Chapter 6

To those of you who've been with me from the beginning, you know I'm a big Percy Jackson fan, which means I'm a bit of a Greek Mythology nerd and I have decided that I will be incorporating some of that knowledge into this story. Just wanted to give you guys a bit of a heads up.

The next few weeks were busy for what Thea had dubbed Team Artemis. In addition to Nyssa training her and also keeping up her grades, Thea was also working with Cisco and Argus on designing and building a base from the underground tunnels that did exist beneath Ivy town. Something Cisco had been very jealous of, since that was like classic comic book superhero stuff and he wanted that in Central City.

Anyways, it had taken a lot of work and money, but luckily, since Lyla had covered it up as a new off the books Argus base, which, in a way, it kind of was, since thanks to Roy being an Argus agent, the team was technically an Argus asset, so the story checked out.

And the end product was well worth the expense since the tunnels had gone from being dark and practically unusable to being the next level of superhero bases. The first thing that had happened was making sure that all possible entrances to the tunnels were secure, including one that was built into one of the original buildings in Ivy Town University, which would be convenient for Thea and Ryan, since no one would question why they were there. They'd found two other entrances to the tunnels. One was in an abandoned building in town, why that was there, they didn't know, since they still didn't know why this tunnel network existed in the first place, but Nyssa had been quick to acquire it and turn it into her own business since she'd decided to take Roy's suggestion and become a private investigator, something she found she enjoyed immensely. The final entrance they'd found was actually what appeared to be an old sewer entrance, but it turned out actually have just been built to look like that as a form of misdirection, since it had actually led to the tunnels.

After they'd assessed the entire layout of the tunnel network, the next thing they had to do was probably the most important and time consuming, since according the inspectors they had argus bring in, it looked as though the place had been built back during the Civil War, though they still could not determine to what end, but anyways, the entire network needed to be structurally reinforced before they could begin doing any major renovating.

Once the reinforcing and updating was complete, that was when the real work could begin in turning the tunnels into a base of operations. The whole team had already decided to make the area where all the tunnels meet as their meeting room, since it was at the exact center of the maze, but due to how big the network is, there was actually enough space for each of them to have their own little section of it.

Ryan's was his new lab, which was twice as big as the one he had at Ivy Town and was stocked with the same sort equipment Cisco had at Star Labs in Central City, including equipment to make all their suits, since Cisco had seen what Ryan's future self had done with one of Barry's suit, so he had plenty of faith in Ryan's ability to make suits for his team.

Roy's area actually resembles that of an auto mechanic's shop, since honestly, while Roy loved being a hero and an Argus agent, one of the reasons he'd become an auto mechanic each time he'd gone to ground was because he liked the idea of actually being able to build something useful, putting things together instead of just taking them apart. Honestly, he also found it somewhat therapeutic, since it helped him keep his mind away from the dark places it would go to due to his memories of what he'd done on the old earth. Something Thea was very happy about, since for once, Roy was dealing with his traumas in what she considered to be a healthy way, which meant it was less likely when he wouldn't run out on her again.

Nyssa's area was of course her own private training zone, which she used to maintain her own exercise regimen and also maintain some semblance of peace, since she had to admit, the one part about her imprisonment that she did not mind had been her isolation. The solitude had been oddly freeing. Anyways, it was also a place for her to cut loose without fear of hurting her teammates, since while Thea and Roy were both skilled, neither of them were in proper fighting condition yet.

And finally, Thea's area was more of rec room that she'd set up to not only give her a place to chill out when she needed too, but also a place to do homework so that she could keep up with school, since while she knew it would not be easy balancing being a hero with being a student, she'd never shied away a from a challenge before.

And the base also included several other areas. They'd converted the sewer entrance to a garage that the team was using to store motorcycles for them to use, since that was pretty much the only entrance that was practical for them to exit out of when they were suited up. The base also includes an armory loaded up with everything from arrows to grenade launchers, don't ask, a medical bay, living quarters in case any of them needed to spend the night there and a training room for the three field agents to use together.

Finally, the meeting room was also equipped with a mainframe computer that Ryan would be using to run mission control on the teams' missions. Now that they had a base, all they still needed were suits. Once they had those, Team Artemis could officially begin their mission.
