldn't have run off on me like that."
"I was looking for Shauna." I tell him. "I noticed she was gone last night, then I got attacked by a Goodra, and she saved me, and well, Bronze, you're not going to believe this, but she's a Goldeneye too."
"She's what."
"She used Hyper Beam right in front of me. It was crazy."
"Wait, we can use Pokemon attacks?! Ashley never once used any of Celebi's moves."
"I dunno, she was a lot younger than we are, and for all we know Shauna could be an extremely powerful Goldeneye. We have no idea what we're messing with."
"We should wake her up."
"On it!" yells Shruikan, who uses a (mercifully gentle) Hydro Pump on her face. Shauna wakes up with a spluttering gasp.
"Bronze! Shruikan! Are you both crazy?!"
"That's how I wake up every morning." Bronze shrugs.
"Whatever." I push him, half annoyed, half playfully. "Get the other Pokemon up. I'm going to talk to her."
"Lilly..." Shauna whispers, "Was I dreaming?"
"No." I tell her. "Sometimes I wish all of this was a dream, but no. I am a Goldeneye, and since the Skitty's out of the Pokeball, so is Bronze. I'm an Ampharos and he's a Typhlosion. If we're really going to confess everything, we're actually Pokemon from Johto in a parallel dimension that got destroyed by a psychopathic twelve year old and we have twelve or so teammates scattered around the region. Oh yeah, there might also be some ancient prophecy involved but we've been trying to avoid that."
"How much of that was you pulling my leg?" She asks. "Please say at least a part of that was you pulling my leg."
"Nope!" yells Rune. "She is Grade-A quality nuts. She's so nuts that people with peanut allergies should probably keep a half-mile radius on her-"
"Thanks, Rune." I say. "You can hear him, right? Goldeneyes have some thing with hearing Pokemon, but I don't think Ashley could."
"I can hear him." She says. "It's been awful to pretend I could only hear my Pokemon this whole time. So many conversations... Lilly, I can't believe I lied to you!" She hugs me. "With that and my crush, I just feel awful about you two even being here. I'm a terrible person."
"No, no-" I notice her sleeves have rolled down a bit, revealing large scars up and down them. "Shauna, are you cutting?"
She bursts into tears again. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I can't help it! I've been lying, and- and- my mom calls and I haven't picked up in months, she probably thinks I'm dead, I get nightmares every night, I only have a team of three because all my other Pokemon keep dying, and I want to die but I can't do it! I can't-"
"Calm down!" I tell her, yelling over her bubbling outburst. "Shauna, you are not a bad person! You're my friend and if anyone should feel bad, it's me for keeping you in the dark about who I really was and guilt tripping you over your feelings! It's going to be okay."
"No it's not. As soon as we leave the forest, you and Bronze are going to leave and I'll be alone again."
"No, you won't..." I bite my lip, but realize that this is a decision I should've made a long time ago. "You won't because you, Bronze, and I are going to travel together from now on!"
I notice now that Bronze and all my other Pokemon are standing around, staring intently at Shauna and I. They already look like one team. I can imagine us all working together quite easily, actually. I smile, tears running down my face. "Are you with me?"
Bronze runs up and joins the hug, holding Shauna and I in his embrace. I feel warmer just being around him, and then Rune and Shruikan join in. Pich holds us in her wings, Crypt curls his tail around us, Nina stands by him with one paw on his tail and one paw on Rune's back, and Chrona has her vines around all of us, wrapping us tight. One by one the rest of Bronze and Shauna's teams file in until it's just a giant hug, three teams united into one force.
I think I could get used to this.
((First update of the Chrona triple team extravaganza of indefinite temporal length. There promise to be many to come! Until then, here's the first one! Yes from now on Shauna, Bronze, and Lilly will all be travelling together :D))
